BASTARD STAMPEDE MONDAY FIGHTS
------------------------------
June 19th, 2006
at: Max Belle Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
The Max Belle Centre was sold out once again as the second week of Bastard Stampede action got underway. With the Frontier Union Champion already crowned, it was time for the Tag Team and Women's Championship to go up for grabs. Hosting the nights events were "Big Daddy" Mike Hurt and Lady Bertha.
BLACK MADISON vs. ALICE "DASH" DEVLIN vs. TAMARA JACKSON
-----------------------------------------
In the opening match of the night, you could not ask for a greater contrast of styles. With Black Madison you had the sleek and seductive martial arts skills. With Alice Devlin you had the swift yet technical wrestling. With Tamara Jackson... well... nobody knew. When she entered the arena wearing overalls and no shoes, people didn't know what to think of her. But when the match began, she was a scrapper, taking it right to Madison and Devlin. The match was fast paced and had very few lulls in the action. At the end, Black Madison tossed Devlin to the outside and when she turned around she fell victim to Jackson's Tommy-Kaze. Tamara would move on to the Women's Championship Final.
WINNER: Tamara Jackson
"RIGHTEOUS" ROBIN RHOADES vs. KYRA BRADDOCK vs. KARA "GECKO" TAWN
-----------------------------------------
Fresh from England, Kyra Braddock hit the ring ready for some action. Her fun loving attitude rubbed off on the fans who took to her immediately. Kara Tawn was more business like but she greeted the fans who remembered her from her time in Japan and on the West Coast. When "Righteous" Robin Rhoades entered however, it didn't take long for the crowd to turn against her. The arrogance she carried was insulting in everyway and she certainly portrayed herself to be better than every one there. Rhoades took the early lead in the match but both Braddock and Tawn pushed right back. Though her name was "Righteous", Robin certainly did not act that way, cheating often. After thumbing Braddock in the eyes and ramming her shoulder into the ring post, she attacked Tawn's ankle, which she had been favoring since early in the match. The pain was too great and Kara tapped.
WINNER: Robin Rhoades
KIRK HOUSTON and JACOB ENOS versus THE WIDOWMAKERS
-----------------------------------------
The Widowmakers had been around for quite a few years, mostly keeping to the independent circuit throughout the United States so the crowd recognized them for the most part. It didn't take long for Blackrock and Suicide to taunt the crowd and say indecent things about all their mothers. So it was easy for Houston and Enos to walk to the ring and be the instant favorites. They were all business, much like they had been in their stints in independent federations in California. Both Houston and Enos worked a technical style. No move was wasted and it proved to work well against Blackrock's power set and Suicide's daredevil theatrics. Personifying what a team is all about, Enos and Houston executed a flawless Hart Attack and won the match to go to the Tag Team Championship final.
WINNER: Kirk Houston and Jacob Enos
THE BASH BROTHERS versus ABSENCE and RAVAGE
-----------------------------------------
Both these teams were familiar to the MBC savvy crowd and it seemed that these two teams were well aware of one another's history. The match was a brawl from the opening bell as the sons of Skullhead went toe to toe with two of Vengeance's most trusted henchmen. The referee backed off and let the four men do what they would though the line was drawn at foreign objects. That didn't mean however that a few weren't snuck in. In fact, the finish to the match came when Absence cracked Darklin Skullhead in the jaw with a roll of quarters and took the pin.
