Now that you know how Kamille developed, its time to populate the village with your own characters! Here are some rules to follow:

1. Race:

There are four basic races in this world: Elves, Humans, Half Elves, and Dwarves. Anyone can play these characters from the very beginning. There are three other races in the form of Half-Monsters, Mermaids/Mermen, and Vampires that can be created after specific requirements have been met.

Though the races do not actually effect progress in the village regarding skill levels, it adds to the creativity in posts. Maybe your character is an Elf and can hear monsters in the distance before her Human friend can. Maybe you’re character is a Dwarf and claims to be the best blacksmith. Or maybe you’re a Vampire, and prefer not to go out in the daylight. Race only adds to the role play possibilities.

For more in depth information on each race please take a look at the following posts in this topic.

2. Professions:

Professions are some of the most important pieces of your character. Everyone needs an income! Whether you choose to be a farmer, or run a shop in the village is up to you. The village needs to grow, but it needs people to provide services. If the village is missing a blacksmith, create a character to fill in the part. If we already have 5 farmers, you can still be one too. Maybe you farm different types of crops. If you're a monster tamer, don't feel limited to raising only monsters that give you produce. You can raise and breed Claw Dragons or Chitters if you really want. When it comes to professions, try to be creative and different. But make sure it fits the character you're going for.( More on professions is covered in the Profession section of the rules)

3. Village:

In Kamille there are two villages: Kamille Village, and the mysterious Diamond Hollow.

Kamille is full of humans, elves, dwarves, and the like that either came through the mountains, escaping the destruction of the old village, or simply wandered in from another town. It is a bright and cheerful place that values the growth of the community above all else.

Diamond Hollow is the old village of the Monster Folk, the formerly outcasted residents beyond the Zuring Forest. Due to its proximity to the Onyx Cavern, it is forever cloaked in winter weather. Since its discovery by the Kamille villagers, the Monster Folk have been trying to establish good relationships with the new village.

4. Application:

To keep track of your character, please fill out the Character application below. Fill out every point with as much detail as possible and post it in the Pending Application forum. If the profile is not complete and not marked as a WIP (work in progress), an admin will move it to the Incomplete Applications forum. Feel free to add in any other points you wish or to decorate the form with pictures and post templates. Just be sure to tell us as much about your character as you can, in as much detail as you can. You may have multiple characters, but no more than you can handle, and we do ask that you make some progress with your first character before you make more.

(add in anything else you want to say about your character. This section is optional if you've filled out everything you wanted to.)

5. Progress and Inventory:

Once your character is created and accepted, the next step is to start your progress posts. In the progress and inventory forum, there are subforums to organize every aspect of your progress on the site. There you keep track of your heart rates, inventory, tamed monsters, skill levels, and Seals your character has earned. You can also post a Journal in the Journals forum to keep track of topics you've been in, or whatever else you want to use it for.

6. Seals:

A fun aspect of Kamille aside from role playing is earning Seals. Seals are achievements that your character can earn by completing certain tasks. You can earn seals by raising skill levels, attending festivals, completing events, and all sorts of other things. Currently, there is a Seal list in the Kamille Codex, but not all of the seals are listed here. Some are special and hidden until a character earns them. Collect as many seals as you can. Not only are they fun little pictures to show off, but they can be a shortcut to unlocking new character races!

If you need some help filling out an application, feel free to look at the applications of accepted members or ask around for suggestions in the Cbox.

Humans

Humans are the most common race in Norad. They are balanced equally between physical and magical strength. Though they can use magic, usually only scholars can use it easily, and most need staves or other magical objects or weapons to control it. Human magic isn't as strong as an elf's but it gets the job done.

Unlike elves and dwarves, human senses do not extend to the world of the spirits. As such, they are not as in tune with nature and the magical world. If the spirits are angered, humans will probably sense a melancholy feeling, but they won't be able to pinpoint the cause.

Aside from this, humans have great strength if they train daily, and are very skilled with all weapons and forms of farm work.

