Name: Shui-ya (Water of Elegance) Alias: Shu, Iya Gender: Female Age: 1295 Race: Kami Alliance: Her alliance lies with Nataku.
Physical Appearance: The Goddess of the Waters retains a calm, and peaceful demeanor. She is pale and tall; standing at a good five foot eight inches. Her eyes are watery blue and her hair, long and black; with bangs that almost cover her eyes. Her hair is straight and always seemingly still—like the calmness of the ocean.
Her garbs are simply a flowing, translucent light blue garb—deeper inside is a dark sea green colored silk cloth. She wears various golden bangles and necklaces on her body; and on her feet are a pair of sandals. Her ears have dangling earrings of gold and aquamarine. She can be described in one word: lithe.
Her eyes always seem to stare when someone speaks to her. She doesn't have much of anything to do, anyway, so she always retains a bored look in her eyes.
Personality:
Shui-ya is dense, and a little bit vain. Acting a little bit like a child sometimes, she often finds herself with nothing to do and hating conformity. She seems to be the type of person who would sit around and just look at the people, but never pay attention. If important, she would pay attention, but otherwise she would look away, trying to find something to occupy her thoughts.
She thinks that the world the Gods live in is extremely small and they tend to do things repetitively. This is why Shui-ya is a person who can't exactly conform; and will say the weirdest things at the wrong times. She often speaks when thinking; having a habit of suddenly just spouting a sentence out of nowhere coming from her train of thought. So you could also say she is a bit queer. But not in that sense.
She absolutely loves the color blue, and finds it deeply amusing. Why? No one knows. But sometimes, when you hold up a shade of blue near her, it can cause her to smile, or even giggle. Some sort of attention thing? Maybe.
She is loyal when she thinks the cause is right, or at least when she finds the character amusing. It can be attributed to her want to find something amusing in her life. She finds it in small things, or even big things like looking at warfare down below. You can also attribute her "Just-want-to-see-but-not-touch" personality to her laziness; she is very, very lazy. At least, most of the time, when nothing good is happening.
Strengths: - Spell Arsenal - Loyal when finding a worthwhile cause - Is a character most people would find amusing when they see her. - Doesn't like to meddle in affairs; trustworthy - Agile Spell-casting; which would mean she would be a good "Wizard" type character. Weaknesses: - Weak physically - A bit bored too much of the time. - Can't take much of a hit; this is why she tries to avoid getting hit as much as possible. - Can seem a little too sloth-y if extremely bored. - Weak to Electricity and absolutely hates having to touch anything that can zap her.
Equipments:
Psycho-braces – The bracelets and bangles she has on her left and right hands. When waved, it creates a psychic orb that can be thrown. The damage is the same as a bottle being broken on your body.
Fighting Style Overview:
Against humans, she will basically just use the weapons she has at hand to extort them or render them unconscious. Since she is still under the rule of No Bloodshed (Nataku did not give her any permission yet) she is still unable to cause substantial harm to humans. Demons will have an array of spells and hexes cast upon them. Shui-ya is able to bend the physical form of water into any form she wishes; and can even give it horrendous effects.
She is extremely agile, as well. When against something extremely strong, she will avoid all possible contact and use up her magical power. Her braces will be the first to be used—just to test the power of the enemy, and then the more devastating spells will be used.
Her spell arsenal can be attributed to two things: the more light, more happy and helpful side of Water (dousing out fire, cleansing wounds and even using Holy Water against Demons) and the not-very-helpful-unless-aggressive side, with Ice.
Her spells are various, but here are some of her MOST USED [A.K.A will appear] of them. Now, apart from these, she has the ability to splash water or create it whenever there is a need. They will not damage anything, however. Unless it's fire.
Hai [Sea] - She creates a small, makeshift barrier of water. Physical hits that penetrate it will be "stuck" in the water (it will move slower) Magical attacks can still penetrate.
Fu Xian Mao Mao Yu [Restore Drizzle] - All allies within the area it rains upon (10 meters in diameter) will be slowly healed by the drizzle. It lasts only one post. The drizzle is actually like a strong rain, healing wounds slowly but surely. At this one post, a character's wounds would most likely be patched up. TEMPORARY Status Ailments will be cured, but permanent ones WILL NOT.
Bing Zhu Bao [Icicle Rain] – She is able to create a rain of icicles upon a target. This is her most commonly used magic, it is not very lethal nor very powerful; which makes it ideal for spamming against an enemy. She only uses this when she feels the need to.
History: Shui-ya is probably one of the oldest Goddesses in Tenkai, a pure-born Goddess, created by two other Gods. She is probably one of the ones who were there when most of the other gods and goddesses were created; the one on the side looking bored at a puddle of water while completely ignoring ceremonies. No one of the older gods and goddesses who knew her paid her attention, so the newer gods would just shrug.
She was created by a Harvest God and one of the Higher Goddesses, she who controlled nature. Shui-ya was blessed to become the Goddess of Water. She was trained and helped by her mother almost all of the time. When she grew up, she grew up beautiful. None of the Gods dare approach Shui-ya, however. They knew of her queerness as a child, they knew that she didn’t like speaking to other people. She was at a century old when she grew to her full adult form, to which she stays for a millennium now.
When she joins in ceremonies and see the blessings of new Gods or Heroes and such, she would be the one in the corner, mumbling to herself and looking far out into the vastness of the world; always bored. They would just know her as the odd one, the one who controls water, the one who rarely spoke to others but spoke out loud, to herself.
She would appear to the older gods and goddesses and speak courteously, and even relay advice once in awhile. But most of the time, Shui-ya lay cooped up within her sanctuary and looking at the seas, and even playing with her form of magic. You could say they got used to her around just hanging when they found her in the gardens, drizzling upon the flowers and giving them bloom. Probably the only person Shui-ya ever talked to regularly was the Goddess of the Earth.
They had to work together, right? I mean, with no water, the Earth would shrivel up and die. So Shui-ya always had to help out when the Earth Goddess needed help. She would mumble incoherently, look around, give a soft smile, and walk on by. People thought she was one of the queerest gods around.
She was perpetually bored and lazy, often staying under the shade of a tree while staring at the other gods and goddesses fight among themselves. She trained only with her magic, as she never really had the need to fight. She wasn’t a God of War, and she wasn’t someone who would tamper with the conflicts of the world; she was there to provide bountiful harvest with the Goddess of the Earth, drizzle upon Earth once or twice a month, and that was it. There was no more. So you could probably say she became who she was after seven centuries had passed.
It was the birth of the new God, one who would become another God of War. As if the world didn’t need more conflict, Shui-ya always thought. But there was nothing that could be done; he had his own prowess, and she had hers. When paths would cross, it would be when one needed the other—which would be never, on his part. Shui-ya could benefit, once or twice… It was only natural that when someone needed help, they approach the strongest one they know.
Then, he found his friends. Shui-ya never really cared much about all of the things they did; save for that day when Gods were slaughtered. Shui-ya was busy; she was barely bored that day. In a way, she thanked such a thing for happening… She had to “rejuvenate,” as some people would say. But really, she only stood there, some of them had died. Even the God of War himself had to be healed some way or another; so he needed her now.
He stuck himself inside a coma for more than half a millennia more, which passed so slowly, ever so slowly for Shui-ya. Nothing much was new, only the fact that there were more people, and they slowly brought themselves to starvation by having too many children, and much more people had begun to falter from their worship. It was when he awoke again when his band of friends appeared once more into the world did she finally see the life in him once more. Shui-ya would need his help sometime…
But he grew fast, and he grew into a fine young man. He gave them a choice, when he took over their boring world: To remain boring, or not. Of course, Shui-ya would not remain boring. Some Gods and Goddesses chose to flee and become a help to the demons, but she would choose to be with him; such an amusing child, as he was.
Besides, it would be fun to have a life not full of monotony, right?

