If you passed by Leon Monroe, you could easily tell alot about him. First off you'd most likely pass by him in Corona labs, seeing as he spends night and day in that building, either in his labratory, in meetings, or in the cot in one of the break rooms, his appartment fell into disarray long ago and he has all his mail delivered to his office. Another thing that immediately stood out about Leon is that his glasses covered eyes had rather large dark circles as well as bags under then from countless hours of lost sleep and what little sleep he did get was usually full of nightmares about the very person that he was in charge of. He also was rather meek looking, almost as if he was starving. Seeing as he has very little time to actually try and work out, that and he's skipped way too many meals, making him look almost as if he was starved. The man was very paraniod, often being seen as rather jumpy due to both his lack of sleep as well as having to deal with Saeryn way too many times when she somehow snuck out of using her meds. Monroe was pacing back and fourth, something he did when he was frustrated, and he was frustrated often. Saeryn just followed him back and fourth as he walked as she sat on a table that had the thin paper on it like most doctor's offices. Monroe was breathing rather heavily in panic and finally he stopped for a moment to speak to Saeryn, "Saeryn... don't you understand what's going on." Saeryn shook her head side to side, her hair was still rather wet seeing as she had recently finished her shower and she didn't quite have time to dry her hair before she was dragged off to talk with Monroe for a moment before this thing that he deemed very important. Saeryn could feel the tentacles sitting just under her skin moving around, mainly because she was bored. But Monroe went on, apparently not wanting Saeryn's rather strange behavior to mess this up.
"Alright this thing is very simple, I have to leave. Apparently the cooperation thinks that I'm a "little on edge" and that I'm prone to errors. So for the next few months I'm going to be working on some other projects out of the country that are a bit less stressful."
Saeryn already knew where this was going, by now Monroe was already pacing back and fourth again, he always did that when not talking, "So I'm going to be with another researcher." Monroe immediately turned to Saeryn and he seemed rather happy that Saeryn was getting the idea by now, "Yes... yes that's it, they're probably going to use you for more of their projects then the usual, but he's getting that information not me." Saeryn never quite knew what projects she was actually being used for, apparently the ability to greatly accelerate cell's reproductive growth was her biggest asset. But she was told so little, she was just a small cog in the massive machine of corona labs. Saeryn just spoke her mind, by the way that Leon was looking at the clock so much whoever was supposed to be here was late, Part of Saeryn's twisted little mind actually wanted to try and help him, seeing as Leon had made sure that she wasn't killed on sight the several times that she managed to escape and wander the halls, "So... where will you be going." Monroe turned for a moment, almost in disbelief at Saeryn's question, "I'm going to europe... some small archeological expediton for some rich museum that happens to be a large donor to Corona, I guess the mods put two and two together." There was brief smile on his face, something that Saeryn had almost never seen from the man.
By now Saeryn's tentacles had crept out of her back and out of her jumpsuit, they were slowly moving around, wrapping around her in a lazy fashion. Leon looked at them for a moment before speaking calmly, at least the usual sped up pace that meant calm for him, "Just try not to freak him out with those." Right as he said that the door opened... and it was just who Leon was expecting.

The day began with the blaring sound of an alarm, although it was fulfilling it's purpose and not letting it's cranky user sleep in. Yet that person still cursed the alarm as if the innocent, inanimate object did something wrong in blaring its alarm to wake the sleep man. The man in question yawned and sat up, the early morning sunlight filtering in through the heavy blinds. He looked about his room with his altered vision and yawned again before grudgingly extracting himself from the tangled covers of his bed. It didn't take long to get into the shower and out, with a simple and frugal meal and a quick dress in his usual garb; a pair of black slacks, a white collared shirt, a purple tie of various geometric shapes and a pair of black leather shoes. He shouldered his white laboratory coat and made his way out of the well furnished dorm-like apartments provided by Corona.
