Sighing Kassidy inhaled the crisp wet air as she sat on the wooden swing. It was about two in the afternoon, Kass was supposed to be in class at the moment but like her usual self she ditched. She kicked her legs as she gracefully swung on the tree. It was a large Cherry Blossom or Sakura tree, most of the trees in this park were Oak. She closed her eyes as she swung letting the speed of her swing throw her into the coolness that was the wet air. Icy fingers of air swept quickly through her hair as if it were washing her thick black hair. Her lilac colored dress flowed in sync with her as she reached the peak of the parabola plunged down and then went back up. It was like a wild ride but she wasn't scared. Humming a tune she began to slow down to a relaxing pace. The grounds was her favorite place to be when she needed a place to think and relax or when she felt like ditching. And today was one of those days she felt like ditching. She managed that successfully as she was sitting there on a swing during school hours and had not yet been dragged back to the campus of The House of Night Academy.

Her close group of friends and family knew that the only reason she went to class was to humor her Aunt Edith, who taught Herbology, her "fake" brother Draco, who taught Dark Arts, her sister Serenity, who taught Ancient Runes and before she retired and left, Triv, her other sister, who was the Headmistress of the sister school, MCHSA and taught Potions. Ever since her eldest sister left she felt no reason to attend classes as often as she did. She had once held a solid five class schedual but now she only attended two classes and rarely did she ever attend three. She had thought about attending her Uncle's Astronomy class but that just meant more work for her to do. Ditching was her healthy habit, some thought it was unhealthy. Opinions other than her own and those belonging to her family didn't matter as she was Kassidy O'Connor and everyone knew that no one could force her or anyone in her family to do what they didn't feel like doing. Some had the unfortunate gift of learning that the hard way, though she didn't feel an ounce of remorse for having to teach them that lesson. Remorse was an emotion that didn't register to her system. It was something she never learned nor cared to acquire anytime soon.

Swinging in a relaxed state her eyes closed she could feel the humidity quickly drying on her skin. Her senses drowned with the smell , taste and feel of rain. Having been raised in England she knew when it was about to rain. This would be a light storm but then possibly turn into a heavy thunderstorm. The air was thick, she concluded that the light shower wasn't that far off. However close it was she intended to sit on the swing under the large umbrella like branched tree even if it rained cats and dogs or frogs and bats. Ditching was her pastime and intended to enjoy it to the fullest even if it meant returning to school in wet clothes.
