Tofu Ninja’s Log- Well, the army that came down was part of the Order of Innocence. Boylad was there, and we had a brief chat. It seems he forged a false alliance with the army in Snowhead, then destroyed the bridge, effectively trapping the enemy in the temple. For such a young kid he’s got some knowledge of tactics. I like that. We led him to some tents so he and his army could get rest.
And Mendel has just proven to be a great leader. He sent a small amount of troops, but supplies that will make up for that. He’s come up with a great improvement on the bombs we’ve got. We tested them out on some Iron Knuckles we found wander around. Their armor melted, and baked those inside. I’ve never heard an enemy scream with so much pain. I loved it.
Since we’ve utterly destroyed everything between the Mountain Village and the Goron Shrine, we’re pretty much safe from that route. The defenses towards Snowhead have begun to be strengthened though. We’ve started work on a stone wall and a bridge. We’re expanding the pungee pits, deepening them and widening them.
My helmet’s completed. I think the white of the bone brings out my eyes. The Goron that came through earlier, the one with the army, I believe he said he was allied with the army in the temple. I have plans for him. I think that capturing him may be difficult, especially since the Temple is out of reach. I’ll figure something out.
Trajan’s Log- Tofu made a cool helmet. I want one. The Armos guy didn’t work out to well, so I guess I’ll have to get a skull of my own. Oh well. There’s nothing else to write, Tofu’s been doing a lot of work. He always was good with battles. I’m going to head up to Snowhead to scout things out, see what the temple looks like. Perhaps we can actually hit the temple with our cannons. I’ll find out I guess.
Mendel’s Log- The horses arrived, 1,000 of them to be exact. We’re putting together carts so that we can carry more troops per horse. By my estimates, we can put two horses on a cart that carries ten Garo. With the horses available, we can send 5,000 troops per trip. The carts will take another day to make, working non-stop, so I hope Tofu can hold off with the stuff we sent earlier.
Some guards brought back the corpse of some kind of monster. They called it a Peahat, and informed me that it flew towards them with an intense aggression. I investigated what makes them fly, and found that they have an organic windmill like blade on the bottom. This is able to spin at high speeds, which produces lift and allows them to fly. This is remarkable. I’m trying to figure out a way to replicate it. The blade should be simple enough, I can replicate that within the next day or two. But the actual mechanism and what powers it is the problem. I’ll check the research I’ve done on the Beamos to see if we can transfer anything. We’ve found the power source located in the base of it, but we still don’t know how to replicate it. I’m going to try to hook it up so that we can power the blade. Until we can replicate the power source though, we can only have a limited amount. This may take a bit.
Speaking of the Beamos. We’ve discovered that the source of the power is a crystal, but the power is only activated when used with the machinery in the base of the Beamos. It looks simple enough, but in order to do what Tofu wants, we have to be able to replicate it on a much smaller scale. In other tests we determined that the beam shot from the eye is caused when the energy from the ‘power’ crystal comes into contact with another crystal. It seems that any crystal will do, but some crystals produce different results. One crystal turned the beam pink, another one caused it to be able to pierce armor. The latter was kept aside for further research. Another crystal kept the beam steady, and another kept the beam short. We managed to use those three crystals together, and it produced a steady beam that could cut through armor and was about sword length. We had the right combination of crystals. We’ll begin to stockpile them, so that once we do finally reproduce the power source we can hop into producing the swords.
250 troops showed up. Garo Master is truly amazing.
Peahat research started- Prototype in 8 days

Where do I get research? From my head. I'm sorry that I can come up with good ideas, and then can figure out a way to impliment them. IceNub added styrofoam to gasoline to make napalm. First, gasoline doesn't come from the ground, it is a product of oil refinement. So IceNub would've had to discover oil, figure out how to refine it, and then realize one of the products was useful. In the early days of oil refinement, gasoline was thrown away because it was deemed useless. Secondly, how the hell would he have gotten styrofoam? Simple as that, styrofoam is a modern material, he automatically had it.
Now, instead of doing nothing but complaining, why don't you voice your opinion in the form of a vote on whether or not KOGgie abused his power. So he banned your only ally, so what. I've gone through most of the game without having an ally. You're taking the pansy way out by quitting. Deal with the loss of your only ally and move on. Seriously.

I banned your only ally because he broke the rules. No, he did not research. He did not spend the time to develop an idea. He did not go through the process. He came up with a cheap technology on a whim and used it at that very moment.
Tofu, on the other hand, came up with an idea, researched it, reverse-engineered something if required, made prototypes, tested them, and only then went into production. And guess what? The time spent making all those things was time that one of you could have used to come up with either technology or tactics to counter it instead of complaining that we're cheap and corrupt. All this proves is that your friend and ally was deficient in the thinking department, which is what this game hinges on. Strategy, research, alliances, warfare. And all of that complex.
Yeah, he's your only ally. Why? Maybe because you should have sent out alliances to players while in Hyrule, and you should not have left Hyrule after doing that. Tofu has not had an ally until Greetings arrived in Termina.
And why do I have many allies? Well, it's because I sent out an alliance request to Shiny's army. Then I allied with Exo's when I got the chance. And now I'm working on obtaining DeadMech as an ally. Maybe you should simply stop whining like a 5-year-old.
Oh, and finally, no destruction of Special Items. I already decided on it. Twice, in fact. PSO (Static for you people) asked me if it could be possible to destroy the Forest Medallion. I said no. Tofu then asked me if the Garo Mask could be destroyed. I denied that as well. So, yeah. Those things are still there.

