| Castiel wanted to pitch himself, so many times he really never expected Raphael to have a change of heart. In fact, it scared him to death he wasn’t sure if he should accept the new Raphael or just ignore the fact that Raphael could turn on them within a matters of seconds. Castiel decided to keep a positive attitude towards the whole situation. He hoped that he could keep a positive attitude towards it and not be negative about the whole thing, but sometimes he could be influenced to think negative especially if he made contact with some people. He wasn’t going to name any names, but he could be so influenced by the Winchester brothers – well just one of the brother’s.
The Angel of the Lord had hung around the boy’s for a long time. Sure it had only been a year or two, but he really didn’t care. He enjoyed their company. They were like friends or something in Castiel’s mind. However, the past few weeks Castiel wasn’t much of a friend to the boy’s and was just acting like his old self. Not taking the time to even interact with the boys and just go on with his things. Sometimes Castiel wanted the old ways – the days before all this Lilith and Lucifer nonsense; before Sam said ‘Yes.’ However, nothing was simple and Castiel needed to be reminded of that. He was just being a dick and in some ways that hurt him. He wasn’t a dick like his siblings or so he thought.
Castiel was on the side of the road in a random place of the United States listening to his voice mail. Dean informed him in the voicemail to meet him at a motel in Lawrence, Kansas. He wasn’t sure why he was to meet Dean in Lawrence, Kansas of all places. He thought the whole Lawrence thing was a bit odd to place to meet, but Castiel wasn’t going to argue. He was certain Dean didn’t want to be in Lawrence as it brought back nasty memories. Oh well, perhaps they had a lead on the whole Mephistopheles guy that everyone was after. Castiel could only hope of that. Castiel took a few seconds before he hung up the phone and collected his thoughts for a moment. He placed the phone in his pocket and took a deep breath as he debated if he should meet Dean in Lawrence. It probably wouldn’t hurt. He then disappeared as he appeared in the room…

| Dean really hated surprises. Sure some of the time they were good. Hundred dollar bill on the floor, getting through a particularly nasty hunt, but Sam randomly popping up out of the blue was not one of them. Of course, the good often came with the bad, so Dean was keeping his guard up. At least until they got to Castiel. Until they had the angel figure out what in the Hell was going on. If he was even there, that is, the angel had been ducking him lately.
Pulling into the motel, Dean looked to Sam. “Alright, you stay here.” He said, and with that, was out of the car and at the front desk, checking them into a motel. Sighing, Dean returned to the car, putting it in drive and moving his baby up into the space nearest the room. Putting it in park, Dean opened the door. “C'mon, let's go.” He said to Sam, if it was Sam. Locking the doors of the car, Dean grabbed his night-bag from the trunk. It held some wepons, salt, holy water, the usual for him at night, just in case. Moving around the car, Dean moved past Sam and they approached the door, Dean slipped the key into the slot and opened the door.
Hearing the door slam behind him, Dean tossed his bag onto the bed, basically claiming it as his for the night. Opening the fridge and grabbing a beer, Dean pulled another and tossed it to Sam. Pulling the phone from his pocket, Dean dialed the number for Cas. Voice-mail, again. 'Go figure...' He thought to himself as he took a breath. “Cas, this is an emergency, and it's a big one. I need you here right now, we're in Lawrence, Kansas, just off the freeway in the Holiday Inn, Room...” He said, fumbling for the key-card. “... 101” He said, sighing and hanging up the phone. A few minutes passed and Cas popped into the room. Moving over towards him, Dean looked at Castiel. “Cas, we have a problem...” He said bluntly, moving aside and gesturing at Sam.

| Dean and Sam pulled into the motel in the 67 Chevy Impala, Dean told Sam to stay in car. “I will stay in the car Dean as always don’t worry” he told Dean as got out of the car. Sam was still use to how it use to go, Dean would get the motel while Sam would sit wait in the Impala. Sam didn’t care he actually kind of missed that old car of Dean’s, and by the looks of it Dean was still taking great care of it just like there Dad did. Sam remembers when they use to all hunt together as family in that car, man he really misses those days with there Dad.
When Dean got back they moved the car in front of there hotel room, Sam grabbed his backpack that Dean still had of his in the back seat. After that Sam got out and made his way to the motel room with Dean, they entered the room and Sam jumped from Dean slamming the room door. Sam knew then Dean was still freaking out about all of this, Sam asked “Dean are you ok? Come on man Clam down we will find out how I’m back some how I promises, just please for me relax ok.”
Sam then sat down on the motel bed to take it easy as Dean brought him a beer, “thanks for the beer man.” Sam popped open the beer and kicked back to take a drink, as Sam sat there drinking his beer he listen as Dean called Castiel, leaving a message freaking out. Shortly after that Castiel appeared in the room with them, Sam was in shock he could believe that Castiel was still alive. Sam then looked at Castiel and said “Hey Cass I’m alive! I’m so sorry for what I did to you, I tried to stop Lucifer man, but I just couldn’t do it soon enough before he killed you and Bobby. I really hope you can forgive me”

