Totally haven't gotten around to putting up the Saturday Night Superstar for the Anniversary Show. I'll try and do that tonight...

...unless someone wants to do it for me before I get home! Eh?! EH!?! EHHEHEH?!?!?!?

Blue obviously will be voting for Anton Layton.

While I'm here...was anybody else disappointed that the "cage match" was really a Cell match?  I just couldn't get into it like I wanted to from the start because that surprise gimmick seemed to foretell another screwjob finish.

Though the claw/claw reversal on the cage was a nicely done.

And...my unlikely winner for biggest LOL moment on the show:

BW: Look at my arm, Gordo - I got goosebumps!

GM: Please put your arm down.

It probably wasn't supposed to be a cell, actually. I'll cop to screwing that up.

Blue said a "big cage." But at the same time, I was working on promos for IPW, specifically, for the cell match between Martinez and Cassel, so in typical absent minded professor fashion, I think I confused "big cage" for "cell."

Well, it didn't have a roof... so big cage sorta equaled cell minus roof.

They're a bunch of Mary Sues.

They don't always win. They just don't lose. They are the Daniel Bryans of e-wrestling!

Speaking as an unbiased, non-partisan reader, I'm sick of the Lynches always winning. spam.gif

On a side note, I was just curious what people thought of the VU/Lynches cage match in comparison to their other two meetings.

I feel so out of touch with so many of these "remember when..." angles we honor. I think I'm a few years behind most of you (I'll be doing this when you're all dead and there's nobody left to play with, I tell you) so I don't remember any of this stuff. Does 24/7 play old school 80s stuff in chronological order or anything so I could watch old angles and such play out on demand or is it just hit or miss? I had it briefly and if I remember correctly, that's how it worked.

24/7 is in some weird limbo now. The WWE sent out an announcement late last year that they were discontinuing it in January so a lot of carriers (including mine) dropped it. However, some carriers apparently had deals in place to carry it through April when the new network was supposed to launch. Since the network got delayed, those same carriers kept showing it and WWE kept supplying content.

So, basically... 24/7 exists if you're lucky and doesn't if you're not.

But to answer your question, the only things they were showing chronologically were WWF's Prime Time Wrestling, the ECW TV shows, and NWA/WCW's Saturday Night shows (the latter of which was my favorite thing to watch every month.) So, you could kinda sorta tell when stuff was going to come up.

From my experience recently though, I've found that a good mix of YouTube, Daily Motion, and WWE's own website which just got revamped to offer a bunch of full matches and highlights fits the hole left by 24/7 pretty nicely.

My provider didn't carry 24/7, but did offer the shows. Now I have to pay for them if I want to watch them when they were all free. I got hosed.

Actually, most of the time I'm just bluffing and making stuff up. Nobody has ever called me out on it, so I assume that everyone is doing the same.

Back to the show, I thought the main event was an excellent homage to that famous Moondogs vs Von Erichs cage match from 1982.