In case you haven't noticed, Saiyan, calling people names does NOT improve a situation. Ever. If I called you a bastard and your mother a whore, would you want to consider my side of any argument? No. It's called seeing from multiple points of view.
I have personally complained to KOG multiple times about how he tended to overreact on Iceman's circumstances. The world isn't against you. However, Iceman DID go heavily against the rules, and there are consequences for that. You would complain if one of us made an extremely powerful explosive with absolutely no research, wouldn't you? As you well should. It's kind of like how, in the original GSW, Skull was perfectly compliant with Hovership technology when I was his ally, but when I entered battle with him, he had a whole array of counterpoints to the technology. You can't be for something when one side has it but against it when another side does.
Personally, I think this game is slightly out of Iceman's league... we've all been practicing for ages, and he clearly is a greenhorn in the realm of RPing. It's like a little fish in a big sea. You can't exactly compete when we've got people who have histories of writing logs three or more pages long, brimming with detail. If Iceman wants to participate in a Hylian Wars here, he should join a somewhat lower-key roleplay somewhere else. Gamefaqs, for instance. I know for a fact that the people who play Metroid Wars are more on his level. Then, moving upward through more advanced and more advanced RPs until he would be able to operate here. It'd also help if he read and reread a lot of books. Sink the words into the brain, alongside their spelling.
Ultimately, what I'm trying to say is that Iceman would do better in a lower setting. As he had little hope of winning from the beginning, due to every other player being more experienced than he, he would almost certainly have more fun in another RP. And the other thing I'm trying to say... is to please not call people dicks. Or any other obscene name. It doesn't ever help peoples' cases to start swearing, just makes more people angry. The purpose of this entire site is for us all to have fun. Going for each others' throats in flame wars is decidedly not fun. Help your friend learn the ins and outs of RPing without being cheap or anything similar, and then when the next war comes around, he could be ready and be able to roleplay on par with the other players.
Uhhh... yeah. I think I said everything. Be nice, don't swear, and look at things from other peoples' shoes. That'd be it, methinks.

Static's Log:
I went to see the Great Deku Tree today. He had a really ominous warning.
He said that war would come to the forest. And from information from my scourts, it's very plausible. They said a man that goes by Carbon took over Hylia Lake. He was very hostile, at least from reports. And from some basic deduction, one can easily asertain that he is the one who took over Zora's Domain and Death Mountain. They're constructing something in those passages to the Lost Woods. I don't know what, but I don't like it.
Also, the Great Deku Tree gave me a gift, something called the Rod of Seasons. He said that, atop a platform, one can change the seasons in the area. I don't know what use it will be in a forest, but I gladly took it.
Since war supposedly will be coming, I must begin preparations for leaving. The Great Deku tree said I would be no match for the forces coming, especially if they are the big army that took over Zora's Domain. What we need is a trap... or an escape route. That portal we saw can be an escape route easily. But, a trap? That will be harder work. I'll have to think about it...

Nabooru Log: I can't say as I'm overly pleased. Volvagia went behind my back and brought back that girl I banished. He... persuaded me to let her stay. And by persuaded, threatened blackmail with certain pictographs of me in rather... compromising situations. I was young, and... experimenting.
Anyways, it is best not to dwell on it. Personally, I am more interested in this letter from Lord Carbon. Apparently he's interested in an artifact that Volvagia found. I quickly wrote out a response.
Lord Carbon, My companion, Volvagia, found the artifact you depicted in your letter. Please inform us of the powers of this artifact, and what you would be willing to trade to acquire it. A trade can be arranged. Volvagia mentioned that the Shadow Medallion should reside in a temple in your area. That would be more than suitable to us. Contact us soon if you find that, or an object of equal value. ~By the hand of Nabooru, Ruler of the Gerudo
Er... not much for me to say. We can't recruit any more girls, and Volvagia's been intent on some... magical weapon... thing. Honestly, I haven't the slightest idea, and he's been obsessing over it. Anyways... End Log
Volvagia Log: The prototype is complete. I've been breathing fire into a sort of siphon mirror device... to fill each ammo pack. Rather aggravating work, but I digress. The prototype SEEMS to work, and it's been firing fire streams fairly accurately, but ice always seems to be a problem. Every time I try firing an ice projectile, the weapon ends up clogging the barrel with ice and thereby making it backfire... which freezes the weapon in a block of ice. And I can't melt it with my fire because it'd probably crack or something. Argh. Very aggravating.
Well, that's personal work. I'll see what I can do about it. In the meantime, we're researching how to make fire arrows. Stands to reason that we have ice arrows, and therefore fire arrows exist. Indeed. End Log.

Tofu Ninja’s Log- Trajan, Doan, and I all had a meeting after I spoke with Boylad. I do not want armies pouring into Termina. 100 troops have left for Clock Town on horseback, along with bombs, and carts carrying the bodies of those that we have killed in Snowhead. Once there, the troops will destroy any buildings around the portal, and will set up a new structure. It will have no windows or doors, and the walls and floor will be lined with the dead. As soon as the troops arrive, they are to move the rubble so that it blocks the portal. The main building will then be surrounded by another structure, one that is much stronger. The troops are ordered to work nonstop, and to kill any that stand in their way. The first structure should take about two days to construct. Once there more soldiers will be sent to complete the second structure. Once both are done, the citizens still in the city will be ousted, and Clock Town will be laid to waste.
The second structure will be a dome, with one point at which entrance and exit can be achieved. The dome will have towers all around it, each armed with cannons. Should any army decide to camp under the dome, they will be allowed to. Should any change to the dome be made by that army, it will be destroyed by the towers surrounding it. The dome will cover the same area as Clock Town used to, so the plans will be very complicated. I’m making them myself, since no other Garo has the knowledge to make this plan a success.
Mendel arrived today, quite unexpectedly. He made it here in some sort of flying device. He explained to me how he came up with the idea, and how it worked. There was a main rotor, a tail rotor, and a front rotor. The main rotor provided lift, with the front rotor pulling the machine forward. The tail rotor allowed the machine to make left and right turns, as will as keeping the thing from spinning out of control. It was quite hastily put together, and Mendel said he encountered some problems on the way here. But this has given me a new idea. I told Mendel to fix what he could, and set out to find Boylad. I found him close by, and I greeted him thusly:
“Greetings(OoC: Lawlz, how ironic), I was wondering if I may speak to you. You told me that you destroyed the bridge to Snowhead. I remember you saying something about how you returned, but I do not recall what it was. Would you mind informing me of how you made it across the gap you created?”
And on another note, Trajan brought me the Lens of Truth.
Trajan’s Log- So, I was wandering around some of our unofficial territories, when I arrived in the Goron Shrine. I saw a cave in the distance. Looking closer I saw snow piling up on invisible platforms. I made my way across and entered the cave. I came into a simple room with a chest in the middle. I opened the chest, and BAM! There’s the Lens of Truth. I rushed back to Tofu, we may need this.
Mendel’s Log- So, the Peahat transportation device works. There’s still a lot of stuff that needs to be done before we can use it effectively. I made it to Mountain Village, and landed safely. After a conversation with Tofu, I began tinkering around with it. I’m proud of it. Yay.
I’ve jotted down some ideas for new research. I’ll look into them more once we’re back home. Also, troopses.

