Protected by a thick atmosphere, the people of North America get ready to go to work. Half a world away, in the various countries of Europe, most of the day has passed. It is a relatively normal day. No natural disasters. No terrorist attacks. The Sun still shines in the sky; the Moon still circles the Earth. Nothing is out of place.
In the blink of an eye, everything changes.
There is no explosive destruction or widespread despair. No coming of the anti-Christ. There is something much smaller, something far less noticeable, that occurs. Sixty people from around the globe mysteriously disappear from their homes and their jobs; they disappear from their lives without a trace. It means nothing to most of the six billion humans that inhabit the planet Earth, but for these few, nothing will ever alter their lives more.
Those sixty people awake on a spaceship with no idea where they are, how they got there, or what has happened to their families and friends. This is just the beginning. There's a long road ahead.
