Right now, I'm holding little hope for GSW. Quite honestly, we've been through several restarts, and none of them have ever had the charm of the original. Quite honestly, it doesn't hold the same appeal to me as it once did, and that's because we keep doing the same thing of developing technologies and sending out letters for allies and such. It may have higher quality posts, but they're still the same basic stuff. No matter the ruel setup, it will still always be GSW. I think we should let it die and come up with something new.
What I propose is that we make a project where we, as a group, would write a fanfic, or even an original 'novel'(although I don't think we should be aiming quite for novel length... maybe one of those short novels). All the users could contribute to plot and overall structure, and those with the more literary talent would do the actual writing.Of the more dedicated old timers, I think that includes James, Trev, and myself. I know there are more out there like Swordmaster, but they don't dedicate the same amount of time.
The best part about this idea would be that even if it becomes dead, we can just pick up where we left off later on. It would have infinitely more potential in terms of variety than GSW because we could take the plot wherever we wanted it to go. I think it would be a fresh idea, and better than us all sitting around whining about how GSW is dead and about the 'system'.
So... thoughts? Opinions? I'm just sick of the silence that's around this board all the time.
