We are happy to announce that the Anime Society Charity All Nighter will be held on:
FRIDAY 13TH MARCH TO SATURDAY 14TH MARCH It's starts at 7pm, same time as normal screening and ends sometime Saturday morning. Woot this is rather fantastic yes/yes! For those that don't know the profit we make goes to charity, we only take enough of the money to cover the running cost such as guild sercurity, auction stuff etc everything else goes to charity! This years charity is Cancer Research UK http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/ who do great work helping people and the families of people with all types of cancer and researching into improving treatments. On the subject of cancer Chris Kay will be starring in the fantastic play Wit and I highly recommend you see it because both he and the play will be amazing. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2947...98523448&ref=ts General Points: - Please register as a member with the Guild, this is very important for insurance purposes and to stop the Guild getting annoyed at us. You can register online at www.lgos.org/membership. - We will have a tuck shop selling sweets and drinks. -Extra clothing layers are advisable for the small hours when the sugar starts wearing off. -We cannot stop you from drinking alcohol but you're more likely to survive the night without it and if you are sick because you've drunk too much then we will make you clean it up no matter how bad you feel. The rooms this year will be: -Screening room -Events room -RPG room -Games room - Games consoles mainly but everyone is welcome to bring board games, card games, party games etc -Sleeping room Screening room - We will not be showing what we normally show at screenings but a collection of films, ovas, episodes of series etc. - Please suggest animes you would like to see and give us enough notice to download them (the Thursday night before the Allnighter is not recommended as it's doubtful we will have time to find the anime). -During events such as the charity auction we will not be screening anime. Games Room - Please bring your own consoles, moniters, DS chargers etc as the society will NOT be providing them. - Your consoles and moniters etc will not be covered by Guild insurance and niether LAS or the Guild can accept responsibility for any damage (but I'm sure there will not be anything like that) - Here is the thread http://z7.invisionfree.com/LAS_forum/index...?showtopic=1634 on who's brining what etc - It may be an idea for people brining television or large amount of equipment to see if they can lodge it with someone who lives near uni before or after the event if you live far away. - We also welcome board games, card games and party games etc and these do not have to be played in the games room. RPG Room: - A list of games shall be announced at the begining of the night and put up on the door of the room. -Only one game to be run at a time. -Please keep games to the assigned RPG room, otherwise we will stop the game if it is disrupting other rooms or events. - Dave will be in charge of running this room so any questions he's the person to ask. Events Room: -Some of our members suggest a AMV/random disco so this will be happening when there are no main events going on (like the auction and quiz). -If you want certain music to be played just bring it in on a memory stick or cd. Cosplaying: -We highly encourage cosplaying (it's not required though but if you can please do) . -You do not have to cosplay anyone from an anime series, people from games, animated films etc are allowed, if you're not sure please ask. -Only mostly handmade cosplays will be allowed to enter the cosplay compertition, of course you can buy things like shoes or accesories but the majority of the costume must be handmade. -All copslays can enter the cospaly conga whether brought or made -Please bring a picture of who you are cosplaying if you can, as not everyone may not be familiar with the charecter you are cosplaying -If you are cosplaying a charecter that Sazzy likes she is allowed to randomly hug you because of it xD If you do have any questions feel free to ask them either on the forum, on our facebook page or by messaging one of the officers . VERY IMPORTANT: HAVE FUN |

Various things such as figurines, plushies, novelty items, t-shirts, bags, keyrings and more from popular anime and the series we have been watching at the screenings as well as games merch and random stuff from Japan are the things that are generally up for sale.
I hear our auction stuff has arrived today, but it's at Pam's house so I haven't seen it yet (I'm told it looks awesome though) but in a few days I can probably tell you more details if you want them when I've seen the goods ^^ |

Can I plug my play then? It's about cancer, after all?
On a side note, what's this aboot games consoles? Will they be set up? If so, can I bring my own games for a little late-night Eternal Sonata grinding (it's suitably anime and I can set the language to japanese). |

I have plugged your play (see above) and will be there on either the Tuesday or Wednesday to see you.
There's a thread for the console stuff has now been set up here http://z7.invisionfree.com/LAS_forum/index...?showtopic=1634 (You can keep the language in English if you like, though Japanese coukld be amusing) |

Why thank you :D
Seeing it in Japanese will be hillarious, I'm trying to work out the projector for you and if it will work with an Xbox. I'll let you know as soon as I do if you'll be able to use it. |

A huge thank you to everyone who came to the Allnighter and/or helped organise it in any way it was a fantastic night. We have raised over £800 for Cancer Research UK and we will give you the exact figure when we have collected and counted all the money.
If you still owe us money for auction stuff could you please give it to us before Easter. At screenings will probably be easiest but if there are any problems message any of the officers and we will sort something out with you. Next Event is the Pyrates vs Ninjas party on the 23rd and more details can be found on that thread. |
