My thoughts on the reaction to the reaction to the ending to "Mass Effect 3..."

I had a listen and...

- You're articulate and coherent (unlike me), so you're not boring to listen to, even if I only played through Mass Effect 1 and have not yet gotten to the sequels... and I'd only vaguely heard that a couple peeps were a bit disappointed by the ending of the 3rd.
Point is I listened anyway.
- Normal people couldn't even finish Ghosts and Goblins the 1st time, let alone the 2nd.

On the less positive...
- The intro song is too long. Not the case on the outro, so I guess it evens out.
- You can be quoted as saying that Freddy Prinze Jr is pretty awesome.
- Huge amounts of background noise. Sounds like white noise, and it's loud enough that I'd suspect you'd lose listeners because of it.

I have to assume a bad microphone is to blame. Is it attached to a webcam, or the built-in mic of a laptop? Even the bottom priced consumer level microphone should sound better. You're recording a conversation, not a philharmonic orchestra, so there's no need to spend hundreds of dollars for a mic.
However... it could also be due to microphone placement. If you put it next to your PC fan, it's gonna pick up a lot of unwanted noise. Also, electric and audio cables don't go well together... but it usually takes damaged or cheaper than cheap cables for that to audibly happen this loud.
Lastly, I guess it could be due to an awfully bad sound card, though... again, would have to be damaged or something to produce that much noise...

Anyway... in short, I'd surmise that this background noise would be the only thing standing between you and podcast fame and fortune!

You're right about the background noise...I blame it on the microphone, as the only thing on in the room was my computer. I'll try to wash it out the next time through.

I rushed to get stuff done before I went on vacation, expecting the card to be out and the deadline to have come and gone before I came back and here we are nearly a week later and heatwave's still not here. My stuff for the next set of shows is already in the can so I won't have to write anything for weeks

I do feel bad when it comes to Fighting Spirit, IPW and AWA, cos all three feds deserve MOM attention but it's hard to include it in while having so much PVW, UWF and MBC stuff to read lately. That aside, the last two weeks I could've had the PVW, UFW, MBC stuff done in a podcast and gotten to at least some of the AWA, IPW & FS stuff but alas, I have been busy with other stuff. That being said.. MOM13 is in production. It's in two parts cos of some technical issue, and PVW Shockwave will be in part 2. I am fixing to load up Part 1 so...