| Dean was a bit glad Castiel didn't freak out. Then again, he had never seen Castiel freak about anything. Than again, why wasn't Cas at least a bit more weirded out about this? Did the angel's have something to do with it? But Dean doubted Castiel would know, the douches up top rarely revealed anything of importance. But if it had been angel's, then why? They hated Sam, even before Lucifer was out. Uriel had been belittling them, and the arch-angel hated Sam as much as the rest of them. Though, Uriel was a traitor, so it figured.
Dean smirked at the mention of the molotov. Castiel had shown those damn angel's who was boss. Though, he'd been blown to pieces for it, so that was a bit of a downer. At least he was back though, and that was all that mattered. Nodding as Castiel forgave Sam, he decided to cheer up the room. “Ok, now that we're all one big happy family, let's talk.” He said, looking at Castiel and Sam. Turning to Castiel, he glared a bit. “First off, why the hell haven't you been answering? I've called, prayed, hell I almost went as far as offing myself to see your ass. So what the hell?” He said, sarcasm ebbing from his words.
Dean knew that the possibilities were almost endless. That there was the best chance that he was pulled by God, and the worst that a demon had gotten him out for some sort of do-over at raising Lucifer. He wasn't sure, nobody was. Sighing, Dean nodded. “Alright, well, what are the choices? Do we get a prize for guessing right?” He said, smiling to hide his slight worry over the whole ordeal.

Sam could tell that Angel was in bit of a shock at the moment, but Sam was to so he didnt blame him. He thought he had killed Castiel when Lucifer had took over him, he didnt really know what to say himself ether. Sam was just happy to see everyone alive and ok, at least they seemed to be physically he didnt know about mentally. Dean was still in shock and Sam could tell, Dean was doing a really bad job trying to hide it. "Dean calm down man it going to be ok!" Sam said to Dean while he patted him on the back. Sam was having trouble not freaking out himself with everything that had happened, he just hopes at this point they really believe it is him. How else was Sam going to prove to them that it was really him, he had all ready tried everything there was to try.
Sam then looked at Castiel and said "look Cass do you have any idea why I could be back, if not how are we going to find out man? Because Cass I'm freaking out here, I need to know why I'm back and now" Sam then sat there on the bed and listen as Castiel and Dean talked about Sam being back, from what it sound like the Angel was just as lost as they were.
Sam knew some how he was going to have to find the answers if Castiel couldn't , but how was the question. So Sam then grabbed his bag and pulled out his laptop, he decided to start and do some research of his own. Maybe Sam could figure out what they should do next.

| Dean sighed as he felt Sam's hand on his back. Moving away sharply and giving his brother a strange look, Dean looked to Castiel. Glancing to Sam, Dean pulled Cas aside. “You see what I mean? Sam's... different. He's not the same. And yeah, the whole gone to Hell thing, but c'mon Cas, this isn't normal Sam we're talking about here.” He said, looking at Cas, his eyes a bit wider than usual. Dean still hadn't been sure if it was a demon possessing Sam, though any demon could have done a better job impersonating his brother. Although it was a bit of a relief to hear from Castiel that it was his brother, Dean was also thinking another question. Where was his real brother? This wasn't the Sam he knew, not the same one he'd hunted with hundreds of times. No, something was off with him.
“What, that's it? Heaven stuff? C'mon Cas, you gotta give me something to work with here.” He said, a desperate tone in his voice. He needed something to hit, something to sink his teeth into. Anything to get his mind off of the major swing in Sam's personality. He knew that Sam was fucked up after Hell, and he was probably just playing nice with him, but to be frank, Dean was dead set against it. He'd rather have doom and gloom Sam than happy-go-lucky Sam. Mostly the fact that Sam was probably faking this crap pissed him off the most. It was one thing to put things aside to protect people, it was another to completely go off the bender and forego other's.
“Mephi-who-now? This is the big bad demon we have to gank? The one with the long-ass name i've never heard of? Yeah, he sounds tough...” He mumbled, sarcasm coming to life again. He liked Castiel and the fact the angel could make him feel somewhat better when things were going to the nut-house in here. Of course, he was still in the damn nut-house, so it wouldn't much matter to him. Raising the beer in hand, Dean finished off the bottle. If he was going to be in here with Cas and Sam, he'd need all the help he could get.

