Crenshaw;

Founded in 1955, Crenshaw was an exclusive school for gifted male and female scholars. As time passed, a series of violent events occurred, eventually concluding with the unsolved murder of 15-year-old Melissa Cricket and resulting in frightened, worried parents. Word spread. The year 1969 came, and the headmaster closed Crenshaw Academy due to multiple students leaving in fear of the school’s history. For twenty years, the academy lay deserted, its interior gathering dust and cobwebs while thick vines claimed the school’s walls. That’s how it should have stayed, in the minds of graduated students.

Howard Spector, a retired magician of only thirty-five years, wasn’t about to let an opportunity such as this go to waste, though. After two years of careful reconstruction and tons of expended money, Mr. Spector reopened Crenshaw Academy, keeping the school’s violent past hidden – as well as it’s old files. Mr. Spector housed his students at an exclusive, luxurious academy for boys between the ages of sixteen and twenty-one, with one exception…they are all trained to follow Mr. Spector’s legacy in the art of stage magic. To this day, the future occupations of the boys at Crenshaw are not revealed to girls at Crestwall.

Crestwall;

Founded in 1991 by the wife of Howard Spector, Crestwall Academy for Gifted Young Women shares a similar architectural structure to Crenshaw, save for lacking the mysterious, exciting contents of the other school’s basement and a bit more modernized framework.

The school is nationally acclaimed for its excellent academic courses, expansive athletic and fine arts programs, and generous scholarships offered by Mrs. Spector herself. High school girls all across the country dream of attending the school, ignoring the possible negative point that never seems to occur to them – all students at Crenshaw and Crestwall must stay all three years once enrolled or having accepted their scholarship, supposedly to avoid the fate of Crenshaw’s earliest years.


The Relevance;

Crenshaw and Crestwall are both expansive estates, enormous three-story manors of heavy brick and granite shrouded in heavy foliage, creeping ivy, and tall, thick-trunked pine trees. A mile separates the two schools, broken only by a small, winding path through untamed forest. A single road leads from the two schools into the village. Students are flown in or out on a private air strip in town only before and after holidays.

Unbeknownst to all teachers and most students, a dark, musty tunnel that appears on no blueprints connects the basements of the two schools. Secrets shroud both academies like the man that helped reopen them, and the tension is rising with the start of a new school year. When will the walls of a decades-old secret cave – and who will be crushed?