He made his way across the simple dry-walled corridors and out of the complex, the light and airy architecture designed to invite the researches to a creative and pressure free environment. Of course the simple fact is, once inside the occupants had the same feel of a hotel, even the scent of a hotel was present. He made his way across the campus to the grouping of squat, stonewashed, concrete buildings that had no difference to any other building in the city of Maelstrom except for, however, the Corona Laboratories Incorporated logo on the side of the building. The man was on his way to the closest building, not yet late to his appointment but neither did he wish to be early.
It was a subject of reassignment, of course not really reassignment, for that would mean that the administrators were taking away or replacing tasks. No, not that, they were adding to his charge. He was to be a glorified babysitter and was none to happy about the idea. He was briefed on his charge of course, he had her file somewhere but that changed little, he was not a person to have a problem just dumped on him he reflected and then stared openly at a rather large man covered in scales.
Inside the the building was little more then a reception desk and a maze of corridors behind, the man, who knew where he was and what he was about, navigated his way with the skill of a practiced man.
She was said to be a freak, the subject he was to tend to, something not entirely human. Which wasn't exactly fair for many gave up their humanity in the search for power. Yet she was labeled as such by the other researchers and even the security guards, who in their own right were not human themselves. The subject of humanity and hypocrisy however was not something he intended to think about, she was a young girl, she was supposedly beautiful. Beautiful the way a poisonous flower was beautiful. As the man of an average height paused at the door, he couldn't help think in his eschewed fashion how much fun it was going to be, to meet the young women in spite of the danger.
He entered the room to see what he would see.
(meh  could have been better)

Saeryn opened her mouth to ask another question, her rather strange tongue could be seen if someone looked closer to her. But when the opened and another person in a lab coat poked his head through, it closed immediately. Leon turned from Saeryn to the new researcher, still keeping her in his peripherals. Leon learned fast, and the mistakes of others, some deadly some not, as well as plenty of close encounters himself, made sure that he knew a few tricks that would stop Saeryn from taking him apart. Saeryn knew that Leon wanted to teach him all of the things that could possibly keep him alive, but yet again the administrators weren't that keen on his idea and simply wanted production as usual, Saeryn remembered that albeit protracted over an hour during a rant of his to the disturbed girl. But Leon wasn't showing too much disapproval for the new researcher, if anything there was a glow to him that Saeryn hadn't seen since before Dr. Monroe first met Saeryn, that was before the constant threat of Saeryn looming over him had really drained any vitality out of him. But chances are the same thing wouldn't happen to Samuel, after all he was just a temp as Corona made sure that Monroe didn't crack and make a fatal mistake with the girl. If something like that happened then the media would be all over it, Corna labs working their employees to the point where they weren't able to be careful enough with their work, it was a 20 20 episode waiting to happen. It was that train of thought that landed Monroe with a trip to Europe, and Samuel in charge of a walking bio hazard. But after a few moments Saeryn finally shifted from Dr. Monroe to the new person...
Saeryn's went from staring at Monroe to staring at her new researcher. Her gaze was a mix of just an innocent girl, the way that she looked into his eyes just like a shy child looking at her new caretaker. But mixed into that gaze was a hint of a predator, like a lingering beast scoping out her new prey. When Saeryn first came to these labs there were alwasy bright eyed researchers thinking that they were going to be the one thing that could possibly under the years of traumatizing torture. But they would always end up either choking on their own organs as they turned into a blackened mush or watched as they devolved into hideous deformed creatures. Saeryn was looking for any sign of those, knowing that she would have plenty of chances to get those sweet little freedoms that Leon alwasy made sure she didn't get, he was always a killjoy for her. But Saeryn's idea of joy was usually watching someone die in such pain from her abilities. His hair was short and messy, and his green eyes were two little dots of color in his otherwise mute colors of his paler skin and his black hair. But Saeryn wasn't looking for an attractive man, she would have to be stuck with him weather she liked it or not, of course if she didn't like it then she could lash out. Her way of getting someone away that she didn't like was usually with a body bag. Saeryn wasn't looking him over in search of a friend, caretaker, or even someone to work with... the most accurate term was her sizing up a piece of meat.
