Title: Cap 232 BP CG

Bill - July 11, 2009 12:50 AM (GMT)
I recently finished putting together a Cap 232 bp arf. I put all the stock parts on it, with the 450 e-flight motor. I took it up for about five flights, but it just doesn't seem to be balanced correctly. The manual calls for the cg to be set at 122mm back from the leading edge. I tried to set it there but the plane porpoises. When I fly it as it came out the box, it will fly with no porpoising, but like I said it just doen't seem right.

Does anyone with experience on this plane have any advice for setting the cg?

*I have built several arfs now, so I do understand how to set cg, but this one is giving me fits.

I have one and it flies great after a few mods to the push rods to stiffen them! If it seems mushy on the sticks, then that's your problem!

Ah, that could be it. The rods do bend. Did you put the rods in some light tubing? How did you stiffen them?

Are you the same Johnny that was showing me your cap a couple weeks ago (we couldn't get the two Spectrums to BB up so I could fly it...)

If so, it's your fault I had to go out and get this plane :D

Yep it's me! :D
I put a couple of layers of heat shrink on them.
I should be out there tomorrow afternoon if you want to look at mine! ;)

I witnessed Bill flying his Cap several times Saturday and he seems to have figured a fix as the flights were uneventful.

This is true, as Alvin was closely watching with the video rolling just in case.....
