Laura Wright is this issues's outstanding performer:
Come hell or high water, there's one person General Hospital's Carly can always count on - Jason. His unconditional love, support and honesty have come to mean everything to her. Not a day had gone by in which she questioned his devotion. Until now. Learning that he kept the biggest news of his life - that Jake was his son - from her felt like a sucker punch to the gut. She was no longer the most important woman in his life. Elizabeth was. Carly, the woman who projects strength, independence and nerve, felt betrayal and hatred like she had never experienced before.
"The Farce Is Over"
The mere sight of Sam pushed Carly's buttons. In turn, riled up like nobody's business, Sam dropped the mother of all bombshells - Jason, not Lucky, is Jake's father! The sparkle in Carly's eyes faded as she attempted to conceal the depth of her hurt. Her mind raced as she lashed out at Sam, accusing her of lying. But after racing to Elizabeth's door and taking one look at Jake, Carly could deny it no longer. "My God, it's true," she said softly. "He's Jason's."
Both hurt and angry, she accused Liz of taking advantage of Jason, as if she was looking to place the blame anywhere but on her confidant. To do that would mean he purposely kept her in the dark, a possibility Carly didn't want to consider. "Now that I know," she warned Elizabeth, "the farce is over."
"Is It True?"
Carly next confronted Jason and asked if Jake was his baby. "Yes, Jake is my son," he admitted sheepishly.
"I can't believe you didn't share this with me," she said, tears welling. Jason was quick to defend Liz, adding that he knew Carly would behave this way if she found out. "Sonny knew that you would be like this, too," he said. Her mouth dropped open. Sonny knew, as did Spinelli and Lulu. "You could trust them, but you couldn't trust me," she said, tears streaming down her face. "Look how you're reacting," he pointed out. "I didn't want you to come up with some crazy plan and try to find a way to get Jake for me." She turned to leave, but not before warning, "That's exactly what I'm going to do."
A Job Well-Done
Laura Wright is one of the most underrated actresses on daytime. She fully inhabits Carly and does "fired up" better than just about anyone, making those quiet, hurt moments that much more effective. The tears she summons never fail to trickle down her cheeks at the perfect moment. How she does it, we don't know. But we applaud her because she can...and does.
Kudos to Laura.

I've always loved Jarly, and I have moments when I love Liason (don't hit me) but lately I've hated how Jason continuously comes down on his supposed BFF. The one that would literally take a bullet and die for him -- he lies to (and not for the 1st time). Now, I hate that Carly's so wrapped up in Liason/Jake -- thus ignoring Jax, but Laura's just been phenomenal during this revelation.

Laura rocks, plain and simple, but of course we all knew that already!

Good for her! She totally deserves it, especially having to be stuck in (what I think is) not a great storyline at all! I really hope we get to see more of her outside of the Sonny/Kate/Jason/Liz/Claudia storyline. She's such a great actress and I really don't think she deserves to be stuck in a storyline that she doesn't play a strong part in. I'm hoping in the upcoming future that they focus on her and Jax, Michael's obvious problems, and her involvement in the text message murders. I think there are so many great potential storylines they could go with and I really hope they use Laura to her full potential!!!

Laura was amazing during those scenes, and she blew me away today with the Jason stuff! Im a Jarly Fan and the whole Time im like (is he really saying this to her... CARLY!!!) but it needed to happen and hopefully they will get a stronger friendship cause i hate how they have carly all super possesive of Jason and Sonny -( especially Sonny cause I just dont get that :rolleyes ) but Laura deserves to have her own SL with Jax and her kids and not have to be spat on (as Carly) by Liason and Skate( Love Liason.. most of the time/hate Skate- all of the time lol) :carjaxrocks

Finally, LW gets the praise she deserves! I may not always like her storylines or Carly's reaction's to certain things...but LW always does an excellent job no matter what!
She def needs a Daytime Emmy...but, GH always gets cheated out of them...so I won't hold my breath.

^^Sooo much word! Totally true. I kinda like that she flies under the radar though. She'll kinda sneak up on ya and surprise you, especially if you've never watched her.

Thanks so much for posting this.
I loved the article and I thought it was spot on about her performance and why Laura is so outstanding in scenes like those. I was really proud by this article for Laura.
And, she DEFINITELY is one of the most underrated actress on GH. Laura is so talented and they don't let her use the raw acting abilities that she has on the show. But, nonetheless, Laura plays Carly like nobody's business and the emotions and fierceness, but yet vulnerable qualities that she portrays in Carly is just amazing.
Major kudos to Laura.
