Everyone on our board who has ever used our C-box can tell you that’s probably the most vital part of our board. It is the living breathing part of our board that has allowed us to become as close as a family over a small amount of time. But lately I have gotten some complaints & noticed myself a general shift in the C-box. This isn’t directed at any one person or persons. But I feel for the over all comfort of the board we need to lay down some new rules about C-box etiquette.

If you’re having a conversation please limit it to either something Naruto related or something that everyone can participate in. That means keep the conversations about your own personal life to a minimum especially things only 1-2 people will understand. Although some personal conversation is ok & is a great way to learn about each other. Just let other people join.
Here an example of the difference:
“Oh I had a great day today because I got a sandwich.” Ok conversation everyone can join in.
“Oh I had a great day today because I met up with that guy Steve from HS & we had a sandwich” Not ok only people who know Steve understand everyone else is left out.
If you have to tell someone something personal please keep it to PMs, Email, Gmail, carry pigeon, what ever means you want as long as it is private. Because not everyone cares about your personal life good or bad.

On the topic of personal lives I know & understand a lot of people on this board are in relationships. Which is great thing & we are all happy for you guys but not everyone is happily taken or wants to hear about how happily taken you are. So please, please do not rub it in the rest of our faces there is a time & a place for that. If you want to be lovey please leave it for your characters & keep your personal life personal.

It goes the same for the opposite if you have an issue with someone in real life well keep it in real life & off the board. If you have to just sit & pretend you like them while mentally picturing gouging their eyes out do so just keep it off the cbox. Take this like you would real life if you couldn’t stand a random person you didn’t really know at your school or work you wouldn’t go up & insult them to their face. You would most likely keep it to yourself.

Also I want to remind everyone that we have younger & newer people on the board so please watch what you say about certain things like sex. Everyone knows there a time & place where it is appropriate to talk about such things such as late at night. But let’s keep them to a minimum we don’t want to scare anyone away.

So here is a run down of the C-box rules of etiquette:

1. If it’s personal keep it that way. Not everyone needs or wants to hear every detail of your life.
2. Watch what you say & try to keep it PG-13 tops.
3. Remember the golden rule treat people how you want to be treated.
4. Think before you write. Think “Would this annoy me if my worst enemy wrote this?” If yes chances are it’d annoy someone so don’t type it.

Please follow these rules & let’s let Land of the Ninja continue to grow to be the family we all love. It isn’t my job to play dictator or mother on the board so this is the last time I’m going to say play nice before I have to. Meaning if things continue I do have the means to block, edit, & change anything on the cbox at any time or if I feel the need I will give personal warnings. But I’d rather us just all admit we are guilty of this & try to move on.