The Order of Innocence
Log of Boylad Young:
We met the Garo in Mountain Village. I informed Tofu Ninja of our false alliance with Snowhead and of the destroying of the ice bridge. He seemed quite pleased. We also discussed Clock Town, and I told him of the portal to Hyrule. We agreed that action must be taken to defend Termina from possible attack. He also asked how my troops were able to get to the other side of the gap after blowing up the bridge. I told him that we knew of a song, but that I was not at liberty to go into detail just yet.
I sent the Axechildren back to the Swamp. They left and returned by means of the Song of Soaring. They brought back 75 additional Powder Kegs, as well as more troops, including 1000 Spellchildren, half gifted with Fire magic, the other half with Earth magic.
Since the troops of Snowhead and their allies are still unaware of our betrayal, we have decided to “join up with them to eliminate the Garo threat.” Long story short, the Garo and I (but mostly the Garo) have annihilated all enemy troops outside of Snowhead temple. That only leaves the soldiers there, and they’re not going anywhere soon.
Log of Gallass:
The Brainchildren have successfully completed research on creating Deadly Swamp Water. One of them explained to me how it will work. Touching the acidic water will not affect an enemy immediately. It will be about a minute or two – when the enemy cannot escape the waters so quickly – that the water will begin to burn the surface of his skin. By the time he makes it onto dry land, he will have suffered severe burns, rendering any affected body parts useless. If the acid is not washed off with water right away, it could burn its way into the enemy’s bloodstream, causing certain death. Consuming the water also spells doom for the drinker.
One of the great joys I find in this Deadly Swamp Water is that it looks exactly like normal water. No discoloration. No odor. An enemy will not know what hit him until it’s too late. The Brainchildren are now at work in finding a way to contaminate the entire Swamp with this water.
Some progress has been made in the way of training our soldiers. The Spellchildren’s magical abilities are growing stronger each day. Already they have mastered simple spells in their respective elements.
The Fire Spellchildren now know Heatwave, which can heat certain metals to their melting point. The downside is that they have trouble focusing their Fire magic on one particular target, meaning that they will have to work in groups in order to cause any damage to an enemy. This tactic will prove useful against armored enemies. The Fire Children have been sent to Snowhead to provide assistance to Boylad.
The Water Spellchildren have learned Mist, which forms a thick cloud of water vapor. It can be used in a variety of ways. Hiding friendly troops or weapons, covering enemy troops to obstruct their vision, and sending messages over long distances.
The Wind Spellchildren have mastered Gust, which can blow an approaching enemy off his feet and onto the ground.
The Earth Spellchildren now know Tremor, which causes a low-power earthquake under the feet of an enemy, weakening their balance and possibly sending them to the ground. The Earth Spellchildren have been sent to Snowhead, at Boylad’s request.
The Thunder Spellchildren have learned Shockwave, a low-power wave of electricity that can run through metal weapons and possibly cause the weapon-carriers to drop them.
The Ice Spellchildren have learned Frost, which can freeze water. Not very effective in battle unless the enemy really doesn’t like feeling cold.
Three thousand recruits have joined the army.
And finally, half of the Brainchildren have been pulled aside to research something huge. The gods have blessed us in so many ways… With victory, purity, and Paradise (eventually). We should therefore thank them. Four great statues will be built to honor the gods, one on top of each of the four temples. The statues will be massive, about ten times the height of what the Clock Tower had been. Of course, mining for material will prove to be very difficult, as will be the actual construction of the statues. More complex than anything I first anticipated, but the gods deserve such praise.
We would need to transport the material when we find it, so I contacted the Garo to see if they had any beasts who could handle the burden or if they had some other more efficient mode of transport. I also asked if they knew of any material that could be used to build the statues. Stone is nice, but I’d like something shinier and more precious, and gold is not abundant enough for such an endeavor. And finally, I sought permission to eventually construct a statue in their territory.

Bob's Log
The research on the Blue Fire, Red Ice, and Shadow Medallion is complete. Mass producing the first two is, alas, out of our reach until our mages have learned fire and ice magic. I'll have to look into that upon my return.
The Medallion, according to the mages, holds great power over the Shadow element, and they beleive it has some connection to the Temple itself. To confirm or disprove this myself, I'm leaving tommorow on another trip to the deeper areas, bringing with me a retinue of Mages, Knights, and Iron Knuckles, 500 of each. Zig shall also accompany me.
The group sent to Dodongo's Cavern has returned, bringing back 3250 Dodongos. I've commanded some of the other troops to begin training them, which we estimate should take 24 days or so.
(OoC: Not bothering with Zig's "Log" anymore. Outside of battle and such, it's the same every time.)

