Rules and Organization

I. Preparing for Salvage
Prior to each run, members are expected to consult this forum to see what the plan for the run is. The run area is typically not announced in advance, but the forum should be consulted for possible changes in time or cancellations due to maintenance, holidays, etc.

Members must prepare for the run by acquiring the items listed as necessary for the run. These usually include:

-Hi-potions (5-10 for DDs)
-Reraise Scrolls and/or Reraiser items
-Sanction (with Regen or Refresh)
-Appropriate Food
-Appropriate Medicines (Echo Drops, Eye Drops, Holy Waters, Antidotes...)

You are expected to acquire the 1500 AP required to purchase a Remnants Permit before the run. We will not delay runs to wait for people to acquire AP from assault areas, and your lotting priority may be reduced if you miss several consecutive runs for which you would otherwise be present because of a lack of AP. In order to attend five Salvage runs per week, you will need to be successfully completing 6-7 assaults per week at 1100+ points each on average. For the most part, only assaults of the highest levels (Second and First Lieutenant) are capable of netting 1500 AP per run without the first-time bonus. Many members choose to run assaults together immediately prior to the run, but it is your responsibility to make sure this happens before the scheduled run times.

Additionally, each member is expected to fully understand at least the basic structure of each Salvage area prior to the run, by consulting either the members-only Lagsave strategy guides on this forum (linked at the top of the page), or those in other places such as wiki.ffxiclopedia.org.

During runs, each member is expected to completely follow directions from the sackholder or run leader who is leading the run. It is at the run leader's sole discretion to deny attendance credit to any member at the run whose performance negatively impacted the run.

II. Attendance and Schedule
Attendance is never required on any particular run, but lotting priority will be taken away from members who miss two weeks of consecutive runs (see section III regarding re-trial), unless there are temporary real-life issues that are the cause of the missed runs. Members are typically expected to attend at least 3 runs per week unless their reason is made clear in advance.

Our current schedule is as follows:
Sunday, 11pm Eastern time
Monday, 10pm and 12am (Midnight) Eastern time
Tuesday, 11pm Eastern time
Wednesday, 12am (Midnight) Eastern time
Thursday, 11pm Eastern time
Friday, 12am (Midnight) Eastern time
Saturday, 12am (Midnight) Eastern time

Gather times are typically 15 minutes prior to the scheduled run time. Note that we run during up to 8 time slots per week, some of which are split further into groups based on attendance, so there are typically at least 6-7 runs per week.

Runs are scheduled based on which area can complete the most possible pieces, which areas have been most recently done, and which areas have the highest priority drops.

Since Lagsave runs daily, every run taken with another linkshell is a run that cannot be done with us. If you join Lagsave you cannot be a member of another linkshell which runs Salvage. Very infrequent runs to help friends, or join shout groups, are permitted with prior approval from a sackholder, assuming attendance is not significantly impacted.

III. Trial and Re-trial
All new members will be subject to a 10 run trial which must be completed within three weeks of the first run. If a member takes longer than three weeks to complete the trial, or their performance is such that the leaders need additional time to evaluate, it may be extended depending on the member's level of attendance, by up to three runs for each additional week.

Upon taking a leave of absence from the linkshell of longer than two weeks, members must pass a five run re-trial which must be completed within two weeks of the first run the member is back for. If a member takes longer than two weeks to complete the re-trial, it may be extended by up to two runs per additional week.

Members' priority lists are not taken into account during either trial or re-trial, and may only lot on FFA armor. Trial and re-trial runs do count towards attendance totals. Upon completing trial, your priority list will be implemented immediately. After finishing retrial, your priority list from prior to taking your leave of absence will be reintegrated and your attendance record will be restored.

IV. Salvage Structure
Each of the four Salvage areas works quite differently. Please consult our guides (accessible to accepted members, link under the banner at the top) or those on wiki.ffxiclopedia.org for more information.

Each completed piece that you will create is made from several components:
1 Level 15 armor component
1 Level 25 armor component
1 Level 35 armor component
12 Synthesis items (one stack)
10 Imperial Gold Pieces

The synthesis items required vary based on the armor slot, and also vary widely in price, from ~200,000 gil per stack (legs, feet), to over 12 million gil per stack (body) with the hands and head lying in between at around 1 million and 4 million, respectively. Your wishlist (see section V) should be created taking this information into account.

The three armor pieces required to make each item are rare/ex and found in three separate Salvage areas according to this scheme:

Level 15 Bhaflau + Level 25 Arrapago + Level 35 Zhayolm
Level 15 Zhayolm + Level 25 Silver Sea + Level 35 Bhaflau
Level 15 Arrapago + Level 25 Zhayolm + Level 35 Silver Sea
Level 15 Silver Sea + Level 25 Bhaflau + Level 35 Arrapago

Level 15 armor for the head, hands, legs, and feet slots drop either randomly and somewhat rarely from regular mobs, or guaranteed from notorious monsters. Level 15 body armor drops guaranteed from notorious monsters that must be spawned with cards from different areas.

Level 25 armor drops only from bosses. Two pieces drop at random after each boss kill from the 6-7 drops the boss can potentially have.

Level 35 armor drops randomly and rarely from notorious monsters. Level 35 armor is typically the limiting factor in completing pieces of armor.

V. Lotting Priority and Wishlists
Priority is based on several factors, but the main one is the lotting wishlist that you create. Your lotting wishlist is a list of the top 5 completed armor pieces you wish to obtain from Salvage. It may comprise either all five pieces from one set, or pieces from different sets (remember that a full set, if obtained, nets an additional set-equip stat bonus). If you have an item listed as your first priority, under normal circumstances, you will have top (or at near the top) priority on that item.

Exceptions to this are for new or returning members (who will not receive priority until finishing trial/retrial) and for members who have already obtained the level 35 component needed to create a piece of armor. In order to maximize our rate of completed pieces of armor, if a member has the level 35 component needed to create a piece of armor, and that piece of armor is anywhere on his or her top five wishlist, he or she will automatically have top priority on the remaining pieces of armor which drop (unless others also have the level 35 component placed higher on their list). More detailed information regarding our priority system is accessible to accepted members.

Members who miss two weeks of consecutive runs (see section II) will have their lotting priority taken away until their attendance improves. There are no points in Lagsave; receiving armor does not reduce your priority on other armor, but attendance records are kept for general reference and for priority bumps. As extra motivation for attending regularly, for completing certain amounts of runs, a member's priority list is bumped upwards. The attendance records, as well as many other statistics, are always accessible to members.

VI. Alexandrite
The distribution of Alexandrite in Lagsave is a system based primarily on priority lists. Once a player reaches 100 runs attended, he or she will be permitted to change priority list from armor to Alexandrite. With few exceptions, a member may not lot both armor and Alexandrite with priority at the same time, and can only switch once every 50 runs. Prior to attending 100 runs with Lagsave, members are ineligible to receive Alexandrite.

The amount of Alexandrite distributed for each priority level will be based on our drop rate at the time and is monitored and modified if the drop rate or number of Alexandrite lotters changes significantly.
