YAGYU CLAN
History The land has always needed warrior. Mercenaries only carry an army so far. A true millitary has it's heart fprged from battle hardened-veteran professional soldiers. The Yagyu family was made of such men and women. In the early era of the Clan the Yagyu were little more than philosphical soldiers with a knack for melee combat. When the first Daimiyo rose to a true position of power he had his foundations firmly rooted in the Yagyu family, as the Yagyu blood made up the magority of his generals.
In a time of chaos the Yagyu family flourished. The elders trained new soldiers in the very complex art of Yagyu style kendo and the young men served as the brunt of the Daimiyo's army. This required a large amount of numbers and thus the Yagyu clan accepted other smaller clans into it's umbrella. These integrated clans were known as Honorbound Yagyu, not allowed many of the bonuses or powerful positions that the True Yagyu were. This did not bother the other calns very much though as they were all allowed to train in full Yagyu Kendo and raise thier own honor by joining with a powerful clan.
Eventually the chaos subsided and a new form of warfare emerged, subelty. The newest Pafekuro, the clan's leader, a man named Myamoto Musashi Yagyu cared little for the idea of subtlety. He embarked on a personal quest to kill all the greatest swordsmen of the world. Myamata's sword skills were not to be triffled with. He killed hundreds of men by the time the Yagyu finally grew tired of his bloody march. They assembled a group of seven of thier greatest swordsmen and they all swore to tear Myamoto's life from him before the last of them died.
The eight men eventually met, in what is now the Yagyu caln's compound, a desimated fortress. He gripped his legendary weapon, Silence, in his hand and waited for the seven warriors to stike. They founght him over the course of six seconds and all eight of the men had died. In Myamoto's possession were two things. His sword, obviously, and a book. It was known as the book of Five Rings and became the key text for all Yagyu warriors from that day forth.
MAYAMOTO MUSASHI YAGYUThe caln quickly became integrated into the world of the shinobi soon after Mayamoto's death. The Yagyu blood had always been powerful in the ways of swordsmanship but once they began to truely tap into thier chakra they discovered a new secret. The Yagyu were naturally adept at deceiving those around then, wiether in battle or convorsation,
Quickly the Yagyu were in high demand again as powerful negotiators who could deffend themselves in case of a porr negotion. With Yagyu diplomats in the employ of Daimiyo again the Yagyu began to regain thier dwingled pride.
Not long ago the newest, and current, Pafekuro Jubei Yagyu came of age and gained the nickname of Jubei the Dmon Hunter due to his fervor when it came to hunting down injustice. He also was known for wielding Mayamoto's old sword Silence and bore a striking resmeblence to the blood thirsty Mayamoto. Jubei ruled his clan with a hard and strick rule, resserecting some lost traditions. He became a personal friend of the 4Th Hokage and often went to the Hokage for advice. He viewed the old man as a mentor. When Jubei had his hieress he was diswrought because of her blindness, but, eventually the two grew very close. Jubei is considered retired from shinobi service but still is a very active participant in anything he is allowed to participate in.
