"Warning Bar Explanation"

Several forum members have asked me about the little warning bar/% they see below their name on their posts. Every forum member has one, but you only see yours and other forum members do not see any except their own.
It will indicate in increments of 20% for each warning you might receive for bad behavior in forum. (like using nasty words too much, too high a setting on your flame thrower (verbally attacking someone in forum posts), posting inappropriate pictures (and you know what they are), or just being too much of a general disruptor in the forums.
If your warning level is still at 0%, you have not been warned about anything.
You can only be warned by admin. or moderator staff and proper notes will be attached to the warning as to why and by who. Click on the little % number to see yours if any.
No big deal, but a necessary thing sometimes because you never know who might wonder in from the net and cause mischief. Hope this explains things OK and puts your worries to rest.

"Hot/Remote Image Linking"

Please do not do this!!
Hot & Remote linking is when you link one of the uploaded/attached image file URLs in this forum to another web site. In other words, if you want to show a picture contained in this forum on another site, do not link directly to it. Right click on it and choose "save as" and save it to your computer and then upload it to a web server that allows remote linking. Either your own web host or one of the free picture galleries that allow remote image loading.
Forum members hot/remote linking images from this forum risk suspension of their file attachment privilege or deleting of membership. This linking practice adds to forum's data transfer total and if it goes over a limit, I have to pay for extra bandwidth.
Here are some places where you can post your pictures and hot/remote linking is allowed.
*imageshack* (TESTED - QUICK & EASY - NO REGISTRATION)
*photobucket* (TESTED - VERY SLICK PICTURE STORAGE - CREATE AN ACCOUNT)
Or you could do a google search for "free image hosting".

"Topic Hijacking"

Have you ever noticed that when reading the replys in a topic (forum thread) it will sometimes change subject and go off in a different direction. This is called Hijacking.
Happens all the time and A common thing in forums. Please try not to hijack a topic, but start another topic about new subject.
Forum admin or moderators can split a hijacked topic and create a new topic containing the posts about the different subject. Probably will be done in a topic of serious content where the subject really needs to stay on course so it can come to a reasonably fast conclusion for the benefit of people trying to follow the discussion.

Personal Messages:
You can PM any user by clicking the button next to one of their posts. A personal message travels to the other user instantly; the next time they log in they will see their new message. You can use this as an alternative to e-mail. To see if you have new messages, simply look at the top right of the screen; next to the My Controls link you will see a link that says x new messages. To write a new message, you can also click the link in your My Controls section that says Compose New Message.

Calendar:
Another feature of the board is the calendar, which will have special events and birthdays posted on it. Forum members can add events to calendar, please do. To access the calendar, click the Calendar link in the top right corner of the screen, slightly below the My Assistant link. To view more information for an event, click its link. You can also quickly check all upcoming events on the main page; just scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the icon.

Forum Polls:
How to make buggie forum Poll Feature work (registered members only in forums where poll creation allowed). There was a problem with creating multi-choice polls, but it has been fixed. Polls working fine, last time I checked.

Want a cute Custom Icon (Avatar) associated with your name in forum posts?:
Registered Members Only, near top of forum page, click on "My Controls", lots of things particular to your forum presence adjusted here, such as forum signatures and selection of your "Avatar" icon.

While in your "My Controls" page:
Please take the few minutes to fill out your member profile to some extent. Others sometimes really find this stuff interesting. You can make it truthful, interesting, or both. This is the internet after all.

Also Please set your Time Zone so your post's time/date stamp will be correct. I just noticed mine were off by six hours and had to correct it. Find the place along this path.
Be Logged In/Forum Page/My Controls/Options/Board Settings.

Directly under the profile link is a link to Edit Signature. A signature is text that appears at the bottom of each message you post. For example, my signature includes a link to my website. Type in whatever you wish to use as a signature and click Update my signature.
