Title: What's your favorite movies?

LukesDiner - January 18, 2008 04:27 AM (GMT)
One of my friends asked me that the other day, and I was trying to think of like my top five favorite movies, of all-time. It's harder than you think, because it's pretty much like every movie ever made. And well...that's a lotttttttt of movies! Anyway, all of this babbling is to see what everyone's top five favorite movies are. They don't have to be in any particular order unless you want them to be.

Okay here's my top five:

1. Steel Magnolias
2. The First Wives Club (I can watch this movie over and over again and I never get sick of it!) "Bye bye love...hello pop-tarts."
3. Overboard
4. Erin Brockovich
5. When Harry Met Sally

Honorable mention:

Walk the Line
Adventures in Babysitting (this is a classic 80's movie, I've seen it sooo many times.)
Private Benjamin (I'm a sucker for Goldie Hawn movies)
Christmas Vacation (the cat gets electrocuted, a dog named Snot, and a squirrel running through the house, oh and the uncle burns down the Christmas tree, priceless!)

Don't laugh, but my guilty pleasure is, Hocus Pocus. I seriously know every line in that movie and I still crack up every time I watch it. I watch it even when it's not Halloween!

So that pretty much turned into my top 10...but you get the idea!

I LOVE that movie! It never gets old. My favorite line happens when they are on the subway and they're in between the two gangs and Chris is holding the knife: "Don't fuck with the babysitter!" I think my favorite scene though is when they are in the blues club and have to sing the "babysitting blues" lol, SUCH a good movie. I wanna go watch it now!

:biglaugh Oh, yeah I remember that scene. And at the end when they're speeding to get back to the house and whiz right past the parents -- and her friend doesn't want to go home and she slams the door in her face -- great stuff.

And The Secret of Nimh -- that's just good old-fashioned stuff from when I was a kid. Haven't watched it in a while and bringing it up I think I'll watch it tonight. And, aww, to Fivel, though I'm partial to American Tale -- :D

Whenever people ask me, "whats your fav movie?" I always pick something different...because I don't have one favorite movie lol. I have like 10, but my top 5 are:

1) all the scary movies (the funny scary movies...not all the scary movies in the world lol)
2) Elektra
3) Mean Girls (so funny!)
4) Babysitter's Club (an oldie...but i used to watch that movie like 10 times a day)
5) a tie between Harry Potter and Pirates...its just too hard to choose lol
