There is no chance of sleep for this tom., Lunarstone having a hard night.

Shadeheart's eyes widened briefly."Lunarstone, please!"She called after him, frozen to the spot.Her gaze flickered with concern."I never meant to hurt you..."Her voice was a whisper now, barely audible.She shook her head and sighed.This was what she wanted.She couldn't have a paw in two clans.But then, why was this hurting so much?

Pulling himself out of the river, he slunk toward the trees, not bothering to shake his pelt free of the water. It would have to dry at some point. If he had heard Shadeheart's last words, he might have stopped. Might. But he hadn't. Reaching the trees, he looked over his shoulder at Shadeheart, his eyes filled with unbarable pain as they met hers once more.

Taking a deep breath,Shadeheart slipped into the river after Lunarstone, her eyes pleading.She stopped at the ThunderClan border."Lunarstone, this wasn't supposed to happen!I would never do anything to hurt you on purpose!Please"She meowed desperately.

Lunarstone looked away from her and into the forest, then sighed. Turning around, he slowly padded back toward her to hear what she had to say. He knew she really hadn't meant to hurt him, but she should have realized that any of the things she had just said would hurt him in ways unimaginable.

Shadeheart sighed."I really am sorry Lunarstone."she meowed softly."I love you... but I'm a little confused right now.I can't betray RiverClan."her head lowered, she gazed at her mate pleadingly.The she-cat was torn inside."We WILL figure something out, I'll promise you."she added seriously.

Lunarstone almost muttered 'It was easy for you to betray ThunderClan', but he refrained from doing so. It would have only made things worse. Then he nodded slowly. But to tell you the truth, the wasn't any other way that Lunarstone could think of. And there was nothing that they could do to keep her from betraying RiverClan. In truth, Lunarstone didn't think they were really betraying anything at all, because they had been mates BEFORE Shadeheart had decided to leave. No one should expect them to stop loving each other, it just didn't work that way.

Shadeheart stood awkwardly, up to her stomach in water.She watched Lunarstone carefully.Shadeheart knew him well enough to know that he still didn't approve of the situation.She touched his nose comfortingly and stepped back."Maybe we can meet at Four trees, at some other time other than the Gatherings, I mean.If we each get out patroling and hunting done first, no cat should have reason to quarrel."she suggested.

Lunarstone breathed in her sweet scent as she touched his nose and he finally turned his gaze to look at her. He still didn't like not being able to meet each other whenever they wanted, but he would to anything to make it work.

Shadeheart purred softly and stepped back."I should be getting back.It's almost moonrise."She meowed softly.She held Lunarstone's gaze for one last moment before turning and swimming across the river.She climbed up upon one of the Steppingstones, and glanced back at her mate."I'll see you around, okay?"

Lunarstone nodded and touched his mate's nose and watched her swim across the river before nodding again. "Alright." Then he remembered something. "Be careful, okay?" He didn't want anything to happen to her, and now that she was pregnant she was vaunerable.










Morningstar watched silently from the shadows, she'd been there since before Shadeheart had decided to work on swimming. Lately, the new leader hadn't been able to sleep. Her amber eyes narrowed to furious slits as the two of them continued the meeting, finally she had enough. She padded from the shadows "Lunarstone, I suggest you stay far away from Riverclan borders. Next time, I will not stand for this kittypet to meet her old friends. Loyalties are to CLANS not old friends" She hissed. Her gaze turning to Shadeheart "And you won't be allowed near Thunderclan's borders until you get your loyalties straight" She added, showing no pity for the lovers/

Shadeheart blinked and froze as Morningstar emerged from the bush.She dipped her head in respect and looked rather ashamed."I'm sorry,Morningstar."she meowed softly."I got him to leave the territory...I just ...he just wanted to make sure I was okay here.It won't happen again."

Lunarstone desperatly wanted to claw the leader's eyes out, but he knew it was a very very bad idea. Before he could say anything to give himself away, Shadeheart jumped to the rescue. Instead of disagreeing with her, he nodded and said, "Yeah, I just wanted to make sure she was alright." That much was true.










Morningstar narrowed her eyes further "Warriors from seperate clans meet at GATHERINGS" She snapped, her voice on the edge of a snarl. The calico leader faced Lunarstone with pure hate for Thunderclan "If you want your precious friend to stay here in Riverclan....I suggest you STAY on your own borders." She growled. Without even waiting for the tom's reply, she spun around to face the queen "LEAVE to camp or to THUNDERCLAN now Shadeheart. This will be your only time for weak loyalties" She snarled.

[Golden]

Shadeheart's ears flattened and her tail drooped.She didn't dare even glance at Lunarstone."I'm sorry, Morningstar."she meowed softly again."I know I'm not off to a good start..but I promise I'll proove my loyalties to RiverClan one way or another."Not meeting any cat's eyes after this, she flicked her tail respectfully and began to slink towards the RiverClan camp.

"Yes Morningstar." Lunarstone nodded. "I'm sorry. I'll go." He didn't want to take any chances so he kept his gaze on the leader and didn't dare to look at Shadeheart as she slunk away. Turning away, fled into the ThunderClan trees before Morningflower decided to do anything more. Once hidden deep within the trees, he slowed down and glanced behind him, letting out the breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding before continuing on his way to ThunderClan camp. If he was lucky, he could catch a little bit of sleep before dawn.












Morningstar let out a silent growl. She'd be paying Thunderclan a little visit to Thunderclan tomorrow.