It was Monroe's rapid speaking that broke the silence, seeing as Saeryn wasn't going to say anything but continue staring at her new toy, "Are you going to say hello?" Saeryn just gave a short awkward wave, seeing as by now more researchers thought of her as a freak to keep at arms distance. Monroe tried to smile, but it came out as stiff and unnatural, like something that hadn't been used in so long that it was rusty, but his tone didn't slow down much, it was slow enough to understand, but fast enough to make his paranoia obvious, "Well I guess this is Saeryn. She gets shy with some of the research staff, I guess it comes with her abilities," Saeryn just kept on staring at the new researcher, as Monroe started to brief him, Leon was never one for formality, at least not when there was work to be done. Leon had a whole file prepared, not wishing to let Saeryn take another life with her sick little games that she thought were oh so much fun, "Well she's not talking much... it happens, now I have a file prepared, really just what Corona knows about her, the Russians never gave us much. So what do you know about her? Just to save any time not rehashing trodden ground."
During the entire time, ever since the newbie first came into the door Saeryn't tentacles were wrapping around her gently, like several pythons creeping around some branches of some vines. It was just something Saeryn did when she was bored, it was an unconscious habit they they continued to crawl around her... She didn't quite know what the new researcher's reaction to them were, most people thought they were gross just like her tongue and when she used it to eat. But then again there were plenty of habits of hers that made others' uncomfortable, it was just her way. Saeryn just sat silently and watched the two... knowing that there was plenty of opportunity for her to have lots of devilish fun in the coming months...

It took a moment to think about what he was going to say. As he entered into the room a small researcher turned to him. He was a pathetic creature, outlined by the file oh so well. His gaunt, exhausted features were a prominent thing. Samuel knew of his eating and sleeping habits, everything in Corona was well monitored by the security channels above and the Hive. He examined him while he started talking, the lack of formality was both irritating and refreshing. He turned to the young women as she turned to him, he locked his green eyes with her two irregular eyes. She was a beautiful women, her features were very striking. His gaze was a piercing gaze, one that seemed to examine, weigh and measure while continuing on into the mind and out through the other side. Of course that was how he looked at everyone but some found it somewhat unnerving.
With that awkward wave he shifted his gaze back to Dr. Monroe and smiled warmly, "I know only what the file the Board gave me." he looked thoughtfully and lifted his hand up. His hand seemed to stretch and distort briefly as he reached off into hyperspace and pulled a paper file out of his folded region of space he kept with him. He opened up the file a flicked through a couple pages, "I've got her history, her mental analysis test results, her current research findings and so on." He looked up, "Why is there anything in particular I need to know?"
The man's eyes were drawn to Saeryn. Black tentacles had wrapped around her body. Fascinated he took a step towards her, his head tilted in the fashion he usually had with an interesting or challenging problem. He went no further, his mind still partially concentrating on the doctor's conversation but he really wanted to get closer to examine her some more.

The new scientist just looked at Saeryn after her wave, he stared right at her, right into her off color eyes. He seemed to be sizing her up for a moment, watching over the girl who he would have to keep a close eye on for the new few months. Saeryn just stared right back, when compared to Leon he seemed to extremely healthy, but then again almost anyone looked like that when standing next to him. Saeryn had heard researchers and guards talking at times, Saeryn wasn't just deadly in the way that her being touched and her abilities as a whole, but also just her being so troublesome, so mischievous, so incurably insane just seemed to drag people down, to waste them away like she did to Leon. He was currently the longest lasting researcher that she was assigned too, the others having lost their lives learning the hard way that Saeryn enjoyed what she did to people. But it was clearly able to be seen that she was a psychological terror, just wasting people away. Leon probably thought that the new one was lucky, seeing as he would be relieved before she wore down his nerves. She Saeryn just stayed quiet, her tentacles still idly wrapping around her. She just listened as the scientists talked about her, seeing as switching control of someone who was essentially a walking bio hazard was something that the administrators didn't take too lightly. And apparently Leon wanted his charge to be kept in very competent hands.
