yeah, the guild is more like an kingdom, you can still go in other party's.

wow, beautiful landscape, but at exacly do you have to do in the game? Is it just fighting with monsters or is there actually an aim?

you can fight monsters and do quests and stuff (PvE=player vs enemy)
or PvP (player vs player) that's only fighting other people with strongest armors skills etc. (i don't like that, so i won't try)
some wanna play in PvE(like selling and collecting stuff) and others wanna go levels up, do quests to get experience and beat the final boss (that's far away for newbies) and arenanet will put stuff in like halloween and xmas (they say something about wintersday but i still don't get it ) and if you're bored you can chat with people who want to
anyway, it's a great game to explore land and since guildwars is a CORPG*look at the pinned topic* you'll need others help sometimes, some will always use runners, those are bringing them to places they can't find or go to because they're on low level, i think it's just playstyle
Me? i'm using runners too, but not always because i wanna fight and find gold and go levels up so that i don't need help, but i'm not good at guildwars yet (there's someone who has the game like a month and he's better than me, i have it like 3-4 months, not that i care because i wanna have fun, it's not a serious life for me)
what i'm saying is that it's a game with a lot of possibilities, and cheap, because most of this kind of games MMORPG's do have fees, that means you'll have to pay every month, guildwars has no fees

it looks like the forum's dead, but i post anyway, i now have 2 accounts 1 with guildwars chapter1 and 1 with chapter 1 and 2, i now can have 6 characters in that account and i can go to both chap1 and 2 lands called tyria(1) and cantha(2)

there now are these:
GuildWars prophecies, which's land is called Tyria
GuildWars Factions, which has a land called Cantha
GuildWars Nightfall, which's land is called Elona
GuildWars Eye Of The North, which is also in tyria, but then filled up some unused places and is an expansion, so you need 1 of the above chapters to be able to play this one

"builds" are the skill bars you can make, so the skills you use together in 1 bar is called a "build"

"build" also can mean a change in GW itself, so it has to update, but the pvxwiki is about skill builds