The Order of Innocence
Log of Boylad Young:
Gallass has sent a messenger to me, asking that I find some material to build some statues to honor the gods. A weird idea, but whatever help we can get from the divine, we’ll take. The Earth Spellchildren got to work, combining their Tremors to produce mountain-shaking earthquakes. After a few hours of looking, we came across a material I have named bronze. It will be transported to the other three regions, with workers picking up what they can carry and then warping to an owl statue with the Song of Soaring. This method of transport will be far more efficient than carrying it across Termina in carts.
I am impressed with how the Spellchildren have progressed since the beginning of their training. I am considering having the entire army learn magic… but I shall think about it more before I make a decision.
The Garo have requested that I come along with them to Snowhead, so that they would have a way to return. Making sure my flute was still in my pack, I followed them to the gap.
Log of Gallass:
The Brainchildren in charge of designing the statues are off to a good start. For stability purposes, it is best if the statues are built on large bases. But they had so many different designs. Some were wooden; some were stone. Some were round; some were square. I decided that it would be best to have a round stone base. The stone would be strong enough to support the weight of the statue, and the roundness would enable it to turn. Turning a statue sounds kind of odd, but I think the symbolism – a god looking out at all the land – might be pleasing.
So the builders are now working to make the first of the round stone platforms. Thirty-seven feet in diameter, it should take about eight days to complete.
To help the builders reach high enough to build the Colossus, we are working to capture large birds that have been appearing throughout the Swamp lately. When our Bowchildren first saw one, it took several arrows to kill it. We thought it was one-of-a-kind, but now more have been turning up. They are quite strong, more than capable of carrying the workers.
The Brainchildren have also found a way to contaminate the entire Swamp with the Deadly Swamp Water. The highest point in the region, Woodfall Temple, contains the source from which the Swamp gets its water. We have contaminated the water there, so now the entire Swamp is filled with the deadly agent. Boats are now used to move through the waters, and all members of the Order have been advised to take extreme caution when traveling in the Swamp.
I finally got around to questioning the weird guy we found in Clock Town. He calls himself the Happy Mask Salesman. “You’re very lucky that you’re alive,” I told him. “Normally, I would just kill you since you’re an adult. However, you seem… different. You seem like you’re hiding something. Tell me what you have to offer, and I won’t kill you immediately.”
“I have nothing. Just these masks.”
“Magical masks, right?”
“No, these masks don’t have any powers. All of my magical masks have been stolen from me over the years.”
“Then I really have no use for you,” I said, motioning for an Axechild to come.
“No, wait!” he shouted desperately. “I don’t have any objects of worth, but I can provide you with information.”
“You have ten seconds to peak my interest.”
“In this land, there are many beings – both living and dead – whose hearts are… not right. Depressed, emotionally scarred people searching for meaning in their lives. Distressed souls calling from their graves, searching for someone to complete their unfinished business.”
I was not impressed. “Time’s up,” I said, making way for the Axechild to do his business.
“I can teach you a song to heal them of their suffering,” the Happy Mask Salesman blurted out.
I motioned the Axechild to lower his weapon. “And why would I want that?”
“Those souls will no doubt offer rewards for your trouble.”
I thought it over for a moment. “Fine, teach me the song.”
Out of nowhere an organ appeared in the room, and the Mask Salesman taught me the Song of Healing. When he was done, the organ disappeared.”
“Where the hell did that organ come from?” I asked, motioning once again for the Axechild to step forward.
“You said you wouldn’t kill me,” the Mask Salesman pleaded.
“I said I wouldn’t kill you immediately,” I told him, just before the axe fell. “Immediately is over.”

Tofu Ninja’s Log- Okay, Boylad accompanied us to the bridge to the temple. Mendel started up the machine. We made it into the air, and began the trek to the temple. We got close enough to land, but Mendel said it would be safer to just jump off. So we did. Mendel took off back towards mountain village, but the wind got the better of the craft. We saw it crash near the bridge. There was a tense moment as we watched for any sign of Mendel. A few moments passed, and we saw Mendel stand up and wave his arms. He started making his way down to the village, it looked like he was okay. Myself and the ten troops that accompanied Boylad and I made our way into the temple. I insisted that Boylad wait near the entrance. I feared that if anything happened to him, then Ikana would be blamed.
We made our way into the temple, killing off what troops we found. At one point a Goron charged at us, and I recognized him as the one who came through the village. I charged at him, but before he could attack, I punched him in the face with my right hand. He was instantly knocked unconscious. Two troops bound him up and carried him back to the entrance. Now it is the eight troops and myself.
We ventured further into the temple, passing what traps we could. The troops grew in number as we approached a certain room. We reached what appeared to be a large circular room. All of a sudden a mechanical bull charged at us. We jumped out of the way, but the troops were knocked unconscious by debris. The bull came around again, but this time I was ready. I leaped off of a wall, grabbed onto the bull, and pulled myself up. On the top was a panel of some sort. I pulled it off, and looked inside. There was all kinds of machinery and wiring, so naturally I assumed if I cut it all up the machine would fall. At the same time as I reached for my sword, a cannon popped up and shot at me. I lost my balance and almost fell off, managing to grab the opening in the back of the beast. One of the Garo woke up, saw my plight and tossed me a bomb. I lit it and dropped it in the panel. I pushed off the side of the machine just as the bomb exploded. The machine made it around the next turn, and out of sight. Minutes passed, yet it still did not make it back around. We investigated, and found that it had been disabled. I sent two troops to go get Boylad. We’ll need some more help for getting this thing to the Mountain Village.
Trajan’s Log- Okay, so. Apparently the titanium extraction process is complete. We made a nice amount today, enough for some decent armor I would think. I took one of my spare robes and sewed some of the titanium plates into it. It worked incredibly well. The plates were put into the forearm area, the upper arm area, the chest, back, groin, thigh, and calf. The robe was noticeably heavier, but not too much. I then experimented with this cape that Mendel found. Once I put it on, I felt incredibly light. I was able to jump higher and farther, and even managed to glide for a little while. I could feel the weight of the armor still, and I began to get an idea. I wrapped some titanium in the cape, and it felt incredibly light. It seems the cape makes all things incredibly lighter. Research has been started on it, replication of the cape is expected to take 20 days. In other news, 500 troops showed up today. Beautiful.
I’ve also started to look into the shadow magic we’ve picked up. It would seem that this would be helpful on down the line, so I guess it’s time to start using it.
Mendel’s Log- Okay, so, the thing crashed. Oh well, it was a prototype. I’m going to get some troops and bring the wreckage back to the Mountain Village. I’ll see about repairing it, at least what I can. I noticed something about the power source as well. It seems that it recharges its own energy at a certain rate, so if we use energy at the same rate it reproduces it, we have an infinite power source. If we go over, the energy starts to get drained. There may be some way to amplify the power it gives out, so that at the equilibrium rate we can get more power than we normally could. But I’m getting ahead of myself, I have to get the damn thing working before I do anything.
Research Started-Roc's Cape Reproduction- 20 days Shadow Magic research- Ongoing

