Where y'all gone? It's so quiet, I'm kind of getting worried here.

askelly - September 23, 2011 06:09 PM (GMT)
DON'T BE WORRIED... WE'RE STILL HERE.. I'M JUST SWAMPED WITH SHOW RESULTS! :)

AmericasHorse - September 23, 2011 08:33 PM (GMT)
I am still here also!

Just working in RL and heading a non-profit and searching for foster homes and accepting new applications is time consuming ;)

I'm still here too I'm just battling a nasty cold bug atm so I'm taking lots of time to rest and sleep the cold bugs away

So how's the activity going nowadays??
I admit I've not been active myself, however I do find that being active myself isn't helping. I need help to make the game more active.

Where is everyone?

Schuyler - October 30, 2011 05:12 PM (GMT)
Hey Lin

I'm here ^_^ I agree with you that we need to get things more active around here do you have any ideas/ suggestions. I suspect that real life is happening and that's why we haven't seen as many people around.

Im here i check in everyday!

Amys got alot going on with her family, i have not talked to her in a couple days :(

Amanda C. - November 2, 2011 03:48 PM (GMT)
I usually pop on the forum every day just to see what's been happening :)

Lin Ryder - November 3, 2011 02:52 PM (GMT)
Hmm, I'm basically the same as you Amanda.
Just popping on to see if something is happening.

But the trouble is nothing is happening. Something gotta be done. Question is what. =/

What about introducing a special winter/fall fair that everyone in Hay!Land hosts together?

In Toronto every year we have what is called, The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. It takes place in November and runs for two weeks straight and includes everything from who can grow the largest food products (pumpkins, etc) to world class equestrian competition of all different disciplines. It could be like the Hay!Land Olympics, but we could make it different...

We could call it, The Hay!Land Agricultural Fair OR The Royal Hay!Land Agricultural Fair and host it every year. So around this time when it seems the activity tends to disappear, perhaps something like this could get more players active?

I know most of us have pets aside from Horses at our barns, like Dogs.. for an example. It could be that one time of the year where we bring dogs from our farms into Hay!Land to compete.

We could have a Dog & Horse challenge. Where the dogs run a special course, and the horse & rider try to beat the times, teams, etc..

What do you all think???

Lin Ryder - November 4, 2011 07:00 AM (GMT)
It sounds like a good idea Amanda =)

I especially like the dog thing. Maybe we also can show 'our cats' as well =) The stable cats for instance. I know most barns have at least one.

^^ Dogs & Cats, Sounds great.

To have each player active in the event, Each barn could choose their favorite discipline and host it for the fair, and we can either post results on the same day, or different days throughout the time that the event is being held.

So say for an example...

Lija Hosts: Dressage, Pumpkin Carving contest
Amy Hosts: Western, Largest Carrot grown competition
Myself Hosts: Halter, Dog + Horse Look a like competition
Lin Hosts: Jumping, Dog & Horse team jumping competition..

etc etc..

We can have gift baskets, gift certificates to your vet & farrier, free hay for a month, sort of thing, Grand prizes can be waived fees for lifetime memberships for horse & barn that wins over all in a class, stuff like that...

We can even have a Halter event where we have to dress up our Horses as a different animal that it best represents via personalities... I already know a few of my Horses could easily pull off an animal that is known to sleep constantly, or a few that are like birds, always poop where you don't want them too.. etc etc..

I really like this idea Amanda and i'd be happy to help with hosting an event if needed ^_^