@Physical Appearance: Lithe is the term you're looking for. I'm sure you're into describing it reptitively, which you do, but lithe seems to fit all the second paragraph of your Physical Appearance. A bit more description would be nice. And by the way? I don't really get how the "frequency" actually gets her to find people. If, you could revamp that(and, IMO, everything else, I'll explain why in a bit)
@Personality The repetition of "Bored" in your post shows the limitation of your vocabulary. Learn to use the Thesaurus next time. And Bored characters? They're the type that shut up(hence making no room for conversation) for no reason at all and leave it at that. Sure, you could probably fill two pages with the inner musings of your character, but that's not really going to work out, now isn't it? And as for creating your monsters, that's not really going to work as you're the goddess of Water. And water alone. Dude, WATER. Not Sea Creatures. Not Fish. Not Shrimp. Not Squid. And not even the Loch Ness monster. If you're going to create the Goddess of all things Squidy and Fishy, then go ahead, but as long as you're creating the Goddess of Water, please stick to the job title.
As for this:
Strengths: - Excellent Magic Proficiency - Loyal when finding a worthwhile cause - Will often do things and do them above par - God Powers - Extremely Agile Weaknesses: - Is only average in normal attacks - A bit bored too much of the time. - Only give her the good assignments. Or else you will drown in an orb of water. - Can seem a little too sloth-y if extremely bored. - Seems to be a little bit tired a lot of times.
1. How do you define Excellent Magic Proficiency? It could be interpreted as reflecting every spell cast on you. Which would, obviously, count as godmoding. 2. | QUOTE | | Will often do things and do them above par |
-Uh. God? Duh. 3.
- Expound please, this could be open to misinterpretetation. 4.
- Okay. I'm sorry. This is just too much. You're powerplaying now. This is just ZOMGWTF. 5.
| QUOTE | | Is only average in normal attacks |
You shouldn't even be able to make magic attacks. You're pale and thin. 6. | QUOTE | - Only give her the good assignments. Or else you will drown in an orb of water. - Can seem a little too sloth-y if extremely bored. - Seems to be a little bit tired a lot of times. |
This is too much. I'm sorry. I'm sure you could think of something else, like , say, the innate weakness of water to, lightning or electricity. You could come up with something else, I'm sure.
- A bit bored too much of the time. If I had a hundred bucks, for every word containing the root word Bore that you just typed, I would... probably be able to buy TEH INTERNETS. Also, c'mon, this isn't a weakness, this should be in the Personality section. And it is. OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!!1!one! Times. 7.As for your equipment, choose one. You're being too powerful. 8. Too much. Why not make skills that are actually fit for your class? You're a Water Goddess, you're THE Water Goddess. Sure, you have fighting skills, but I believe that the power of water is more beneficial than destructive. 9. History: Look, I think this is a half-baked way for you to actually post a history without actually posting a history. No one knows where she came from, and yet she's been around for 750 years. Like...Duh. Come on, get real dude. 10. Also place into consideration what Nagato said. Please, PLEASE MAKE CHANGES.

just a note...
please research on the timeline of Saiyuki more...if you're going with that history...then Shui-ya should be like...1295 years old. After Nataku got into a coma, half a millennium passed before Konzen and company were reincarnated. And only years after this does Nataku reawaken.

I made some of the necessary edits, and I'm sorry if my history exceeded the 10 paragraphs. I tried fitting in some information that was relevant in her life, and some other tidbits. ; Edited, this is the first edit. ^^; [[Just counting to myself. x_x]]