Altar Carbon’s log The searches have proved fruitful. I have found Nayru’s Love. The Great Fairy who taught it to me was located on a small island between the shore and the island containing the Water Temple. I have taught it to the magic users present there, and have ordered them to teach it to the others when they complete their magic training.
After several shipments of Zora Tunics arrived, I have ordered that the Water Temple be refitted as the center of a fortress, with the main part of it being on Lake Hylia itself. Building on and in the lake will be difficult, so it will take 168 (42) days to finish it, but the result will permit many traps. It will be easy to defend. We will also convert the passage between Lake Hylia and Zora’s Domain to be more accessible, as well as easier to defend. The River-Lake Passage will take 28 (7) days to complete.
I have also received a reply from Nabooru. She seems willing to trade the Bombos Medallion for the Shadow Medallion. I have sent the Gerudo the following reply:
Lady Nabooru, Bombos creates explosions. I have not heard of the Shadow Medallion, but I am returning to Kakariko to look into it. Altar Carbon
Shadow Medallion. It’s likely that the army in the Shadow Temple would know of it, so I have sent the following letter to Bob:
Lord Bob, I have come across a need for the Shadow Medallion, which I believe would reside in your territory. If you have news of it, tell me. I propose a trade. Altar Carbon
After sending the letter, I returned to Kakariko. There, I taught the magic users Nayru’s Love, and ordered them to teach it to the others when they were able. I have also remembered that we have Red Ice and Blue Fire from the Ice Cavern, and ordered them to be researched. It should take 20 (5) days.
Live Action “You are certainly spending a lot of effort to build these fortifications,” the king said to Altar. They were dining in Carbon Manor, as they have done since the king arrived. Aurora and Zelda sat nearby, other guests filled the rest of the table, and guards lined the walls. Servants rushed back and forth with food and drink.
“I feel it is required. Armies are moving and gathering. War is brewing. I fear that the recent battle at Zora’s Domain is only the beginning.”
“You are forging alliances. Even with the Gerudo.”
“Alliances work to befriend honest foes, but otherwise may prove our undoing unless we defend ourselves. Now, if you will excuse me, Your Highness, I must go relieve myself.” Altar stood and left, passing behind the princess as he did. She took a sip of her wine and continued eating. Suddenly, she clutched her throat. She struggled to breathe, but was unable to do so. Pandemonium broke out in the hall, and when Altar returned the king was struggling to stop his daughter’s choking, but it was in vain. She died in his arms by the time Altar rushed to the king’s side.

Bob's Log:
I've returned to the surface. Down below, we found...nothing. Or at least, nothing that seems connected to the Medallion. We did manage to turn up some weird looking golden spiders, though. Five of them, to be exact. They don't seem to be capable of fighting, but the noise they make is rather annoying. If nothing else, maybe we could...I don't know...Breed them for torture or something. Or sneak them into enemy bases and let them drive the Generals insane. I've ordered the mages to do some research, and see if there's anything we could use them for. They estimate it will take about 20 days
In my absence, the training of the Dodongos has finished, as has the research of the Hookshot. I've ordered for it to be mass produced. We should be able to produce about 250 a day.
Also, a message arrived from Altar Carbon some weeks ago. I've sent the following response:
Altar Carbon, As it happens, the Medallion is in my possession, and has been for quite some time. Name a time and place for us to meet, so we may discuss a trade. Bob Bobican

