Nominate

Villano III vs. Rambo (6/14/2001)

There were two segments in this match, first segment being all matwork and at the midpoint, it turning into a fierce bloody brawl. The matwork had a lot of really neat touches and counters like Rambo using headbutts to Villano's chest to break his neck bridge, and the moment where they had each other tied up in a double headlock was really cool. This felt like it was an old dogfight, and it gets better when at the midpoint, Villano III just gets all worked up and hits a big headbutt to get things really heated up. Second part of the match turns into a great brawl, and the moment where both buys are on their knees, dripping in blood and start exchanging headbutts and big slaps is one of my favorite IWRG moments ever. Also loved the headbiting exchange and how it ended with a charming Villano III punching combo. Rambo couldn't do those big bumps he could pull off in earlier years, but he's a true worker that doesn't need to do that here and his selling was so good. They worked towards a draw in a back and forth manner, and it was impressive how they managed to craft such an excellent brawl that leads to a rematch. The post-match stuff is also incredible, as both maestros are still selling the beatings they endured but are still trying to fuck each other up.

Villano III vs. Rambo (6/14/2001)

This was tremendous, Noodles and OJ covered it well in their reviews, but man was it good. I loved how the rolled the head and arm turns all the way to the floor, and when the blood starting flowing it was even better. This kind of thing is the reason we should be looking into older IWRG.

Nominate Villano III vs. Rambo 6/21

This is the hair match revanche from last week and may even be more awesome. Villano gets on the mike and offers a gentleman's agreement to wrestle cleanly. The first fall follow that agreement, and then the third fall is what we expect, bleeding, punching, bleeding, kicking and more bleeding. They finish with an awesome blood stoppage, which you totally buy because Rambo looks like he is going to bleed to death. Total blast and everything you would hope for from this match up.

Nominate Navarro vs. Dandy 11/8

After two weeks of trios matches, both guys get to shine in a singles, title match. There is a little of the stand off exchanges, which in 2002 (when this first circulated) wasn't an issue but may be today. Beautiful mat work, maybe the last great Dandy singles match?

This is really high on my favorite matches of the decade, lovely matwork. Is this the earliest high end Navarro match available on tape?

Yeah, as far as single matches go, this might be Dandy's last singles classic. Although he still had that awesome performance in the 2002 Dandy/U.Vampiro vs Navarro/Pantera match. I've never been a fan of Dandy vs Parka from 2004, but I assume that match has some fans.
