Aerin walked through the sliding hospital doors without flinching. How many times had she walked through similar doors with her father. Of course it was never her father who had been the patient. Always accident prone Aerin had really done it this time luckily it hadnt been as bad as her last injury of a broken arm. No this time it had been a scratch. The scratch was deep though and she couldnt stand the thought of looking back at the nasty gouge. Of course a nail happened to reach for her arm. She had quickly went home and wrapped her arm in gauze after dousing it thoroughly with peroxide. It was almost easy to care for ones own injuries when your father was a paramedic. She smiled politely at a father and son sitting across from her. Apparently the child had a bad case of the flu. "Poor kiddo" she thought to herself. Inwardly she wished he would feel better soon. When the nurse called her up Aerin sighed inwardly sucking in a deep breath to keep her breathing steady. Sitting down on the table covered with white sheets of paper brought her back to the years before when she had seemed to break a new bone every month. Her father had called her Calamity Jane several times on occasion. She smiled at the memory of getting bucked off her first bronc. It had been a mustang that her father had gotten for free. "Well no wonder you got him for free Jonathon" her mother had scolded her father. Aerin absently swung her legs then realized how childish she must have looked. Like a 5 year old with a temperature sitting waiting for the lollypop at the end of the exam. Instead she picked herself up and moved to a chair across the small room.