Altar Carbon’s log The research on Morpha’s Remains still hasn’t turned up anything, so I’m putting it on hold for the time being.
The magic training has been complete. However, that is not enough. The troops know basic magic, but in the end, for it to be effective, they need to know more. So I’ve ordered further research. Intermediate magic training should take 56 (14) days.
The Kakariko and Death Mountain Trail Gates have been completed.
Research on Red Ice and Blue Fire has completed. In the end, Red Ice cannot be melted by heat. The only thing that can do anything to it is Blue Fire, apart from very powerful magic. I have ordered training to commence. The troops need to know how to create both. It will take 56 (14) days. Once done, it will be a valuable defensive weapon.
Research on magical infusion has also completed. I have ordered the troops to learn it. It should take 28 (7) days. It’s not particularly difficult.
Finally, I received a reply from Bob. I sent him the following letter:
Lord Bob, I believe that noon tomorrow would be a good time to meet. Come to Carbon Manor, so that I may have anything I may need on hand. Altar Carbon.
Paladin Carbon’s log The fortress is proceeding well. I got word that Zelda died. A tragic fate for one so young. I hope the king isn’t too saddened by the news.
In other news, I found the Great Fairy. She taught me the Din’s Fire spell, which I spread to the troops.
Also, several vents have been found in our construction. I have ordered a team to find out just what gasses are coming from them. That should take 8 days (48 hours).
Live Action Altar walked through one of Carbon Manor’s Open Corridors, as they were called. While they did not exceed the walls of the building, they had no walls themselves, or, for that matter, handrails. If one were to slip, he could easily fall to his death, especially at the one where Altar was walking. He was several floors above the ground, and Carbon Manor stood on the edge of a cliff, which faced that direction. The king was also there, looking down.
“Steep drop,” Altar said, walking up to him.
“It always unnerves me when I walk this way. And yet it’s the only way to the staircase.”
Altar nodded. “Yes, my ancestor and namesake, Altar the Founder, the man who built Carbon Manor, believed that a man was never safe, even in his own home, and made it like this to keep them careful. A reminder that one false step could spell your doom.”
“Interesting logic.”
“I can’t say I completely disagree with it. His father did, after all, die in this house. Although it was while it was still under construction. One of the stones that was to be used fell on his head and killed him. Altar then, in his usual morbid manner, named that stone the headstone, and used it as the headstone of the front gate.
“However, I think there was another reason that he made the Open Corridors. Many people that he did not particularly like or agree with seemed to meet their end in the Open Corridors. It’s quite likely that he built them to kill people and make it look like an accident.
“I’m sorry about Zelda.”
Altar waved his hand at that comment. At that moment, the king of Hyrule was at a corner, and a powerful gust of wind blew through the corridor. The king swayed for a moment, then fell to his death.
“You should join the Order of the Third Eye,” said a voice behind Altar. “I couldn’t save him.”
“He jumped off. He fell. He died. Valar morghulis.”
“’All men must die.’ Yes, that is true,” Toma said. “You don’t seem surprised by me.”
“I’m very surprised,” Altar replied.
“Your face does not betray you. By the way, there was one other who saw you.”
“Kill him if he told nobody. If he tells, don’t kill him. No need to arouse undue suspicion on a suicide. His daughter did, after all, choke recently.”
“So, what does that mean about me? For whom do I work now?”
“For me, of course, and for my sister. No, not my father. Although he technically is next in line for the throne, he does not want it. I’m sure you know.”
“Yes, that I do. But what if you get arrested?”
“I’ll be acquitted.”
“Why do you say that?”
“Trial by combat. By the way, I’ve heard that my father asked you to gather some information on the surrounding armies. What of it?”
“I have yet to send anyone out, I must admit. It’s a bit difficult getting everything on track here. We could only take so much with us. All the other documents had to be burned, you see. We can’t have ourselves be known to the occupying army.”
“Of course. When can I expect you to send people out?”
“I can’t give a date. We’re nearly done setting everything up, but it’ll still take a while. I’ll tell you when we’re done.”
“Understood.”

Bob's Log:
So Altar has been arrested for murdering the king. Yet he claims the king jumped to his death. I'm not quite sure which to beleive, truly. But then again, I don't really care. My House broke off from Hyrule some 300 years ago, and the death of their royal line means nothing to me.
As promised, I sent them copies of our hookshot research upon my return.
Anyway, to more pressing matters. Upon my return a few days ago, I taught Nayru's love to Zig and a few mages, ordering them to teach it to the rest. In about 8 more days, all of them should know it.
However, to our other troops, it's rather useless. So first, I must teach them all basic magic. I estimate that 40 days or so should be sufficient. And as teaching all of them the basic magic makes the mages rather useless, I shall begin teaching them intermediate shadow magic. That, I beleive, can be accomplished in about 20 days.
Research on the Golden Skulltulas, as we have dubbed them, progresses well. It's been confirmed that a few days of listening to the noise they make can drive most people insane. Presumably, those with stronger wills would last a few days longer, perhaps even a week or two. Now all that remains to be determined is whether or not we can breed and train them.

