> Welcome to LotR Online
Hello and welcome to LotR Online!

Please join up with a real Middle Earth name, such as Linthir, Miriel, etc. Not champion08 or Edward Jacobs.

We may be having 'auditions' for Rangers and other such things soon. Keep by for more information.

Please note that we are no longer allowing people to sign up as elves! Seeing as the elves of Middle Earth were leaving--and we want to keep as respectively close to the books as possible--we are stopping people from joining up as elves and they will have to get direct permission to RP as such!

Cantela walked on the dirt road humming a tune. She was here for obvious reasons. What are those reasons you ask? Well, I'll tell you. 1)Cantela ran away from home and this is where she ended up after walking for a day and a half, 2)Well..yeah thats about it. So, here we are with Cantela whom is alone and only 19. What will she do?

"It is so dreadfully boring here." Cantela said as she looked around hoping to find a place to rest. Now that she had stopped walking, she noticed how tired she was. Wicked tired. She turned around to see that there was a moss covered rock awaiting to be sat on. Cantela rushed over to it and sat down letting out a moan. Oh how good it felt it rest her legs.

Legolas was an elfling at heart. He was also a slippery elf. He somehow managed to weasel his way out of a meeting and got to see his beautiful wife Brenwian and his daughter, Luthien, who was still but a babe. He missed them already. They were the only females who captivated his heart. Brenwian had captured him when she had still been a girl, enthralling him with her distinctively human ways but with a sweetness an elleth could never hope to manage, and then she had stolen his heart as she blossomed into a woman. And it goes without saying he loved his daughter. She was his little princess, and he would protect her no matter what the cost.

After putting his darling daughter to bed and kissing his wife goodbye, he had taken his horse, Arod, and set off on the old forest road where he and Cirdan had played many times when they were children. It was familiar, and he felt liberated. In the palace, he felt contained and it took a toll on his naturally free elvish spirit. After many, many years of spending no more than a week inside before he had to go and lead warriors into battle, this was a struggle to get used to.

All thoughts aside, he merely let Arod plod along the road as he enjoyed the scenery. He could hear the trees whispering to him and hailing him as the king. He smiled and deftly undid his hair from the style of the king to the braids of a warrior.

He merely rode, as simply Legolas, warrior of Mirkwood.

But he spotted something that was strange to his eyes.

It was a young girl, human, by the looks of it. She looked relieved to sit down, and a horse grazed a few feet away from her. He didn't bother to hide himself. Though he could say differently for his wife, most human females were not dangerous, in any way, shape or form. His blue eyes watched her for a moment, before he dismounted gracefully and greeted her politely with a nod. Why such a girl should be out alone, in Mirkwood, which was still quite dangerous, was beyond him.

"Milady, why do you sit alone? You do know that Orcs still do stray into these lands?" Legolas was quite glad he had changed into his old warrior's clothes, so there was hardly a chance she would recognize him, unless she lived in Minas Tirith and remembered him from when she was younger.

Cantela hummed, leaning her head back, a small smile on her face. This was perfect. No parents to bother her and nobody trying to talk her into coming back home. Which she never ever would do. She liked being alone. She liked fending for herself. She liked alot of things that involved being alone.

To her displeasure she herd something. This something sounded like horses walking on the road. I hope it's not father. She thought as she opened her eyes to see who it was. To Cantela's amazment, there stood an elf. The elf had long blonde hair, like most elves, but there was something about him that seemed familiar. But what was it?

To her amazment the elf talked. Why do a sit alone? Though Cantela as she looked the elf up and down. She might as well tell him to leave her to rest. She didn't need a person standing over her while she slept. He would, could do something. "I sit alone good sir because I left my family. And I am afraid of no orc. I can defend myself. A woman who can't defend herself is useless." This was what Cantela had always thought atleast.

"And I shall use my sword on you if you try to pull anything." Cantela now said feeling more confident. She turned around in search of her sword. Where was it? Shoot, she had left it at home with her horse and her bow. She was now in big trouble.

Now, Legolas wasn't much to judge, but this girl was strange. He didn't think she would have had any sort of training against a real foe. He remembered his naivety when he had finally mastered the bow. He thought he could take down the world, because he had uncommon skill for one his age at the time. He smiled wryly at memories of his first battle. One of his closest friends had been killed because he had rushed in and tried to take down the leader. He took a deep breath and sighed.

"Lesson one of the world, little one, is to never threaten before you have reason to back it up." He said wisely. He may have come off condescending, but this girl was naive... but all humans were when compared to one who had lived longer than humans could dream. He leaned against Arod, stroking his stallion's beautiful mane.

"Fear not, young one, I am above such petty things, as to harm a girl who could not defend herself against one who has seen many times her amount of years." And then he remembered he had seemed to overlook something.

"Why have you left your family?" He asked curiously, looking her over. She couldn't have been more than twenty years of age. An adult in the eyes of men, and she was probably a rebellious one. Legolas remembered Estel when he had been around that age. He was willing to break every rule for the one he loved. He knew she would regret leaving the one source of unconditional love behind for a chance at what some called adventure and freedom. It was nothing but fear, pain and anguish when you were alone in the wilderness without someone to watch over you in the night.
