Sorry for the double post, but the file was enourmous, and i mean huge! 137,000KB. It would take hours for me to upload it, If anyone can reccomend any less grueling methods of taking videos please let me know

What file extention is it? Unless it was TTFAF, it shoulDnt be more than 100mb. Don't try to recorD with a recorDing feature on a normal camera, those are ussualy uncompresseD and huge.

You'll probably have to talk to Silva about converting file types, you could possibly open it in windows media player or something, anD then save it as something else. I Dunno much about movie compression types though.

FS: depending on the file type, there's bound to be a freeware program for converting the file to something smaller, if not something that came with the camera itself.

Generally, if files come uncompressed on a camera you would expect some method of saving them differently within the application you used to save them in the first place. But then, camera companies, with their complex loyalties to each other, don't always go out of their way to give away such useful functions.

For alternative answers to your problem, first check if there's another format you can save the files in when transferring them to your computer. After you've checked that, or if you've got a camera that simply uses default Windows-style transfers - ones without extra software, then tell me the brand and model of the camera. More importantly I need to know the file type that the files are currently in (you can find out by right-clicking them and selecting "Properties"). I'll then use that information to get you through converting the files.

I'd ask you to send them to me and let me do the rest, but considering the crazy size of them and how slow my connection is, the best I can do is help you sort it out on your end. Sound good?

We can try this, but im not sure if freeware will install right, because i am not the administrator of my computer and my dad is oblivious to downloading and installing almost anything. But I am running a Nikon Coolpix camera and the file type of the video is Windows Movie... Weird. Wonder why it's so big, if you said that those files dont take up as much space?

Windows Movie Maker has a save setting called "internet".

It should be below 40 megs atleast could be even lower.
