Ryan can see the future; Ryan was given the ability to foresee events that concern Dean and Sam Winchester. Ryan has continued the writings of Chuck Shurley and has assumed the role as the author of books called "Supernatural", which he writes under the pen name Carver Edlund. The contents of the books are actually Sam and Dean's lives, the details of which come to him in his dreams. MOTHER: Mary MacManus FATHER: Steven MacManus SIBLINGS: Brother: Christopher MacManus Sister: Sophia MacManus PARTNER: None CHILDREN: None OTHER: None OVERALL HISTORY: Ryan Macmanus was born on January 11 in the year of 1986, along with his brother, Christopher Macmanus, and sister, Sophia MacManus. His father, Steven, and mother Mary Macmanus, have been working at a local bar, supplying all of the Irish with alchohol to get then as drunk as an Irishman could get. When Ryan was sixteen years old, his parents and the bar began to be pestered by the local Irish mafia, who threatened his parent’s to give them money earned from the bar on a weekly basis. His parents gave in and began giving them the money, fearing for their son and their own safety. The mafia began taking more and more money, until finally, his parents couldn’t pay them, barely able to keep their small three bedroom apartment in balance. Angered by the denial of their ‘earned money’, the Irish mafia sent a hit squad to their apartment, intent on killing and robbing his parents.
The mafia broke into the house, dragging his mother and father, as well as Ryan, into the main room of the apartment, leaving his sister tied up in the living room. They forced Ryan to watch as they raped and killed his mother, moving next to his father, who begged them not to kill his son. The mafia obliged, laughing and stating that they still needed someone to work at the bar and give them more money. And with that, they slit his father’s throat in the eyes of his son Ryan, who was swearing at them up and down, screaming angry cries of vengeance. The mafia simply laughed and threw Ryan and his sister outside, and quickly set fire to the apartment.
After the fire department had arrived, the police brought his brother, who was working the bar. Ryan simply said it was an electrical malfunction, and that he couldn’t save his parents in time. He took his brother and sister to a private spot and told him what had actually happened. Christopher’s eyes filled with hatred, slowly fingering the cross around his neck. The three of them went to church to pray for a sign of what to do. It would be a few years before that sign was given.
After three years of working at the bar with his brother and sister, the mafia grew tired of the low income and left them alone, going to terrorize another bar nearby. At the ages of twenty-two, Ryan, Chris, and Sophia sold the bar and went to work at a meat-packing plant, intent on leaving behind the memory of the bar that had led to the death’s of their parents. They had fun times at the plant, working for next to nothing, happily living in an empty, abandoned room that a man had rented out to them for next to nothing. And then they ran into the mafia again. It was at a bar, when the brother’s were having some drinks, their sister still at the apartment. Four mafia member’s entered the bar and demanded it be shut down, planning to have it sold to a high bidder from America.
The brother’s grew outraged and fought back against the mafia, managing to beat down the member’s present. They went home afterwards to sleep off the adrenaline. After a few days, the brother’s door was kicked in, and the very same mafia member’s entered the room. The hand-cuffed Ryan and Sophia to a nearby toilet and took his brother to an alley to be executed. Ryan grew outraged, and he and his sister, in a fit of rage, ripped the toilet from the floor. Ryan went to the roof of the building, where his brother was being prepared to die, Sophia trying to run down the stairs fast enough. Ryan dropped the toilet on the man about to kill Chris, the object surprisingly hitting it's intended mark, then made a leap of faith off the roof, landing on one of the mafia men. His sister quickly knocked out the other man with the leftover toilet lid, and saved their brother from death.
After what happened, the three siblings decided to leave Ireland, heading to America, where they would start a new life and hopefully leave their past behind them. Of course, he lost contact with his siblings, without having a cell phone, he simply trusted that they find him if they were in need. Of course, they kept in contact, living in the same apartment with him, until they made enough money to purchase a small home, and spent the next few years there.
At the age of twenty-seven, Ryan began having strange dreams in his small home. He saw two men, fighting ghastly creatures, and could tell they were brothers. Waking from his dreams, he noticed that he was not alone, a man standing at the foot of his bed staring at him. Stumbling off the bed, the man blocked him, stating that he was an arch-angel and that Ryan was the new Prophet, and he was needed to write the Winchester Gospel. He had no idea what he was talking about, but he didn't allow him to contact the police or even grab the phone. After sitting down and talking, the angel told him of the Winchesters and of the aftermath of the Apocalypse, and that their last Prophet was in Heaven. They needed a new Prophet, and Ryan was chosen to become one of them. Of course at the time, he was the only one home at the moment, would his siblings believe him that he had just met an angel?