Elves and Half-Elves

Though not as common as humans, Elves do populate a large amount of Norad. Their most noticable feature are their long pointy ears. Elves are a very magical race, but are not as physically strong as humans and dwarves. Despite this, many elves are skillful with swords and can fight as well as any other human. Strength may not be their strong point, but their skill makes up for that.

Unlike humans, Elves are very much in touch with the spirits' world and are very strong magic users. They can easily sense the spirits wherevery they go, and react to the fluctuation in the spirits own emotions. When the spirits are angry, it effects the elves. The same goes for rune energy. When rune energy is strong, elves sense it immediately.

Since they are such naturally strong magic users, elves do not need magical weapons to control their magic. Some use them to refine and strengthen their own magic, especially if they don't use it often though. This, of course, is not necessary.

Half-Elves hold many of the same qualities of elves. They are known to be slightly stronger physically, though their magical qualities tend to be on the same level. However, being of mixed blood, Half-Elves are not as sensitive to the Spirits' World and the changes in Rune Energy. However, they can feel it to some extent.

Dwarves

Though there is a common myth that Dwarves are a race short in stature, this is not so. They tend to grow to the height of many normal humans, but can easily be told apart from the slightly more magical race. Dwarves, like elves have pointed ears, though not as long, and usually have unusual defining characteristics; whether it be silver eyes, or strange, but natural, markings.

Despite being similar to elves in appearance, Dwarves are on the opposite side of the spectrum. They are more in touch with nature than humans, but Dwarves tend to hold little to no magical power, even with magical weapons. On the plus side, they have unmatched physical strength, enabling them to use any type of weapon, even the heaviest hammer. Dwarves also have a natural resistance to many of the natural elements. They can withstand the hottest fire or the coldest blizzard with ease.

Monsterfolk
200 post count or 15 seals required

The Monsterfolk are a strange breed of unknown origins. They exhibit characteristics similar to monsters while having a main, human-like appearance. Some Monsterfolk even have the ability to transform into the monster they have the blood of at will. Because of this, they have a great advantage in unarmed combat, but only when in monster form. In monster form, they cannot use weapons.

The Monsterfolk are a very magical race, similar to the elves, and are known to have lifespans longer than normal humans. This is probably because of their monster blood. They also have the ability to communicate with monsters, and understand the monster language. Because of this, Monsterfolk start out with a Level 5 in Communications.

While they mainly live in the wild, or Diamond Hollow, the Monsterfolk are allowed to live in Kamille if they so choose. Just note that the majority do not live in the village, unless they have wandered from foreign lands.

Merfolk
200 post count or 15 seals required

The Merfolk are similar to the Monsterfolk in that they have features that resemble water dwelling creatures. The difference is that the Merfolk originate from the sea, and it is rare to see any make a life on the land. Usually, when swimming in the ocean, the Merfolk have the upper body of a human, and a fish tail instead of legs. However, when they come onto land, their fish tail transform into legs, so they are able to walk. When it rains though or any time they get wet, a Mermaid or Merman's legs will turn back into fins!

The Merfolk are much like humans in terms of magical capability, but tend to be very efficient with water magic. They also like using spears as weapons, preferring the long reach while underwater. Like Monsterfolk, the Merfolk can speak with Fish, and therefore start with a Level 5 Fishing Skill.

Vampires
500 post count or 30 seals required

The Vampires are an ancient and mysterious race. Very few still live to this day. They are known to be nocturnal, but despite legends, can walk in the sunlight. Since the darker days of past, most Vampires do not drink blood. It is unknown whether they have simply outgrown that habit, or have better self control. However, Vampires do have allergies to garlic, and still like to eat red things, including tomato juice and strawberries.

Another myth states that a lonely Vampire can split their soul into two separate pieces, giving themselves a twin counterpart. Myths will stay myths, but it is a fact that Vampires are highly skilled in the magical arts, and know vast amounts of knowledge. Because of this, Vampires will start with a Level 10 Magic Skill, and a Level 5 Alchemy Skill.

There are very few Vampires in existence and the ones near Kamille seem to live in the Diamond Hollow. If they feel they will be accepted in the village, or prefer not to live in everlasting winter, they can move.
