Convinced it's not living if you stand outside the fire

John Winchester took a deep breath as he sat in this truck – his old truck. He had managed to steal it from Bobby. He really didn’t know why he was stealing his own truck from Bobby, but he didn’t want anyone knowing he was back. Maybe he should have stolen another truck. No he needed his hunting supplies and luckily for him his weapons were still in the truck. The only thing that was missing with the Colt, but he really didn’t care about that gun anymore. In fact, it brought back bad memories. He was glad it was gone.

The elder Winchester was sitting in a hotel-type parking lot debating if he should go into the restaurant. He remembered on his travels that this place was just like the Roadhouse, but was it worth to walk into a place with hunters. Hopefully these hunters didn’t know about him. He really wasn’t in the mood to be shot at or killed. He just wanted a nice meal and a beer. He took the keys out of the ignition and closed his eyes for a bit before moving his left hand to open the door of his truck. He opened the door and stepped out.

Once John had stepped out of his truck he gently closed the door and placed the key to lock the door of his truck. He then headed inside the place praying that no one noticed him. The place was rather loud and that was a good thing as John made his way towards the bar. He found an empty chair at the bar and sat down at the stool. He wasn’t sure if this was a good idea or not to be here, but it didn’t matter. He needed a drink and a meal. So this is what he was going to do. He waited for the bartender or barmaid to take his order as he tapped his thumbs on the counter.

Home again. Juliet had seemed to be spending more and more time here in Malibu as opposed to hunting. There were jobs around where her family lived, and usually within a day's drive, it wasn't like she stopped hunting entirely. She was sort of like a part time hunter, and the other hunters around her would ask her for help dealing with certain monsters. In particular the ones with equine lore attached to them, like kelpies, gytrash, mallet horses and the like. Also with things dealing with research. She would help out when she could.

That last hunt with Sam was actually refreshing to her. The chupacabra nest was vanquished, and her horses could rest easy. So she spent the days after the Winchester boy had left in her family's business, tending to the various facilities including riding lessons, and bar tending. However, today she was in the bar attending to the patrons of her family's business. She was in her normal little black pencil dress and pink plaid blazer. She kept a professional look while she worked, even if the place was a more casual one. Juliet also still had her charm bracelet, the one with the protective charms, on her wrist and all of her other effects.

It was then that a new patron entered the bar. Juliet was currently attending to a table, but she was manning this bar on her own, since her parents had gone out for a few errands. As soon as she had finished here she turned to this new man. “Good afternoon, Sir,” Juliet said, “my name is Juliet, and I will be your bartender today. What can I get for you?” There was something familiar about this gentleman, she just couldn't put her finger on it. She wouldn't press the matter until later.

John had always come to this place when he was in California and he enjoyed this place. It reminded him of the roadhouse, but instead of not being welcome to the roadhouse because of that incident in which he accidently killed Bill – Ellen’s husband. He wasn’t welcomed to that place anymore and it kind of sucked, but it didn’t in all honesty he was glad that he wasn’t allowed back at the roadhouse there were other roadhouses in North America, but some of them were shattered across the nation and it was hard to keep track of them all.

The elder Winchester tapped his fingers on the bar table awaiting for someone to take his order. Usually the place he would have already placed his order in if he remembered right, but it seemed that the place was a little busy and that one person was running the show. He kind of hated when one person was working the waiting and stuff, but a thought came across his mind that it was better than getting tortured 24/7 in Hell. He smiled when the waitress or barmaid headed for him. Finally he was going to get some service.

She introduced herself as Juliet. He wondered why she seemed familiar. He knew the two people that owned this place had a daughter named Juliet and he had never meet or encountered the daughter or he did, but he just couldn’t remember encountering her. He decided to let it not occupy his brain as his stomach growled. He was hungry and he just wanted something. “I’ll have the special and a beer please” he said with a smile. He decided to comment on the building. “Place has changed haven’t been here in years” he added. He was trying to have a small chat. It had been a long time since he chatted with someone.

Juliet was getting flustered now. There were quite a few patrons today, and she was annoyed that Ammon hadn't surfaced in the bar, like he said he would, to help her out. He said he was going to. Perhaps his kids were holding him up. Jules took this man's order, first by getting a icy cold beer, and placing it on that coaster. “All right,” Juliet said whilst getting the order to the kitchen. “Oh? So you have been here before?” Juliet asked.

As if on cue two of her older brothers came in to help with work. It only took about a few minutes for the man's order to be ready. Juliet graciously served the patron who had apparently been here before. “So you know my parents? This place as been in the family for generations,” Juliet said, “It's great to have you back then.” She smiled in a friendly manner. Juliet was always happy to see old patrons return, not just because of the money either.

There was that hunch again. This guy shared some facial similarities of Sam, the hunter she had met not too long ago. Juliet wasn't going to press the matter, but it was starting to bug her now. The similarities between them were few, but Jules could see them.

John was indeed hungry as it had been years since he eat and this was probably the only meal that he could afford. Well, he had stolen some money, but that was from the area where he had found his truck and convenience store. He had only ate some of the food in the store, but other than that he was really hungry and much to his dismay the convenience store didn’t have ice cold beer which just annoyed him and this place had to have a beer – if he remembered and he was right as his beer was placed on a coaster in front of him.

He wanted to take a drink of it, but it would seem Juliet was making small talk. Well, he did start off talking. So technally it was his fault. He was just commenting that it had changed. “Yes I have been here before” he said with a weak smile as he drank his beer. Soon his food was in front of him. “And I know your parents you could say just on a first name basis and thank you for welcoming me back,” the elder Winchester remarked as he placed his hand on his beer and cheered in the air with his beer.

He then took a sip of his beer and began to eat the special. It smelled good and he liked warm food. It was better than the donut that he had at that abandon convenience store. It just seemed odd that the store had food and money. It was abandon, but not now. He ate the special in peace and slide his plate over towards her if she was still there as he whipped himself with a napkin and drank the rest of his beer as he looked at her. It would seem to him that she had seen a ghost. “Uh Miss are you alright?” he asked raising an eyebrow
