So gaming is automatically only what the hardcores want, according to you, Cherry? You're just being a prick that something different can show up and uproot your mighty PlayStation. I'm sick of it. Stop being a whiny little kid about, 'Oh, no, the PS3 isn't at 50 million like we thought!' DS outsold the PSP, and guess what? A new idea. And what do you know, it even has better games. Just because something isn't conventional doesn't make it automatically 'inferior' to 'real games'. Just because both Brain Ages combined have outsold the PS3 doesn't reall mean that it doesn't count since 'Brain Age isn't for the hardcore gamers'. Who gives a darn about only hardcore players anymore? Even Microsoft and Sony are copying Nintendo and doing little puzzle-esque games, but let me guess. Since it's Sony who made, it must be a real game, right? Stop obsessing over your need for Sony perfection. Who cares that the PS3 isn't 'perfect'? You're just uptight that Sony's getting its butt handed to it by the little white box, and you know what? They deserve it, the PS3 is a piece of crap. They didn't try for a gaming experience, they tried to get you to buy a darn home theatre. Everyone whines, "Oh, don't say that about it, its still new.", then you turn around and do the same crap to the Wii. But guess what? The Wii is better. It's sold out worldwide, and expected to keep so through the holiday season. Meanwhile, over one million PS3's sit in stores around the world, but you ignore that fact, 'cause hey, it's the PS3. You whine about the game library on the Wii, then complain when someone hits the PS3's, but the Wii still has a better library. Did any one of you stop and remember the Virtual Console when you were talking about the libraries? Course not, 'cause the Virtual Console is on the Wii, not the PS3. Virtual Console adds over 100 of the best games from five different systems, but since it wasn't the PS3's idea, you don't include it. Thanks to the Virtual Console, Wii has at least three games out every week, and once again, there's been more Virtual Console downloads than PS3 sales. And then there's the Wiimote/Sixaxis. Once again, Sony steals something from Nintendo(what else is new?), loses rumble(why?), and few games even use it. It was a waste(a waste on the PS3!?!? No!), and everyone knows it. As opposed to the Wiimote, but no, everyone complains about it, because look at it, it's new and it's exercise! That must be horrible. All you do is complain about the minigames on it, and I have to agree that there's too many, but really, how fun was Raving Rabbids on the Wii compared to the 360? Sure, Wii Play sucked, but it was a $10 game, you only bought it for the Wiimote. You just don't like that something as 'casual' as minigames are so drastically outselling the 'real' PS3 games. Then there's online. But Nintendo apparently screwed that up. All you do is complain about Friend Codes, but then you turn around and use 'em. I know how hard it must be to write numbers down on paper, and finding someone to play!? Ha, good luck, you've only got the internet to look on! You whine that it's to hard to find people to play with, but really, the internet isn't the hardest thing to work at its simplest function. Hard to find people to play with, I think, would be more low sale PS3 online games than high selling Wii games with Friend Codes. You can say the PS3 online is easier to use, but here's hoping that one of the three and a half million PS3 owners is actually on the same game as you. You don't like that the PS3 is losing, but being hypcritical about it and the Wii really isn't gonna help sales. In fact, only thing that'll help sales is easier developing and a way lower price. Let's hear from Sony CEO Howard Stringer on that, shall we? "Nintendo Wii has been a successful enterprise, and a very good business compared with ours, because it's cheaper"- Sony chairman and CEO Howard Stringer realizes people like stuff more when it costs less. That's definitely helping the Wii. Besides already being accessable, it's cheap, which opens it up even more. Not every person in the world has $600 they have to crank out if they want a PS3(hence the one million plus sitting around in stores, chilling next to bargin bin junk), but a $250 simplistic Wii seems a lot better. Also, back to the Wiimote for a second, all the PS3 lovers hate the Wiimote, love Sixaxis. Sixaxis is a crappy version of the Wiimote. Let's move on. The price, right. Sony loves price drops lately, but that's only for phasing out so they can keep the PS3 at $600, 'cause you can just tell how much Sony hates buyers this generation. Their 'price drops' are really just the same thing as something before it, except with some more space. Personally, the space that a game is on is really all I need, if I want tons pictures and music, I'd use much better(and cheaper) things called a camera and an iPod. We don't need the PS3 to have all that extra crap on it, it's literally and figuratively weighing it down. Kill all the extra stuff out of the PS3, chuck Blu-Ray, give it HD if it's that desperate, and imagine what it would be like then. Cheaper price, smaller, easier to develop for. All things the PS3 needs, but now can't have. You're jealous of the Wii.

Yeah, I just had to bring it here. Sums up the PS3 and Wii quite nicely, without all that fanboy crap everyone goes on about, when it's really just flaws in what they like, but now I'm getting into another rant, so I'll have to stop.

I'm a hardcore gamer. The most mainstream game that I've played as of late is Guitar Hero.
Do I like that the Wii and DS are over run with random, mass appeal games? No, not really. But I don't buy those games, and if it gets someone to pick up the system, or it sells well, from a business standpoint, I can totally see why it's such a crowded market. As for the Wii, that's never going to be a hardcore system. Hardcore games WILL not work on the Wii. And even if it was feasible with the control scheme, the greatest share of users are old ladies, so yeah. As for the PS3, Sony is only playing catch up. Had they had the start that Microsoft did, they wouldn't be so deep in the crapper. They also need to stop pulling all of this crap about lowering prices in liquidation attempts, and, well, stuff like that. As for online, if it was different, people would still be complaining, and thats the way it always is. The only big problem with Nintendo's online is that there isn't any universal friend code system. That's going to kill the entire set up. |

If it was universal, it'd be much longer.

Not necessarily.
Though, I guess the DS doesn't have upgradeable firmware, so... it would be kinda impossible, or, illogical, I guess. But still, different friend codes is really inconvenient, in a really obnoxious kinda way. |
