Heart Of StarClan

Hi, people, I finally got around to changing the skins with some warriors stuff, the vast majority of it came from Warriors Wish or StarClan Secrets, as noted on the bottom of the page, but if it came from elsewhere, I will make note of it. Anyway, the background I cant decide if I like, its different compared to our usual black, but it may be a little too much, tell me what you guys think of it, or if you have a better one please! Anyway thanks to Warriors Wish and StarClan Secrets for making all this awesome warriors stuff. I just thought I’d post that -Skystar

I'm so tired of being here..., Surpressed by all my childish fears...

((If there were background music to everything, the perfect song for this very moment in time would be My Immortal by Evanescence, if you look closely, you’ll find traces of the song hidden (well, not really hidden) in here.))

Fog settled over the land again. The whole world seemed silent. It seemed as if it was mourning. It could possibly be doing just that. Nothing seemed for sure anymore. On the base of a flat rock over-looking the river, a broken-heart was left, forgotten out in the rain. Thunder rolled dangerously through the skies with the everlasting threat of rain, tears from the sky.

A tom lay on the cold rock, one leg hanging over the front of the rock while his chin rested heavily on the other. His gloomy eyes only slits beneath multicolored eyelids. He felt as though he’d been punched in the gut. Beaten and left to rot. Her presence still lingered around him, and it wouldn’t leave him alone. He’d been rejected coldly, for caring. Now he was bound by the life she had left behind.

He tried so hard to tell himself that she was gone. He’d go through every minute of every day telling himself the same thing over and over again. But her face haunted his once pleasant dreams, and he couldn’t seem to get her out of his head. Nothing could help him now. He didn’t know anything… not anymore…

These wounds won’t seem to heal, and the pain was just too real. He could hardly take it. He had wiped away all of her tears. When she screamed, he would fight away all of her fears. And now he’d been thrown aside, as though he’d done something wrong all this time. As though he had been the one who had pushed her away, the one who had broken her heart. But through all of it, she still had all of him.

Hidden within the lingering shadows sat a cat of pure white. His medium-length fur lay flat from the moist air surrounding them. With the fog drowning everything in thick gray tendrils, it could almost be said that both he and the tortoiseshell tom below were floating on air. No one could be sure of it. No one could be sure of anything these days.

He watched from a distance, gazing down sadly at the heart-broken tom that had been left out to dry. In truth, he didn’t know what had happened. But he knew it would have to have something to do with her. With the one who had earlier left their clan to be with another. For a while, the tom had seemed alright with it. But the great white cat knew something dreadful must have happened.

A crack of thunder went off in the sky, and a moment later, drops of rain began to fall. First softly, but it grew more intense by the second. The heavens seemed to be crying for the young tom whose heart had been shattered so quickly. The black and brown tom hardly noticed the rain, for all of his sanity had been chased away by her voice. He wondered if he’d been alone all along. There was just too much that time could not erase.

Under the safety of the forest, the white warrior was dry, only being hit by a few stray drops of rain that escaped through the thick leaves of the treetops. The mist scattered in places, swirling slowly around them. But it didn’t run. It still lingered. As the evening went on in slow, ticking moments, by and by, the tom began to worry more and more about the broken warrior lying below.

But didn’t break the melodic pitter-patter of the rain on the stones by stepping out to him. He couldn’t find the strength to move from his spot, or the words to say to the listless tom. But sometimes, saying nothing meant more then any combination of words could ever mean.

Darkshadow padded forward slowly, her senses alert.Ahead, she noticed the faint outline of her mate's white pelt, and sighed softly, padding over to him."Hey,Thicketclaw!"she purred softly, nuzzling him gentley. The once-rogue's personality had grown surprisingly gentle over the past many moons as a ThunderClan warrior and queen. But even from looking at Thicketclaw's expression, Darkshadow could tell something was wrong.Concerned, she followed her mate's saddened gaze to the warrior below, his tortoiseshell pelt and scent telling Darkshadow immediately that it was Lunarstone, gazing vaguely off into RiverClan territory. Her own tortoiseshell pelt prickled sadly, and she gaze Thicketclaw another glance, her amber eyes narrowed in concern."Shadeheart?"She murmered questioningly, though she really didn't need an answer.

