Hi Donnie, I know that there are several Hangar 9 1/4 scale Cubs flying at field and I hope maybe someone will reply here with information about theirs and what engines are being used. I think I have seen them with nitro two and four stroke engines as well as gasoline engines. Don't be bashful about inquiring about engine when you see one at field, most fellows like to expound on the virtues of their engine selection. OBTW - Welcome to this forum and we will be looking forward to your continued participation. Alvin -------------------- |

Hey Thanks for the info Tony and Mr. Alvin I will come see yall in the near future, been to hot to do much of anything. Tony I have been leaning towards O.S I know they are expensive but this is going to be my dream plane-HA! O.S has not been to helpful as they told me they cannot suggest a engine that they have not tested on certain products? So I ask them what they had to offer on a 104-106 wingspan and 14-16lb plane and they could not suggest anything. Hanger9 says 120-180-4stoke So I am thinking 200 surpass without the pump(o.s) I just don't know much about ys,saito,etc.. Altough what research I have done ys is a pretty hot engine in the 125-150range and reasonable in price. I do not want gas for the reason of having two differrant fuels. Anyways I will visit soon..........
Thanks Donnie |

Go to Hobby city .com and check out there 26cc engines ,they also have 2 and 4 strokes. If you like spending money then a big 4 stroke is the way to go. Most of the pilots use 2 and 4 strokes for the smaller planes but use gas for the bigger ones. As a rule of thump. Using glow fuel and gas is for different planes is not a problem. Concider gas. $2.31 a gallon for gas compared to $22.00 for glow fuel.
