Appearance:Mari Sicily Evans has shoulder-length silky blonde hair. Her hair can be described as fair, a blonde with dark roots or just a pure blonde. Contrary to belief, blonde is her natural hair color, her roots are only dark because her eyebrows are, an accident due to nature. Her hair is usually curled elegantly and hanging in her face, though it can be seen in a curled ponytail, with strategically placed whisps of hair framing her face. Her eyebrows are perfectedly arched--an effect of years of finally taming them to do so. Her high cheekbones are only accented by her naturally rosy complexion and her full pink mouth, which is usually parted, as she is always talking or thinking about something. Their pinkness is due to nature and her constant nibbling on the bottom lip, a habit whenever she is overcome with nerves or just in intense thought.
Mari's skin has a tan to it that is entirely by accident. An accident due ot many days spent outside running around with children, her little brother and sister, or an effect of her spending beautiful summer days bathing int he sunlight with a thick novel. Unmistakably, ther's no denying that she does have a figure, a very small one, but curves in all the right places, regardless. Her long shapely legs seem to run for miles, starting from her feet and ending at her neck. Mari's brilliant azure blue eyes seem to penetrate a person's soul. They can be so expressive and deep one minute, but then cold and flat the next, as if her emotions were locked away, which is the probably the case with Mari.
With an appearance like this, she seems perfect, but anything but. After all, all Mari wants to is to be unnoticed, most of the time, and with this tan body and big azure eyes and fair blonde hair, she has a hard time doing so. So, she makes up fot he best she can. She wears jackets and long sleeves to cover up pearly scars on her wrists and forearms, results of many childhood instances. She prefers jeans and sneakers over anything formal and dressy. True, she doesn't mind dressing up, but she prefers the casual over the fancy, and the laid-back over the preppy. Whether she's insecure about her small 5 foot 6 stature, or if she's just shy, she uses excessive and bulky clothing to cover up insecurities.

Mari has the ability to create and manipulate fire. From years of practice, she learned that it was through sheer anger that her power came through, and she learned how to recall on traumatic things to call forth her anger to ccreat the fire. She can form it as a ball in the palm of her hand, an a glowing orb of flaming death, if you will. But she can also create fire out of nothing, and she prefers to use this element when near wood or eartg, fearing the affect that air and water would have on it. This power is mainly used when only necessary, because it's difficult to maintain herself while maintaining the fire, due to it's overwhelming presence and sheer power.
Mari has the ability to manipulate fire also, but as it's harder to manipulate than create, she prefers having a boost of help, from a lighter that she always keeps carried in her pocket. Though she can create fire, she's found it more difficult to manage when she tries to manipulate a fire she created out of thin air.

As an effect of being able to manipulate fire, Mari can also bend it into semi-corporeal shapes. Mostly she can manipulate them into animals, as they are easier to bend with. Her favorite is a black raven, with a fire tail and ember orange/yellow eyes. Although this may seem powerful, she can control it, but it drains more out of her than she'd like, so she can't really control them for longer than a few hours. And they're mostly used as an added protection, if she's unable to fufill the duties herself.

Mari's power over fire led her to the ability to ignite her body in flames, consuming her with the raw hot power of full fire. It's sparse and harder to control. Usually, whenever she does complete a full transformation, instead of just igniting her hands or legs or head, she falls into a deep slumber afterwards, unable to reawaken until her body has gained back the energy it so unceremoniously lost in her fit of undeniable rahge.

History: Mari Sicily Evans was born in Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 20th, 1990. She was born at 5 pounds, 6 ounces and was the most cloudy-greyed baby in the nursery. Because she was born while her mother was suffering from eclmapsia, she had trouble breathing on her own. But after being in the hospital for two months, she was finally allowed to go home. Her mother, unfortunately, died while giving birth, living just long enough to name her baby girl before elasping into a coma that she would eventually die in. Her mother's name was Rosalie Dewitt-Becauter. Her father's name is Richard P. Evans, Attorny-at-law. Her father was so overjoyed at being able to bring on of his women home, he wasn't able to mourn properly, or at all, having to rush her into a nanny's care before going back to work. Mari was a right spoiled little girl, lving the comfortable life, but still managing to stay level-headed throughout it all. It was a perfect life, with just her and her father. But when she was seven, terror struck.
Turns out that Richard had been spending quite alot of time dating and flirting and behaving like an unfit parent. It was on her seventh birthday that Richard announced that he would be marrying another woman, claiming that she had bewitched him with her ways. It wasn't until later that Mari realized that she was only getting a new step-mother because her father had been careless and had gotten her pregnant and decided to do the honorable thing and marry her. In actuallity, Richard never cared for Sharon at all, and would spend many years cheating on her. Nonetheless, Sharon and Richard were married and Mari became a big sister to her new step-siblings, Jonathan and Jacqueline, a set of fraternal twins two years younger than her.
Mari, Jonathan and Jacqueline got along famously, playing in the woods surrounding the acre of land and playing in the backyard, chasing fireflies. When a year passed and Sharon had yet ot give birth, she was forced to admit that she had miscarried to the child earlier and had been afraid to tell them. Richard was crestfallen, but soon grew over it, returning to doting upon his daughter like a princess, but still treating his new step-children like royalty, and they loved him for it. All three children attended private schools their entire life, Sharon refusing to allow her 'precious babies' elsewhere. Mari's grades were excellent and she never met a teacher who didn't like her. But, little did she know that it was about to get worse.
When Mari was about ten, her mother grew envious of the amount of attention that such a little presence could command and convinced her father to lock her away, or as Sharon put it, 'send her to a special boarding school for special girls'. Richard agreed, believing that Sharon only had Mari's best intentions at heart, after all, she ahd shown nothing but comapassion and love towards her before now. Mari was sent to a mental institute in uptown Maine, where she was subjected to dozens of electroshocks and painful remedies, for they believed that Sharon had sent her here to 'cure' her of something. For months, Mari wasted away, her only retreat being her mind and her ability to block the pain out, imaging herself in an alternate life where her mother was still alive and her father wasn't a cheat or a work-aholic. At the age of twelve, Mari was sent back home, and it was then that her first power showed itself. She had the power of fire, and it was when she was playing with her Jonathan, now only ten, and he ran into her, she grew playfulyl angry and a flame ignited within her hand, burning orange and yellow against the dark blue sky. They stared at each other wide-eyed and both screamed. When Sharon found out, she tried to have Mari sent away again, this time with proof that she was crazy or possessed or something.
Richard refused to send her away, finally realizing what he had subjected her to for two years. It was while reasearching on the internet that Mari found out about Galway Bay and their school for gifted children. With much prodding to her father, who could deny her nothing, he agreed to fly to Ireland and check it out. Once there, Mari fell in love with the school, and couldn't help the magnetic pull towards the school, mainly the basement and the longing to stay there for eternity. Richard payed for her tuition and Mari has been happily attending the school since eighth grade, making this her fourth year as a student there.