After Leon's question about what he knew, the new researcher seemed to take it with a rather light tone, "I know only what the file the Board gave me." Leon got an odd look on his face at the mention of what the board gave him, and Saeryn leaned forward slightly, her head turned to the side when she saw that the file appear in his hands. Apparently this one was just like her, albeit Saeryn's abilities got her condemned as a monster. A folder appeared in his hands, apparently the one on Saeryn as she saw her name on the tab. He quickly glanced over a few pages, he probably already read them over before he was to actually take over his duties, "I've got her history, her mental analysis test results, her current research findings and so on. Why is there anything in particular I need to know?" Leon gave a smile, as if he asked a stupid question, "the administration seems to like editing out the daft bits that they find," Leon snapped his fingers as he searched for the right word, Leon did that a lot. While he was doing this for a second one of the tentacles wrapping around Saeryn started to stray away from her. But Leon found the word that he was looking for, "Unnecessary. But let me get my notes, there's really a lot of things you have to watch out for with her." He turned away from the visitor and Saeryn to search for some files.
Saeryn had a question, it was how long she would be with him, and if he was the only one. Saeryn had been passed back and fourth before until Leon proved to be the more reliable and cautious of the two... unfortunately for him. Saeryn tapped him on the shoulder with her extra appendage and Leon nearly jumped out of his skin. He was obviously angry, "JESUS CHRIST SAERYN! Just put those damn things away!" Her tentacles quickly unraveled themselves from her limbs and disappeared into her jumpsuit and into her skin, if her back was bare then her black blood could have been seen from the small slits that her extra limbs left behind. Saeryn looked scared, and Leon quickly swallowed his anger with shame. Saeryn just looked down, still not talking. Leon just apologized, he switched from looking to Saeryn to the new scientist, "I'm sorry... I... I'm a little on edge ok... she's grabbed me plenty of times with those things and just... well when I'm not looking she loves to scare me." Saeryn just mumbled to herself, "I just had a question," Leon looked even more ashamed for snapping, his small wasted stature made himself rather strange for getting to angry. He took a deep breath and tried, and failed to sound more calm, "Then go ahead and ask, next time you can just talk instead of scaring the hell out of me." Saeryn just muttered again, "He's like me... I was wondering what he does, and why he's not kept contained like me." Leon just looked towards Sam and Saeryn just kept her head down.

Samuel was nodding as the other researcher turned around. He knew all to well the board's habit of omitting important details they viewed as superfluous. He looked around the room, searching for a seat. Spotting a stool, he made his way over to it and took a seat and continued listening without breaking his attention. He watched as the young woman's appendage moved to prod the researcher. His first impression of her was fascination, especially her extra appendages yet since Leon was not freaking out for the most part he followed suit and didn't let them bother him either. He was a bit surprised when Leon seemed to jump out of his skin and yelled at her. Amusing as the situation was Sam maintained a carefully neutral face.
The question she put forth was a good one and to it he replied, "I am a physicist. I work in the theoretical branch. The reason, I can only assume, that I am to be Leon's replacement is my minor in biology." He thought about the second part though. They were the same, kind of. She was an awakened, unimaginably insane, but still an awakened and must be treated as such; a danger. "I'm not contained because the my abilities are not geared towards unpredictable mutation and death. And I'm not mentally ill." he addressed to her and then added in a quiet mutter, "Not that they could"
He lounged in the stool, a sort of wary familiarity with the room already coming to him. He watched the researcher as he got the files, "What do you know of me Dr.Monroe?"

There was a very tense mood between Leon his charge, Sam didn't seem to be too affected, yet again he was just an observer on the side lines. Leon tried to get rid of the shame by opening a file folder and fanning through it for one moment, probably searching for his own file on Saeryn, the one that the administration doesn't cut anything from. Saeryn kept her head down, staring at her hands which slowly closed and opened, Saeryn could even see her black veins through her pale skin. On her back there could also be movement seen, squirming under the skin that was a motion that no regular human should be making, but it was another unconscious habit of hers, just because she was feeling guilty after Leon yelled at her. But it was Sam that really helped, seeing as he answered Saeryn's question and seemed to keep a cheery enough mood about it. Saeryn still kept her head down while listening, I am a physicist. I work in the theoretical branch. The reason, I can only assume, that I am to be Leon's replacement is my minor in biology." Saeryn didn't move, or give any indication that she was listening. Leon on the other hand nodded in agreement, minor in biology wasn't the best qualifications, but there were other reason that he was chosen, just as political as they were practical. But Sam kept on speaking, the other two just listened, anything to distract from the asking of the question, "I'm not contained because the my abilities are not geared towards unpredictable mutation and death. And I'm not mentally ill."
