What do you think about him? Does he really hold the keys to heaven in his hands and is he really infailably? Or do you think he's just an old bloke, trying to tell us what to do, while his thoughts and methods are more than ancient?

You know- the current Pope was a Hitler Youth. And I've personally never heard what he has to say, so I can't judge. I do like the popemobile though- lol.

I dont like him...he is an old guy that is trying to push ppl around. The pope has no power over me if I say to him "Go to HELL" well..he may have the power to order someone to kill me but...he cant call the wrath of God upon me.

Oh, yeah, he was in the HJ. That was the headlines of the papers in britain the next day when he was elected, wasn't it? mellow.gif

But then, he only was in it for a short time, he was only a child and he had no choice but to join. My grandparents were members of the HJ to. Does that make them bad persons? ohmy.gif

I would rather judge him by what he has done so far. I was kinda shocked when he was elected, because he was head of the institution that followd the Inquisition. It was kind of hard for me to believe that he would do a good job, since he is so conservative. Actually, I was worried about the role of women in the church and about other things like cooperating with other religions and about the relationship to the lutheran church (öhm, wrong expression maybe) in Germany.

He isn't as bad as I expected him to be, still I'm not covinced, yet.

I know lots of people had no choice to join the hitler thing, so of course they're not bad people. Unless they are bad people anyway, which I highly doubt. It's just I've never actually heard the Pope's views on things, except the media saying something about him being rude to Muslims, which didn't go down too well- I don't know if that was the papers just exaggerating though. I'd need to hear what he has to say before making opinions though.

Oya.. that one.. Something about.. Islam is identical with 'sword' (as in violence) ?

Afterwards the Pope held a meeting with representatives from 22 Muslim's countries, and met a relieving conclusion.. The Pope Benedictus had learn from his previous 'mistake', and were now understanding the vision about plurality, when some kind of insensitivity towards other religion could be result on ugly global issue...
Really, Christians are now 1,8 billion and Muslims are 1,3 billion, and the world is getting smaller and smaller because of globalization and there's no way for us to... avoid each other from direct contact. So to organize a dialog between those two is necessary. (Especially with all misunderstanding and misconception towards Islam, as the most misunderstood religion in the world, including the jihad and such.. Take Firetongue for instance,, she previously didn't have any idea of Islam--but now she's an expert. LOL)

I'm not sure about numbers but I guess that at least half of world population believe in God/god. The bad thing is that half of believers believe in one god and the second in other and those 2 gods hate each other happy.gif -Hope u get it so far happy.gif
The worst thing - if will half of the population start fighting other one won't be smiling from distance because Earth is too small for this.
Why do i think so? Look what has he done with his last speeche about islam dry.gif