Thicketclaw felt pawsteps from deeper within the forest. Sure enough, a few moment's later Darkshadow, a ThunderClan warrior and queen as well as Thicketclaw's mate. They had fallen in love at a very fortunate time, having been very close to taking over the forest. But over the many moons with ThunderClan, they had changed quite a bit.

Now, Thicketclaw could feel his mate press her muti-colored pelt close to his and nuzzle him. He also heard the gentle sound of her voice, letting it along with her sweet scent fill him inside. However much he loved her, he found it hard to tear his gaze from the sad sight before him. Then he heard Darkshadow ask him a semi-retoricle question. "Shadeheart?" Thicketclaw nodded slowly and looked at his mate. He reached down to give her an affectionate nuzzle in return before saying softly, "I wouldn't be surprised."

The forest's winds whistled as they blew over the lands, chilling the forest in whole.Winds of change for the whole Clan, and soon, Darkshadow suspected. The winds also brought the scent of rain.A storm was coming soon, and Darkshadow shivered. She had a bad feeling about this one, but brushed it off as 'just a small thunderstorm'.Her gaze saddened aswell, and fixed on Lunarstone once again. The easy-going tom just hadn't been the same since Shadeheart had left for ThunderClan."I wish there was something we could do,"Darkshadow murmered softly, bowing her elegant head to fix her amber gaze upon the forest's rocky floor.

((Tis already lightly raining if you didn't catch that in the first post, lol))

Thicketclaw nodded in agreement, his gaze once more fixed upon the tortoiseshell warrior laying out in the rain. He knew that Lunarstone had loved Shadeheart dearly, and he knew that he would want the best for her if he was anything like Thicketclaw was. The strangest part was, he didn't starting mourning until a few days after she had left, as if something had happened after she left that made him feel this way. He knew he didn't have to say it aloud to get an answer from his mate. They thought so much alike that sometimes they swore they would read each other's minds.

Darkshadow sighed and shifted her position, crouching next to Thicketclaw in silence. She didn't know what to do.As Thicketclaw suspected, Darkshadow shared his thoughts. She sighed and gave her tortoiseshell pelt a gentle shake. She longed desperately to ask Lunarstone what had happened and try to figure something out, but the other half told her that this was none of her business.

((O.o TELL!! And also, did u realize that its been like, forever and their kits still aren't apprentices!!))

Thicketclaw felt his mate give a shake from beside him and pressed his pelt closer to help keep her warm. He watched Lunarstone for a little while longer, letting him have sometime alone. He could tell his mate wanted to ask him what was wrong, and to tell the truth, Thicketclaw wouldn't mind asking either. But they were reluctent, not wanting to possibly make anything worse. Finally, he said, "I suppose we should probably go get him and bring him back to camp. He can't stay out in a storm."

Darkshadow sighed, stood up, and nodded, her eyes narrow. She cast one last worried glance at Thicketclaw and nodded."Okay,"She meowed softly, barely noticing as the rain began to come down harder, pelting her fur almost like hail.Darkshadow glanced up briefly at the clouded sky, sighing. She still had a bad feeling, but there were bigger things on her mind now.

Thicketclaw stood, and with a glance at Darkshadow he trotted quickly down to the tortoiseshell. Stopping beside him, he gently nudged his shoulder. Lunarstone looked at ThicketClaw out of the corner of his eye, not bothering to move. "Come on son, let's get you out of the rain." Thicketclaw said. Lunarstone looked back across the border again before sighing heavily and sitting up. The white warrior nodded to him reassuringly.

Darkshadow padded down to join the two with a sympathetic, understanding flash of a glance towards Lunarstone. She resting her tail tip on the younger warrior's back briefly, flicking it to comfort him before beginning to lead the way towards camp.

Lunarstone gazed at Darkshadow with a blank expression, but his eyes shone with a flicker of gratetude, which is more then we can say for the last time something this serious happened. He stood up, and with one more sad glance at RiverClan, he turned his back to it. Thicketclaw nudged him lightly and began their journey back to camp, walking at one flank of the young warrior. He glanced back at Darkshadow to be sure she was with them. With the fog and the rain, he hated the thought of her being out alone.

His conservation changed the world. His passion and enthusiasm inspired millions to make a difference in this life. His love of animals and his conservation will never stop encouraging others to save and make a difference in what they love. And in this way he becomes immortal, living forever in the hearts of those he invited to come along on his journey. He will never be forgotten. ~In memory of Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter~