By the way, if anybody with a base in Hyrule feels like having someone present at the trial, feel free to do so. Exo, if you send someone, this may be a good time to trade the Medallions. Make the topic in the Meeting Hall if you agree.Live ActionAfter having spent several days imprisoned, Altar was glad to leave, even if it was to go to his trial. “Aurora Carbon, you are charged with the crimes of high treason and conspiracy,” called out a member of the Kingsguard. “Altar Carbon, you are charged with the crimes of high treason, conspiracy, and regicide. You will be judged by a council of the Kingsguard members.” The moment those words were said, Altar and Aurora stood and, simultaneously, said, “I demand a trial by combat!” “...So be it. And who will your champions?” “I will champoin myself!” Aurora said. “As will I.” “I shall fight Altar,” said Tyler. The member of the Kingsguard hated magic. Altar was certain that the reason he chose to fight him was to prove that magic was worthless. If he could beat the greatest mage in Hyrule without using magic, it would be a great point toward him. Anorien was the Kingsguard member that chose to fight Aurora. He, on the other hand, was a mage of great skill. “Then let’s not waste any time,” said Altar. “Shall we get to the place that we shall use for an arena?” And so, they were led into the center of the town. Slowly, a crowd gathered around them as people saw the procession. Screams of “Slay the Kingslayer!” rang out from around them. “Aurora and Anorien will fight first. Her armor and a single weapon of her choice shall be returned to her for this match.” Aurora chose Balfodsarvor, the pike she had used most often. She decided against her armor. Anorien did not have a weapon, and against magic, it would only hinder her maneuverability without offering any protection. “May Farore give courage to the one who is in the right, so that person does not falter. May Din give that person the power to win. And may Nayru give wisdom to justice, so that the unrighteous loses here today.” With the prayer complete, the battle began. Anorien unleashed a spell at once, and Aurora rolled out of the way. The battle did not last long. Altar and Aurora were evenly matched when they fought, and Anorien was not at Altar’s level. Even though Aurora did not know more than the basic magic that was now the standard training, she did know how to avoid the spells. Fire, lightning, ice, light, shadow. Those spells and more rained around her, but ducked and dodged them all. And with every spell, the distance between Aurora and Anorien narrowed. The match ended when Balfodsarvor found Anorien’ heart. It was then time for Altar’s match. His broadsword, Balpogvah, was returned to him. He did not wear armor, so that was not an issue either. Tyler also had a broadsword. The same prayer was said, and the match began. Altar started right away by casting Nayru’s Love. Tyler charged at him, but Altar parried the blows with Balpogvah. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small cone. After kicking Tyler away, he stuck it into the ground, and used his foot to cover it with dirt. Moving a short distance away, he pulled out another one, and, while keeping Tyler away from his right hand with Balpogvah, he did the same thing. “Just what are you doing?” Tyler asked, lunging at him. “Preparing a spell,” Altar answered, blocking the blow. “You can’t cast spells while you have that spell on you.” “Are you deaf or dense? I’m preparing one, not casting it. I’ll cast it once I dispel Nayru’s Love.” “What, with those things? We took away everything magical from you.” “Only that which you knew to be magical. I invented these things, and haven’t told anyone. So, you see, it’s your own fault for not being careful enough to take them from me.” During the dialogue between the two combatants, he managed to place two more cones into the ground. Altar then kicked Tyler to the ground and placed another two before the magic hater could recover. Another series of blows came. Tyler’s blows were furious, but he was still partially on the defense, knowing that he was unable to do anything to Altar. As such, Altar’s blows became even more furious. Slowly, he beat Tyler back and tripped him. Quickly, he placed the seventh cone into the ground, sheathed his sword, and raised his arm. Nayru’s Love flickered and disappeared as Tyler got to his feet once again. Once it did, the ground around the spots where the cones were lit up, and a magic array appeared around them. ( This one.) Tyler hesitated, and was gripped with fear. “What is this?” he asked. “It amplifies any magic that has its source inside the array. However, any such magic cannot leave the array. Actually, nothing can leave it, including us, until it wears off. You have a strong will, and, as such, great magical resistance, but you hate magic. Thus, this gives me an undeniable advantage against you. I’d not have used this had I fought a magic user. But your pride has led you to your death.” Altar formed a flame in one hand, and a shadow in the other, then combined the two spells. Black flames then burned in his hands, as he concentrated on the spell. He thrust one hand forward, and the flames surged forward. Tyler’s screams of agony were short-lived, however, as he was burned by them. His skin melted away and his bones were burned to dust. In the end, all that remained of him was a hole filled with boiling iron. “Were you this cruel to Zelda, Kingslayer?” one of the Kingsguard members asked. “I have just proven myself innocent in sight of gods and men, and yet you still call me that?” he asked. “I guess I am not safe from you who have sworn to protect the royal family. You failed to do so twice, and now that there is a new royal family, you wish to fail in that, it would seem. “So be it. I free you from your vows. All eight of you who remain. The Kingsguard is dissolved. You may not believe me when I say that I did not kill the king and his daughter. Fine. "But Hyrulean law states that the Carbon family is next in line for the throne. As such, you still owe me your allegiance. Perhaps one day you shall come to respect me.” Having said that, Altar waited until the array disappeared. Once it happened, he returned to Carbon Manor with Aurora. Altar Carbon’s logThe Kingsguard has been disbanded. I have been gone for quite a while, so it’ll take a while for me to catch up on everything. Then there’s the matter of leading Hyrule. Paladin Carbon’s logThe research on the gas vents has been completed. According to the alchemists, hydrogen, methane, and many other gasses are present in the vents. With such a rich deposit, it would be a good idea to figure out a way to separate them more efficiently and contain them, as I can think of a few applications for some of them. Both of them should take 28 (7) days to complete it. I have also found the Ether Medallion that Altar asked about. Unfortunately, he and Aurora are now on trial for killing the king and princess. If they’re not condemned, I’ll send it to him after. This post has been edited by Luigi Mario KOG on Aug 12 2006, 05:34 PM

Tofu Ninja’s Log- Well, Boylad got us back to Mountain Village, along with that mechanical beast. It was shipped off to Ikana along with Mendel and the remnants of the helicopter. I’m still hanging around in Snowhead, just making sure everything keeps going smoothly. Doan’s helping out a lot, he’s a good leader, I like him. We brought the Goron prisoner down to the Village. He didn’t give any information, except that he came from Hyrule and that his name was Darunia, lord of the Gorons. He said it as if it would protect him from some horrible fate. It didn’t.
He was tied down to a stone slab with the intestines of some of his troops. We made sure that he saw us tear out the intestines from the few prisoners we took of his. Once he was tied down we poured liquid iron into his eyes. His screams did not stop us from continuing the process. We began cutting off fingers and toes, then hands and feet, then ears and kneecaps. We skinned him alive and castrated him. Finally he was disemboweled and decapitated.
We found several interesting items in his belongings; a strange red stone, a red medallion, and a hammer of some kind. The medallion apparently is infused with magic, apparently fire magic. The red stone appears to have no special abilities, other than looking pretty. I’m carrying the medallion with me, and after I return to Ikana I’ll begin to research it.
I’ve decided to post a warning to the other armies in Hyrule. I’m leaving for Clock Town to check out the portal. Hopefully Kaori won’t object to allowing me passage.
I want to get more proficient with spears and pikes. I don’t know why, I just do. Then our troops can get trained with them.
Trajan’s Log- Okay, so Mendel and I have begun reverse engineering this mechanical thing. It has some pretty impressive weaponry and armor. I’ve no idea how long this will take, but hopefully we can replicate this energy cannon soon. This thing will advance our technology in leaps and bounds, huzzah.
I’ve begun to distribute the armored cloaks I’ve developed. Now that we can produce this ‘Roc’s Fabric’ on a mass scale, I’ve been able to increase the thickness of the plates, which makes the defensive capabilities that much better. I’ve got another idea, it involves the Mirror Shield. It’ll take awhile to implement it, but it should prove useful.
We’ve found that once the armor plates’ weight is negated by the fabric, the user can wear a cape and still be capable of limited flight. It will take around four days to equip all troops with the titanium plated robes and a cape. The fabric is of course dyed black to stick with tradition. Also, I’ve begun designing the ultimate defensive weapon. It will utilize the natural shape of the canyon. We need to wait until we have we discover the power source for these beamos. Once we finish all this research we can make a gate out of the beams. Who knows?
On that same note, we’ve run a few tests and can produce the beam of the sword. It’s the perfect length, and can cut through armor now. The wiring and crystals we’ve installed in the hilt work perfectly, now all we have to do is get the power source miniaturized and installed.
We’ve also filled up all of our ranks.
Mendel’s Log- Well, the helicopter’s been repaired, and with this mechanical bull thing we’ve picked up, I can make some major improvements. We can put some good armor on it now that we have titanium and this new fabric. The blades can be made stronger now, and once we figure out this power source we can make the blade system act faster. I’m trying to phase out the front propeller and add some weapon systems. I’ve got some ideas in my head for some type of rocket type weapon, as well as some miniature cannons for it. The prototype should be out in about a month.
The hand cannon prototype isn’t very accurate after a certain distance. I want to increase the range, but I just don’t know how. Hell, right now some arrows are shooting farther than the projectiles from hand cannons. I also need to upgrade the whole thing. There’s got to be a way to load more than one shot. This will take some thinking.
I headed out to the Observatory and spoke with the astronomer there. We talked as scientists, and I eventually got around to asking him the question that caused me to go there in the first place. I asked him for some type of device that would allow troops to see further. He gave me his word he would work on something and get a prototype to me as soon as he could.
Research Started- Prototype Attack Helicopter- 30 days Rifle Plans-20 days Equipping army with titanium plated cloaks and Roc’s Cape- 4 days Mirror Shield Research- 8 days Prototype Binoculars-4 days
-Items Acquired- Fire Medallion Goron's Ruby Megaton Hammer
Tofu to Clock Town- Like five real minutes, seriously

