It's my birthday on the 12th, and since our financial situation is really fucked up, I always get my present at the end of June. I really wanted to either upgrade my PC further so it would be closer to running Diablo III when it comes out (unless it can already run it since the system requirements have yet to be released and the graphics look similar to WoW which my PC can run great; then it would just run the game better), which included getting a new HDD because my unbelievably small 20GB HDD has 2.49GB of free space left, or somehow swing a used DS and a copy of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and/or Mario Kart DS.

Unfortunately, I only had $60 to spend, which would've been sufficient for most of my PC upgrades (at least an extra 1GB of RAM and a new 40GB - 80GB HDD), but not for the DS; the cheapest I could find was $79.99 for a used DS Lite in fair condition. But lo and behold, fate wanted me to have my third choice: a PS2. I did a quick search on Craigslist, and the very next day, this is what I scored for $60:

-Limited Edition Satin Silver slimline PlayStation 2 (SCPH-77001) w/ one year warranty remaining
-Original box, manuals, cables, online start-up disc, et cetera
-Satin silver DualShock 2 controller
-Two 8MB memory cards
-God of War II (with case, manuals and bonus DVD)
-SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs (with case, manuals)

Everything is in near-perfect condition, the game discs are scratch/smudge/dust/fingerprint free, and I haven't encountered one single problem with anything yet. I seriously still can't believe the deal I got; I called my local video game store inquiring about a used PS2 before I found the ad on Craigslist, and they had the old, fat PS2s used with one controller for $69.99, whereas a used slimline PS2 with one controller was $89.99, and 8MB memory cards were $12.99 each.

Anyhow, before I get back to GoW II, I'd appreciate it if anyone could recommend some PS2 games that have come out in the last year (since a little over a year ago is the last time I had a PS2) that are worthy of renting/buying. I'm especially taking an interest in Odin Sphere. Even Okami looks wicked, which I missed out on when it first came out, and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Mercenaries 2: World in Flames.

I can believe it. Considering you already told me. =P

Okami is AMAZING, though it takes a long time to get through.

Good; I prefer long games, especially ones such as Okami with a completely unique art style/direction (well, to a point), unique gameplay, and the most important, game-altering feature: A WOLF! >.>;

Anyway, after I pick up a second controller with a multiplayer game, and Odin Sphere, since that game looks freakin' AMAZING, I'll definitely get Okami. If anyone else can suggest some titles that meet the criteria from the bottom of my first post, I'd really appreciate it.
