Summary:

Charlie is the kind of person that radiates confidence. She walks smoothly, with a a grace afforded by years of soccer. Her shoulders never slouch, and her stride is wide, wih a sort of loping, easy pace that brings to mind the image of a skater. A quick smile and eyes that seem to laugh all the time, whether at the things around her or the people themselves, she has an almost sly glint in her eyes at all times. Thankfully her teachers mistake it for wry humor.

She's almost tomboy pretty. Never dressing elegantly unless forced, she often opts for jeans, a loose t-shirt, or a tank top when freed from the never-flattering uniforms of Crestwall's rules. When around Edward (a.k.a. plotting trouble), she plays up her good traits by 'borrowing' other girls' skirts. Fortunately, she's good at covering her tracks - but if you ever see her slinking off in your favorite outfit, don't be surprised. The typical hairstyle for Charlie is basically whatever the brown mass looks like once she's climbed out of the shower, but if the urge to style it strikes her, straight is probably the way to go.

Never underestimate someone because of their looks, Charlie's father always said. It works in soccer, and in Charlie's case, it works in life.

Personality:

Charlie is a whirlwind of a personality. Faintly bitter about never having a mother, this minor chip on her shoulder is contrasted by a fierce loyalty to her father and grandparents. She'll do whatever it takes to keep her family safe, and it kills her to be separated from the people she loves while she's across the country. Being incapable of helping them - or even knowing if they need help - makes her completely determined to find her way back to them, at any cost.

A happy childhood with an intelligent family has instilled a deep sense of morals within Charlie, as well as kept her drive for perfect grades strong. Despite weekly ploys and pranks to escape from Crestwall, she'd never happily harm someone. In her head, it's all fun and games. She's still an excellent soccer player, a straight-A student, and everyone's idea of a perfect student - which just goes to show that confidence pays off.

Angering Charlie is never hard to do. She's got a short temper, quick to light, and holds grudges for long periods. If you make an enemy of this girl, she'll make your life miserable whenever she can. Thankfully, about the only way to tick her off is to bring up her family in a derogatory manner, ar hint that she's not as skilled as she thinks she is.

As proof of her temper, one lesson care of her father is Charlie's insurmountable pride. Rarely does it cross this girl's mind that she could lose anything, or flunk any test. This works two ways, however. Rarely does she consider the consequences of her actions on other people. In her mind, she's the only one that deserves trouble or getting hurt because of her pranks. We all know life isn't like that, though. Her constant mischievous personality may be her downfall - and Charlie without her confidence is no Charlie at all.

Why should your character attend Crestwall Academy? Charlie has the strength and aggression necessary to make her a coach's dream of a skilled player. Where her scant size ends, a lightning-fast runner emerges. Charlie is fully capable of singlehandledly beating most elite players. Also, her intelligent family has instilled hard work ethics within her, and she applies this to everything she does, including academics. She's got straight-A's, amazing soccer skills, and a dirty little secret that could end it all.

History:

Charlie was a mistake. The product of a flighty evening between an eighteen-year-old high school senior and a cute college guy freshly graduated from Crenshaw, both of her parents had had a little too much to drink at a graduation party one night. No numbers or names were exchanged by the two - until Eve Green found out she'd made something other than a one-night-stand - a baby.

9 months passed, Eve searching frantically for a man she couldn't remember. Finally, a week before the baby was due, she found a name, but she slipped into premature labor and was driven to a hospital to deliver a child without a proper father. Banking on a spur-of-the-moment decision, she put down Jonathan Leone's name as the father on the birth certificate of newborn Charlene Green.

A few days before Eve was allowed to take her baby daughter home, she drove to an address given to her by Information for Jonathan Leone, intelligent son of a well-to-do family living in Boston, Massachusetts. After explaining to a stunned Jonathan, Eve left in a wave of embarrassment and sadness. En route to the hospital, Eve's car was caught in a fatal accident. She was killed instantly, leaving behind a shocked, uncertain father and Charlie Green, who later adopted her father's last name.

Jonathan immediately told his parents of the problem. While stunned by the foolish actions of their son, they agreed to care for Charlie while her father completed college. When Charlie was five, Jonathan struck it rich. He got a job as the manager of an advertising company that exploded into the industry. He now had a steady job, a nice lifestyle, and plenty of money to support his daughter.

Charlie had a good childhood, despite lacking a mother. Constant visits from her grandparents kept her sweet, while her father encouraged her to maintain straight-A's. Meanwile, she made friends with an Italian transfer student named Rico, teaching him English in exchange for coaching in soccer skills. By the end of junior year she'd been offered a scholarship to Crestwall.

More friends than father and daughter, Charlie tried to refuse the offer in favor of staying with her dad, but Jonathan urged her to take it - noting the school's conditions for enrollment, three years mandatory. He was afraid to tell Charlie that the ad business was suffering and he needed to work very hard on it to keep it in good standing. Charlie, oblivious to financial troubles, spent the entirety of her freshman and the start of her second year at Crestwall plotting with Edward Saine to get out. At any cost.