Bob's Log:
The trials of Altar and Aurora have concluded, and both have been found innocent. Altar has taken the reins of Hyrule, starting by disbanding the Kingsguard. A pity...I'd always wanted to cross blades with one of the White Swords. Ah well...
The research on Golden Skulltulas is complete, and the conclusion has been reached that we can both train and breed them. First, we're focusing on the latter. However, I can give no estimate of how long it will take to produce a useful number of them.
Also, it has been brought to me attention that, though the plans were drawn up long ago, I never got around to ordering construction of the Graveyard Fortress to begin. I really need to get some officers other than Zig to make sure these things get done. Giant eyes are rather useless in that regard.
Be that as it may. I doubt the villagers will be pleased if we just tear down the headstones and build over graves, so I sent a few troops up to Death Mountain to buy a few thousand bombs. We're going to blast open a new area, and move all the graves there. I'm sure the villagers won't be too pleased about that either, but that's the best I can do. Plus, there's always the possibility of the graves yielding something useful to us. We estimate that the blasting will take about 20 days.

Altar Carbon’s log 1 750 Goron Tunics and 1 750 Zora Tunics have been sent to the Shadow Temple since the trial.
We have also received the Hookshot research from the Shadow Temple army. I have ordered Hookshots to be produced as well. We’ll be able to make 250 per day (1 000 every real day).
Hyrule is dead. The royal family has changed, and Hyrule Castle belongs to another entirely. I do not believe that I am capable of recovering the castle. It is too well-defended. As such, I have changed the name of the kingdom that I rule. The name is now Valyria. I have asked Aurora to tell it to the people, as I am not loved by the populace. The still call me Kingslayer.
Two artifacts were found recently as well. In the graveyard, while the Shadow Temple army was digging out the graves, one person found a Magic Cape, which makes the wearer invisible (although a shadow can still be seen). The other is a pair of boots, the Pegasus Boots, which allow the wearer to run at speeds greater than those he normally is capable of achieving. They were in the house of a recently deceased sage named Sahasrahla.
I have ordered both of those artifacts to be researched. The Magic Cape research will take 80 (20) days, while the Pegasus Boots research should take only 28 (7) days to complete.
Father has also returned from Death Mountain, with the Ether Medallion. I am glad he found it.
The next matter comes from Toma. He has informed me that the Lost Woods and Gerudo Valley have been vacated. I have sent Aurora to the Lost Woods through Death Mountain. She took some soldiers from Kakariko, and is to send some of the ones from Death Mountain to the Gerudo Valley.
Another part of the Gerudo Valley army was also composed of soldiers from Kakariko. I have placed Bob Bobert Bobington XXIII in charge of them. He is a minor noble, but I bumped up his position a bit in exchange for loyalty.
Aurora Carbon’s log I have announced to the people that the nation of Hyrule no longer exists, and that this was now the kingdom of Valyria. Thankfully, they took the news fairly well.
Afterwards, Altar sent me to take the Lost Woods. I have just arrived to claim them.
Paladin Carbon’s log The research for gas containment and separation has been completed. Alchemists say that even gasses have weights, with many being lighter than air is on average. Depending on the concentration, they could make the containers lighter while full than when they’re empty. I wonder.... Could it be possible to...? I think so. A team of alchemists, headed by Alastor Seehara, has been ordered to research light gasses in more detail. It should take 28 (7) days.
Also, the Death’s Door Fortress has been completed.
Finally, I have received word that Altar and Aurora have not been condemned, each emerging victorious from a trial by combat against Kingsguard members. I have left to Kakariko to deliver the Ether Medallion to Altar and help get things sorted out.
Toma’s log Found a new recruit for the Order. Altar’s renaming of the nation’s making things difficult.
It also seems that the armies occupying the Lost Woods and Gerudo Valley have left. I reported this matter to Altar.
Bob Bobert Bobington XXIII’s log I have been sent out to take Gerudo Valley and the Haunted Wasteland. I recently arrived there. Once finished surveying the land, I am to conduct a thorough search and make a proper garrison.
