Rules

Combat Rules & Participation Information

ACMA Club (Azalea City Model Aeronautics) now has R/C Combat on the Third Sunday of each month at 2:00 pm at Irvington Field.... All AMA registered pilots both club and non-club members are welcome to participate and may enter any type of plane they wish, glow or electric.

All spectators are always welcome.

You do not have to be a ACMA club member to participate!

There is no charge or landing fee to enter!

At the end of the event, $30.00 in prizes for combat entrants will awarded through a random drawing.

Rules:

Must have AMA card

Pilots must sign in 15 minutes (1:45pm) before the start of the first heat

"SIGN IN TIME GETS YOU YOUR FREQUENCY CHOICE"

Streamers and string will be provided by the Combat General at “Sign in Time”

Points:

1 Point for each cut

1 point for completing all three rounds

1 point per Midair—This is any plane to plane contact of any kind!
If cut in any way, a new streamer must be used

Top Gun Group: Members Posts: 243 Member No.: 223 Joined: 5-May 06	Since everyone else did, here's my Why not have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place gift card($15---$10---and $5) I believe that is the correct gift card allocations. 500+ Club Member Group: Members Posts: 640 Member No.: 773 Joined: 22-November 09	I liked the 20 minutes between rounds! it allowed me to fly, and the 5 minute till combat announcement worked too!! might need to use the PA though? -------------------- Time spent flying is not subtracted from your lifespan, SO GO FLYING!!

Posts: 100 Member No.: 761 Joined: 8-September 09	Well, had a chance to run things by Enzo, he did have a great suggestion as for the drawings....instead of $15, $10 & $5. He thought $10 each would be nice....I kind of like the sound of that...anyone else?? Besides that, he loved the new rules and hopes it brings combat up a notch this year!! Tony, I will bring my recorder to the field today (Saturday) or I can e-mail it to you tonight. I stated building a new system last night and still need to mount the old hard drive. Max

It would take some book keeping but maybe keep tally of the points over the season, average them and the person with the highest average gets a grand prize at the end of the year??? (points will count for something then)

Just my personal op, I think 5 is kind of high for the prize requirement and not sure about the drawing. I understand the reasoning, but all a person would have to do is fly for a couple of seconds in 1 round, land then kick back and skip the others?? It may lead to non agressive flying and boring combat?? Still think that rounds ought to back down to 5 min too, lol.

Enzo and I were talking about that last night, also. We were coming up with some kind of point system to have a winner at the end of the season. Things are still being pounded out!!!

Change is good...so I'm open to changes and tweaking!! Just remember, there is no way to please everyone, but I'll try and find a happy medium!!