| This was the first Sam was hearing about this Mephistopheles, was guys the reason he was back? Not that Sam wasn’t happy to see Dean but why was he back? It was killing him not to know why he was here, Sam know there had to be some reason Lucifer Vessel was back. He was getting a bit annoyed with Dean, he was just trying not to think of hell and be there for his brother. But all Dean could say is that he is crazy and talk about it, it wasn’t Sam flat, didn’t know how to say or act. I mean how are you suppose be when you are back from hell anyway.
Sam was trying he didn’t know what else to say, Dean was never really going to believe it was really him. Then Sam remember something that would prove to Dean that it was him, Sam walked over to his backpack and dug in to a secret pocket. He then pulled out something from his backpack and then walked back over to Dean, Sam was holding Dean’s necklace in his hand. “I was going to give to you but I kind of forgot it and then I died so, I have had this since you threw it away. I’m sorry I couldn’t let you get rid of something that I gave you that I remembered you loved, It meant something to me man when I gave this to you” After Sam said that handed it to Dean, hoping he would be happy to see it and put it on.
Then as Sam was standing there he felt a rush of pain go threw his head, it felt like he was on fire and could not stop it. Sam hit the floor the pain, it was so bad it was killing him. He then saw flashes of something, It was him feeling like he was being rip a part over and over again, feeling like he soul was dieing slowly. Sam was rolling back and forth on the ground crying in pain yelling “Dean help! make it stop!” Sam was grunting in pain till finely it made him passed out, Sam laid there on the motel floor.

| Dean sighed at Castiel's response. “Well, I don't know, can you fix him? Is he safe to hunt with? I mean, what If he snaps or something and goes ballistic?” He said. He was completely serious in fact, as he'd been through the Hell experience before. Sure, his wasn't as bad, but Dean could take it. Sam, he wasn't so sure. And Sam was with two very pissed off arch-angels. How would anyone fare with that? Especially for all that time? No, Dean wasn't expecting any miracles, but he was hoping Cas could at least do something other than nothing.
Dean did a bit of a double take. “Bri- your telling me that angels are bringing back hunters? Jo, Ellen, Ash and the whole Brady Bunch?” He said, smirking a bit. This was good news, even for him. Though this news often came with a price, but that could be haggled with later. Dean was ebbing to ask about John, but that road was long dead. His father was gone and even if John was in Heaven, he would have found them when they had died. They'd died plenty of times and he hadn't shown up. Even when they were in Heaven he wasn't there. Dean didn't think his dad could be brought back.
“Oh well that's just freakin' perfect. Because we need another demon mucking around with Lucifer. Because that went so well the last time he was up.” He said, grumbling to himself. That was when Sam dropped. Dean grabbed him, though his brother was pretty hefty so he hit the floor anyway. He looked to be in pain, well, until he was out cold. Looking to Cas, Dean pulled Sam and laid him on the bed. “What the hell was that? Cas, you gonna do anything or you just gonna stand there?” He said, glaring towards the angel.

| Sam was lost in his own head, he didn’t know were he was or if he would even get back. Sam’s body was on fire all over and he felt like he was dying, he was reliving Hell all over again. Sam was hoping this was all just a dream and he was not just in hell dreaming of being with Dean. Sam just wanted to wake up so he could be back with his big brother, he hoped that wherever Dean was he and Castiel were trying to find a way to wake him up. Sam was screaming in pain yelling “Come on Sam wake up! Ahhh! Wake me you hear me wake up!”
Sam just wanted this to dream to end and now, this was not something he wanted to relive again at all. Then Sam was being pulled a part piece by piece, Sam kept screaming wondering if this is how Dean felt in Hell. Then all the sudden Sam woke up, there was Dean and Castiel sitting right next to him on the hotel bed. They looked as though they were in so much shock, Sam then sat up, looked at Dean and said to him “ Dean hey!” Sam leaned over and gave his brother a big hug, happy to be wake and not in Hell.
If that’s what Sam had to see every time he went to bed, then he was done with sleeping for good. Sam then told Dean “Dean I’m sorry if I scared you I don’t know what the Hell happed to me, how long was I out for anyway” Sam sat up and walked over to the sink to splash some water on his face, trying to feel better and wake up more, the last thing he wanted was to pass out again.
