Title: Yu-Gi-Oh! Bonds Beyond Time to air on YTV!
Mohji - June 26, 2011 07:20 PM (GMT)
According to Zap2it, Yu-Gi-Oh! Bonds Beyond Time will be airing on YTV...in a time slot very reminiscent of Bionix's last gasp at life.

What's currently listed on Zap2it as "Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time" will be airing on the night of Saturday, July 9th at 12:00AM (effectively Sunday morning). This is right now the only scheduled time slot for the film.
What makes this particularly surprising is the fact that the movie has yet to see a DVD release in any English-speaking region, and has not yet aired on any American channel. Yet here's YTV, premiering the movie at midnight on a Saturday. Unbelievable.

This can't be real. First of all, it's the Japanese title. Second of all, wat.

This has got to be false. Considering what 4kids has been going through lately.
Although if it is the original Japanese subbed, then awesome. But that's highly unlikely.

Zap2it would not make a huge error randomly like this. The only similar instance that I can recall is back in 2008, when Bleach: Memories of Nobody was accidentally scheduled on Zap2it to air at 9:00am, when it was in fact meant to air at 9:00pm.
Even if the movie does not air at that time, this pretty much confirms that YTV has the film licensed and may air it at any time.
As for 4Kids, they still have full rights to everything and anything Yu-Gi-Oh!-related, until their contract is voided by a judge.

I could see the film airing at 12PM, replacing the super anime block for the day, but then again that wouldn't work, seeing as how Redakai premieres that same day within that 2 hour time span.
I wouldn't be entirely shocked if this is just Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: The Pyramid of Light with a midnight screening.
Though as I mentioned in the blog post. As Mohji has pointed out, it appears YTV will be airing the next 5Ds season, "Road to Destiny". That specific block of episodes was sold to international networks by 4Kids alongside this film. So YTV could very well have the broadcast rights.
Just as a note, I also sent my write-up on the blog to ANN. Whether or not they pick up on the story is their prerogative, as while the write-up does go into speculation, and my personal opinion, there is still legitimate news there (with this, and the questionable DVD release).

I'm not sure if the film was sold together with Road to Destiny, I believe they were listed separately on the MIPTV guide. But then again, it is all Yu-Gi-Oh, so they may have sold it together.
I suppose they could just be airing Pyramid of Light, but if that turns out to be the case it would be a pretty huge screw-up on Zap2it's end.

Looks like a false alarm:

Still, a very unusual error for Zap2it to make. I believe that past airings of the film were listed correctly as "Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie". I think the only way to know for sure will be to tune in at midnight to find out.

Yeah, I just looked that up. Seems like a false alarm.

Yeah, Pyramid of Light is airing right now. Pretty ridiculous mistake on Zap2it's part, though.
