Your pylon racer looks very pretty, Frits and I know that you will do well in the racing.
It already looks like it is doing 80 MPH just sitting still.

Are you going to be in the practice racing next weekend, I think it is?

Looks good Frits. Did you come up with those colors on your own? Nice to see you're in touch with your feminine side wink.gif .

Take a good look at our club logo. The azelea flower which is pink. If you find our club logo offensive embarrassed.gif then come to the Tuesday meeting and see if there is interest in changing the logo and the club name to a more manly logo and name. Good luck with that. thumbup.gif On a personal note I'm neither hot or cold on our club logo or name. It's just a name and logo- we could do worse!

Fritz did a verygood job in his colors and there is nothing wrong in picking out colors that represent our club or club logo. The plane was well built and flies very well and knowing Fritz he is going to be hard to beat in pylon racing.

I think that the color is more of a Metallic Magenta instead of pink. tongue.gif Dead_Horse.gif

I had a Pink Metallic Magenta "Wonder" flying wing one time. cloud9.gif

I don't think his color selection has anything to do with our club or club logo. He just likes those colors, just as he has for the entire 15 years I've been around this club and subsequently around him.

P.S.: Russell, I'm giving you a homework assignment. Type the following 10 lines:

Frits
Frits
Frits
Frits
Frits
Frits
Frits
Frits
Frits
Frits

biggrin.gif

Also, the LA Racer pylon planes do fly extremely well and are very well matched. Should be tons of fun. Too bad I won't be there next weekend for the first practice run.

Russ, Mike and I had a great little unofficial "race" yesterday — using only one pylon post... huh.gif

It felt good to race around and chase Mike and Russ. (I was lagging behind most of the time, but I was holding back, of course...)
Consider me BACK in bi'niz...! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Now, about those colors I use...
I have used pink, sky blue, yellow and purple on several of my planes.
It takes a real man to use those colors on his airplane, especially titty pink... dry.gif
Here are some of my earlier racers...

It wasn't always like that:
Here's my Great Planes Patriot. It was my 4th airplane. And the Yoshioko Flash, my pattern plane...

The first one was a Scat Cat Quickie 500 pylon racer.
That one is still somewhere in the woods across half Mile Road north of the field...

The airplane on the right of it was a Four Star 40, slightly modified. I had clipped the outer wing bay off of each wing, and renamed it a "Clipped-Star 40".

I never really liked the open engine compartment and those ugly "cheeks" of a Four Star, so I built it and shaped it like the nose of the Flash, the fourth picture.

Here's another one, before I really started to like that pink MonoKote... wub.gif

Thanks, but anyone can do it. It's not hard. no.gif

Here's how I do it...

I spend about an hour or more planning the patterns and colors.

I may make six to ten outline drawings of the top view and side view of the airplane... yes.gif
Then I use my granddaughters color markers and I color the drawings to see how each scheme will look... And I pick one.

Then I follow the instructions that come with each MonoKote roll... biggrin.gif

he has done forgot all youll ever know about flyn.He said he was gonna go by
us so FAST that it will look like we are in reverse. He said we should just not even
have pylon races, cause he hates to take our pride. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
