Sorry for the delay on this, folks -- there was lots of snow at Tahoe, and the snow bunnies were plentiful. So.. yeah, I don't think any of us left till Thursday. And of course, we got to Reno.. it might not be Vegas, but.. let's just say there is plenty to do that isn't legal in the other 49 states. And, I'll leave it at that.

This blog will serve as an update on all the happenings here in Pacific Northwest Wrestling. Things that happened backstage or after the show, rumors, news, things like that.. and usually, the next card, too. Sometimes, El Thriller likes to be secretive and not tell the talent what they're doing on the next show, so I won't always be able to release the card. This, however, ain't one of those times. I'll get to that in a minute. First some of the other stuff:

* After her match at Maelstrom, Mariko Shimada was chatting with a PNW staffer about her tag match, specifically, her tag team opponents, Hannah Kristian and Holiday Rhodes. Really, she didn't say much about Rhodes -- but she said plenty about Kristian, and none of it was in the neighborhood of complimentary. Of course, when Mariko turned around to leave, the Hunter Killer was standing right behind her, and Mariko quickly begged off.

* I told you in the show recap that the rumor was that Shaun Covell refused to sign a contract with PNW unless Chris Colton would guarantee him a match with Brandon Young, the man he has attacked at the past two Maelstroms. Well, it didn't take long for Chris to make that happen -- although, perhaps not under the circumstances Shaun wanted. He and Brandon are booked against one another at this next Maelstrom, but in tag team action.

* We saw Shelby Braddock-Burns score the win for her team in the first round of the PNW Tag Team Championship tournament, with her reluctant partner, "The Sexiest Man Alive" Jason Tendo. The two had an icy exchange after the match, with Shelby calling Jason "pathetic" and Jason implying that Shelby had a monthly visitor. Backstage, Jason apparently tried to pick up Shelby again, but she would have none of it. There has been a lot of talk, though, about Shelby and her sister, Kyra Braddock. We hear they may be another member of the Braddock Family on his or her way to PNW.

* Jayde Griffen, long-time girlfriend of "X-caliber" Xander Keegan, probably had to turn her phone off this week. Keegan would not answer any questions about his confrontation with Bruce Saotome and L.A. Jackson at the end of Maelstrom, either from wrestling bloggers or Bruce and L.A. themselves. Jayde was scheduled to appear at Maelstrom as well, but was in Japan for another booking and the horrible weather in the northwest lately caused her to miss a flight back to the States. We know she will be at Maelstrom on Feb, 3, and if Xander's not talking, you can bet several people will ask Jayde what's going on.

And now, the card for PNW Maelstrom! Let me tell you folks, if you thought you saw some talent last week, there's even more to come this week, including the returns of Jayde Griffen, Kyra Braddock, Kazuki Shimizu and Chris Colton's personal legal counsel, "Barely Legal" Jessie Jensen. Plus, we have a main event that makes me thinks the random drawing was rigged, for more reasons than one!

Lawlor Events Center, Reno, NV

We have three first-round matches in the Tag Team Tournament, a pair of women's singles matches, and a men's tag team match that might go a long way to settling the score between Brandon Young and Shaun Covell -- or it might just be another chance for Jax Havik to.. well.. wreak havoc. Sorry for unfortunate turn of phrase -- honest, I didn't see it coming. Not only that, but our main event is a match in the supposedly randomly drawn tag team tournament, but it pairs up long-time partners Jayde Griffen and Xander Keegan. Not only that, but they're up against the team of L.A. Jackson and Jan Delgado, just a week after Keegan more or less turned his back on his former friend!

God I miss PNW. Somehow thought this was from 2010 LOL! Wishful thinking I guess. Should really hound Mitch about getting this thing going again. That'd be awesome!