Saeryn looked up into Monroe, a strange look in her different colored eyes as she stared as Sam. Those words "mentally ill" rang in her head like the tolling of some great church bell. Saeryn barely even heard the last part of what he said, "Not that they could, What do you know of me Dr.Monroe?" All Saeryn could think of was how he just called her crazy. The words repeated themselves in her head, mentally ill, she didn't care about him saying that her powers related to killing people, just him calling her crazy. But he kept on talking, Leon pulled out the file that he was looking for. Before he could talk, Saeryn did first, it was one of the few times she wasn't mumbling so Leon paused, "He called me crazy." There was another pause, but Saeryn could only hear those words echoing in her head more and more, sometimes in Sam's voice just like she heard it and at other in a mimic of her own voice, which meant that she would need to take her pills, but she usually had a couple of minutes before the timer on Leon's watch went off that warned him... she usually had like 10 or so minutes where her voices were just a whisper, they kept on repeating Sam's words replayed, while they whispered, "He called you crazy"
Saeryn's eyes showed her hostile intent a moment before she acted, the tentacles came from both her back as well as her wrists, entangling Sam and pulling him from the stool. He pulled him close to her, her tentacles wrapping around his limbs more and more every second. Saeryn wrapped her thin arms around him from behind, holding him close like someone hugging a loved one, albeit with the tentacles helping to keep him in her grasp, and they slithered around him, strengthening her grip every second. The second that Leon saw the black tentacles fly out from Saeryn's body he drew a long metal cylinder from a case on his belt. The case took the appearance of four metal cylinders with a slot so one could see if it was full or not, almost like a holster. Leon held the injector behind his back, the injector was like a syringe, but it was made with a bit differently, the main difference was that the entire syringe was full, so there was no danger of injecting deadly air bubbles into someone's system, and only one button needed to be pressed, the whole thing was designed to be used on a very wrathful Saeryn in a moment's notice. Leon took a step towards Saeryn and the tangled Sam. Saeryn was staring right as Leon, when she spoke her inhuman tongue could clearly be seen, her voice was loud now, like a desperate plea against an aggressor of some sort. "He called me crazy, I will kill him. I'm not crazy Leon... I'll eat him from the inside out like the others I swear!"
On a show of courage that was rather uncharacteristic for Leon was clear on his face. It was partially experience, but there was something else behind it, Leon didn't quite know what it was as he stared at the mixture of crazed mutant, unfortunate researcher, and the unnatural limbs belonging to the aforementioned mutant, he figured that either he wanted to stop Saeryn from claiming another life, or he wanted to show this replacement how to deal with her, either that or he didn't want his replacement to meet a messy end and have to wait on his break. But Leon didn't think about these for long, Saeryn was very angry, "I know what you have behind your back Leon, it's always the same, I'll go right down his throat and break his neck if you try and use that." Leon nodded, showing plenty of calm despite the situation, Leon's voice was also calm, almost like talking to an unruly child, "I know you know Saeryn, but I have it there to show that I'm not going to use it.. Samuel didn't mean to call you crazy." Leon flicked a small safety on the injector, just encase Saeryn wasn't going to cooperate, there were those days. Saeryn opened her mouth and her tongue slowly slithered out, Leon was close enough to get her in the neck, the best spot, and he was ready for any second for if Saeryn were to try something. Saeryn remember the first time she did this, used her tongue on a human... a normal, it was the Russians who first made her do it, and she actually enjoyed it. While Sam wouldn't be nearly as good as her first time, it never was. Leon's eyes moved from Saeryn to Sam, Leon looked from Saeryn to Sam with his glasses covered eyes, "You never meant to call her crazy, did you Samuel? This is all one big accident isn't it Saeryn."
