Okay, think back, horrible gimmick matches or whatever, blimps, jets and automobiles. I know of the Meatman Challenge but I don't know what it is. Set me up people~!
Oh, and a link will do as readily as a typed explanation. Danke. -------------------- And it was at this moment that the entire world realized, in unison, that tandem bicycles were AWESOME~!

There is the straightjacket match, which takes place in a steel cage. Both wrestlers are tied up in in straightjackets.
The usual story here is that the heel cheats to escape his straightjacket (rigged arms, hidden knife, etc.), pummels the face, the face manages to fight back in spite of that disadvantage and, in the end, manages to free his arms as well (by pure strength, mistake of the heel, worn down material). On equal ground again, the face gets his revenge. I saw that match debut in FWLI and used in a feud in GLCW ... where it did not work so well as in its debut. Then there was the Ice Block Cage match, where a belt was encased in ice and it had to be removed from the cage for the win. My memory of that match is hazy but it stuck with me for some reason. |

The match itself takes place over IIWF's Birthday bash PPV. Here are some links:

And do so many infamous matches have "Meat" in the title? |

I've tried explaining it multiple times but it always falls short. Okay, try this again. A wrestling ring is 20' across, maybe 24. Take a hanging platform of equal size/shape and hang it over the ring. A 6' guy could barely grab the edge of the platform from the top turnbuckle. In the middle of the platform is a 6' hole. 6' over that hole hangs the chosen weapon for the match, either something pertinent to the feud or just interesting. If you were standing on the center of the platform you could grab it but, well, there is no center; just air. The match cannot end until that weapon is retrieved. After it is retrieved the match ends only after a knockout (10-count) is scored. One can assume that there will be ladders available to aid in ascending the platform but they are not officially part of the match. I should've just drawn some stuff to go with it but, as usual, I got no damned spare time. -------------------- And it was at this moment that the entire world realized, in unison, that tandem bicycles were AWESOME~!

Makes sense. It's basically a scaffold/platform directly over the ring with a hole in the middle and a weapon hanging above it all dead center. It would suck for people sitting in the nose bleeds as they wouldn't be able to see the bottom ring except through the tiny hole. |
