Most of us dabble in making our own settings, some of us even get into making our own games.

I am working on a D20 game set in a LARP world that I helped create.

Whats going on behind the construction tape at your table?

I'm working on a setting in which humanity, aided by post-human 'superheroes', reach for the stars only to be caught between the political and military machinations of two galactic civilizations.

I'm hoping for a breath-taking setting of politics, social upheaval, and philisophical podering interspersed with space battles and personal sacrifice.

I'll settle for everyone having fun. biggrin.gif

Dictionary of Mu, my Sorcerer mini-supplement, is getting there in a hurry.

Next up is my d20 project and 1st Quest, both have been on the back-burner for quite a while now.

I have a lot on my plate, besides diss work and taking care of my recovering wife :-). Let's see:

working on a novelization of my current D&D campaign, with tons of changes;

drafting the outline for my game world as a possible d20 OGL supplement, complete with a new magic system and some noodling with True 20 rules;

working on a trial module submission for WotC's RPG Design Test;

submitting a few queries to Dragon Magazine;

putting together some ideas for a d20 Urban Arcana summer mini-campaign set in the Torn World setting that I used for one of my GYGOathon games;

sketching out some ideas for a possible Nocturnals campaign (which I keep promising to get rolling, but which keeps getting derailed by life);

spitballing some thoughts for my next D&D campaign (I think the current one will be ending this fall).

There is no deadline. A friend pointed it out to me in October, and I am just now taking an adventure I wrote a few years ago and putting it into the proper format. It is basically a way for them to find new freelancers, but I'll take any chance to get my work out there! cool.gif

Well, having just finished Cold City and sent the text out for proofing and editing, I'm now off and working on Everlasting Empire, which is far more light hearted. Imagine Arthur C Clarke-meets-Dan Dare-meets-H G Wells, British Empire In Space, art deco interstellar craft, men with moustaches, ladies with cigarette holders, jolly good show all round, what ho!

Looking forward to seeing Dictionary of Mu, by the way.

Cheers

Thanks, Malcom. I can't wait to see what kind of post A|State stuff you come out with and Cold City sounds keen.

Do you reckon Everlasting Empire is going to be out for Gen Con?

I have my pipe primed and ready.

Awesome, the game with the smoking stat. It will pipes and cigars for me, can't stand cigarets.

Considering I am non smoker, I wonder why I am so jazzed about this part of the game.

Sadly, no, EE won't be out for GenCon. Probably looking towards the end of the year for that one, what with playtesting and so forth having to take place.

Yeah, the smoking stat. That's the one bit that's actually pretty concrete at the moment in terms of what it does in game. Ridiculous concept really! biggrin.gif

I will just have to contain myeslf and satisfy my urge to roleplay smoking some other way.

I’m working on a homebrew. Each player, plays themselves as superheroes but the GM chooses the powers. Few superheroes ever get to pick their powers. One player/character is a local cop, he get the amazing power of grant writing. This may sound like a lousy power, but he gets any police equipment and training he wants. I told him to be a Punisher/Nick Fury character. I’m trying to give them power close to what they like in real life. Another gets fire magic, and the girl who likes auto racing get amazing driving abilities, and kick boxing.

Well, you never know. I'll probably have enough done to run an after hours game of EE at the Embassy Suites or similar. You your desire for smoking-related games activity may be satisfied!