WINNER: Absence and Ravage
SLASH AND BRUN versus WHITE TRASH
-----------------------------------------
White Trash was definitely a team the crowd remembered. As serious as "Trashman" Alonzo Carter and "Macho" Bob Gonzalez were about being there, the crowd couldn't help but chuckle. So when the team of Slash and Burn, escorted by their lovely manager/valet Gloria Butler, came to the ring, the crowd expected nothing but destruction. And that's what they received. Slash went hard and fast with painful strikes while Burn over powered Carter and Gonzalez with slam after slam. Gloria Butler was built like a brick house and looked like she could take White Trash all on her own. Slush joked to her that she could. But she waved him off and told him to stay focused. The match was short and to the point with Slash and Burn finishing White Trash off with a double-team maneuver they called the Firebomb Cutter
WINNER: Slash and Burn
GREG "THE ICEMAN" SMITH versus KOHL RYCOFF
-----------------------------------------
Greg Smith returned to Bastard Stampede for the second week in a row and his ovation was even greater than the previous show. He took another moment to take it all in and enjoy it before entering the ring and smashing up Kohl Rycoff. While still dressed in a wifebeater and track pants, it certainly did not reflect his performance. The ovation and cheers from the crowd prompted Smith to an inspired match against Rycoff. Despite some strong offense at the end by Kohl, Smith overpowered him and capped off the match with an Icepick.
WINNER: Greg Smith
As Smith headed to the back, Frontier Union Champion Vengeance came to the ring with his newly won belt around his waist. Smith and Vengeance crossed paths and starred one another down. Security arrived to prevent anything from starting and both went where they wanted to go. Vengeance climbed into the ring and basked in his new found glory, claiming the Frontier Union was all about hate and Vengeance. He called out a few famous Canadians and then left the ring through the crowd.
BS WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH
TAMARA JACKSON versus "RIGHTEOUS" ROBIN RHOADES
-----------------------------------------
Robin Rhoades was instantly put off by Tamara Jackson's "tom boyish" appearance. She pinched her nose and waved Jackson off as if she was a fly. Tamara simply grinned and went right after her opponent. Jackson dominated early with her brawling style but Rhoades was not about to be beaten by the likes of the overall wearing tomboy. Rhoades brought Jackson to the mat repeatedly with take downs and holds. When within reach, she grabbed the ropes and when the referee wasn't looking she pulled on Tamara's unkempt hair. The crowd was pulling heavily for Jackson and it simply got her riled up. Jackson came back like a ball of fire and hit a Tommy-Kaze to put away Rhoades and win the Bastard Stampede Women's Championship.
WINNER AND NEW WOMEN'S CHAMPION: Tamara Jackson
BS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH
KIRK HOUSTON/JACOB ENOS vs. ABSENCE/RAVAGE vs. SLASH AND BURN
-----------------------------------------
The main event of the evening had finally come and the three teams in the championship final were rested enough that it looked as if they hadn't even wrestled previously this night. The referee went over the rules of the contest and showed all three the championship gold. Gloria Butler called her men over and went over last minute strategy as a few classless individuals complimented her on her rear end. Absence and Ravage shot daggers from their eyes at both teams and the tandem of Houston and Enos discussed who would enter the ring first. It came down to Enos, Absence and Slash to begin and from there, tags were very frequent. All three teams seemed intent on not letting fatigue set into the equation though as the match went on, all six men started to show some signs of exhaustion creeping in.
Late in the match, Ravage began to rely heavily on the ropes. He tossed Jacob Enos to the outside and started to choke Burn out with the bottom rope. Gloria Butler started yelling at the referee to see what was going on, but Absence would have none of this. He jumped down from his position and took a steel chair from the ring announcer. He creeped around the ring and went after Butler with a steel chair. Jacob, while on the outside saw it coming and selflessly shielded her from the full brunt of the blow. An annoyed Houston waylaid Absence from behind and told Butler to get out of his way. He chastised his partner and rolled Jacob back in when it seemed he had recovered from the chair shot enough. With Enos back in the ring, he went right after Ravage, knocking him to the mat with a dropkick. With Burn now free, Kirk Houston seized the chance to pull him out of the ring and nail him with a steel chair, unbeknownst to his partner. Jacob pulled Ravage into a Death Valley Driver and got the three count before any of the other participants could stop it.
WINNER AND NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: Kirk Houston and Jacob Enos
The referees handed the championship belts to Houston and Enos. Enos raised his title in victory but was concerned to see what looked like had happened outside. Before he could question, Houston pulled him to the back. Gloria Butler helped her men to the back, leaving Absence and Ravage to taunt the crowd before the show ended for the night.
