Everything that has a beginning has an End.

Junon base was made of solid bronze, shining brilliantly in the sun despite the number of years it had gone unwashed. The repairmen had left noticeable patches where Sapphire Weapon had attacked Junon those years ago when Trevlac was only a baby. It was hot here with the sun glaring off of the base and Trevlac wanted to get inside as soon as possible, but the onlookers in Junon town were staring at his paper-white skin and hot black coat as if he were something strange or alien. Trevlac tried to hide his face with his backpack and trooped toward the giant access gate escorted by seven really silent and pushy guards.

Possibly some of them believed he was under arrest because one man called out "I bet you deserve it!". Trevlac called upon his inner peace to keep from allowing his anger to control him. But how dare that man judge him?

Trevlac approached the gate with some apprehension and the soldiers abruptly turned and departed. Confused, Trevlac had raised a hand to knock on the eight-story metal door when he heard the sound of rusty gears creaking to live and the maw of the door opened from the middle, dropping into the ground and rising into the top of the base. The inside was not lit, so Trevlac (nervously) stepped inside and called out "Hello?" in a rather feeble voice. At once the lights flicked on and Trevlac shielded his sensetive blue eyes from the fluorescent beams.

Several other guards (these wearing red instead of blue) escorted him to another door where they, like their predacessors departed and Trevlac was once again left to walk through another, but albeit smaller, door by himself. He stepped into a hallway lines with men wearing blue fighting tunics and metal helmets carrying huge swords - as big as a house! They were cut off flat at the end as if the smith forgot how to edge a blade to a point. Three of them escorted him to yet another door (and Davis noticed they wore an emblem with a single silver star and the word SOLDIER on their arms). When they left, Trevlac called to them "Hey! What is this? Just get me to Rufus already..." but they were already gone.

A single SOLDIER wearing red and two gold stars on his arm silently mimed the recieving of proper access. Trevlac dug through his overstuffed backpack and withdrew a rather bent plastic security card. If he could see the SOLDIER's face, Trevlac was sure he would be looking upon the clean crease in the card wit disdain. But the guard laughed and beckoned him silently onward down another hallway and into a giant metal lift. He slid the bent access card into a small slot on the lift and punched in a few random-seeming numbers on the keypad and they were off. Only a few floors later and the lift stopped, the guard pushed him off but remained on and the doors closed on him.

"You rude son of Hade-..." Trevlac started, but no, he had to control his anger. He would soon be meeting the president and whatever he thought about someone, Trevlac was always polite. He casually walked along the honey-colored lights and glittering chandeliers into a wood-panneled room with a very long table. More red 2-star guards stood here and gestured to a seat that said "Ehrgeiz" next to one labeled "Wales" and to his left, "Pryce". Apparently others had been invited too. Immediately Trevlac started thinking of what Rufus would be up to sending off for several people to dine with him. Though the letter never actually said they'd be didning with him just that he invited Trevlac. Hmm...

But his thought process was interrupted by a bang, and the doors flew open, rattling after hitting the solid-wooden walls and the guards casually closed them. Someone stood just behind Trevlac.

Ordin pulled off his hat, swept his sweat-soaked, matted hair back and replaced it upon his head. With a swift movement, he tilted it to reflect the sun from his eyes. He had been traveling for about five hours now in the hot sun, which was beginning to sink into the ocean. The large form of Junon was slowly growing much larger, and within a few moments he had crossed the dingey thresh-hold into the old city below the base.

Two men dressed in blue. toting carbines at their sides stood near the town gates. As soon as he had entered, they stepped forward and asked his name. He responded with a grunt, all the while looking about for an escape route (in case this was all an elaborate trap.) With that, they requested he followed them into the base. President Rufus and other "guests" awaited him. He went along quietly, with one hand on his faithful Fenrir.

Eventually, he was brought to a large room with a very long table placed pain-stakingly in the center of the room. Trimming the edge of the table were many broad-backed chairs with bronze plaques listing the names of a person each. Ordin found his name on one chair, next to a man whose name was apparently "Ehrgeiz." He hesitated to sit.

"Standing might be considered bad manners here."
Trevlac whispered to the man in red. His first foolish impression of this man who stood near the "Wales" placemat was that he looked like a Halloween character. Soon the amusing image of the man became a frightening and intimidating image as he emitted an aura of calm and collected power.

"Sorry," Ordin retorted "But giving a damn about the customs here isn't my top priority." He shifted uncomfortably in place, peering around the room cautiously. His voice, while was meant to be hushed, burst out and seemed to reverberate throughout the entire being of the building.

"I have enemies. Many of them. And I'll be damned if I'm caught off guard here in this dingy place..." he mumbled nearly inaudibly. The room was full of a deafening silence, and even though Ehrgeiz and he were the only ones in the room, Ordin couldn't help but feel watched.

"I guess 'dingy' is a matter of opinion. Look around you! Hardwood walls, marble floors, crystal golden chandelliers."

Then again, Trevlac thought to himself, the materials used to build a place did not necessarily denote wealth. Spacing out just long enough to think this, Trevlac snapped back into reality and stood from his seat. Then he bowed and said:
"But I do see courtesy though. I am Trevlac Ehrgeiz, Instructor of Martial Arts in the northern mountains."

Then he rose and waited to see if the man would return the courtesy.

Ordin took note of Trevlac's bow and gave a simple nod in return. It wasn't his custom to be overly nice to people, especially those he only just met. "Ordin Wales." he said "Priest from... Edge. Bounty hunter."

Releasing his hand from his winchester, he began to think. Perhaps this really is a meeting with Rufus. Might as well take it as it comes. These sort of things work themselves out.

Finally, as though just noticing that there was a large chair directly infront of him, Ordin pulled it back and sat. It was made of a dark brown leather, comfortable, but still too rich for his tastes.

Returning to his seat and staring at the blank china set elaborately in front of them, Trev wondered aloud: "Hmm, so when will the others arrive?"

It seemed kind of inconvenient since everyone could arrive as much as a full day apart. Shouldn't we be waiting in some kind of private room for the night to make sure we get everyone? Trevlac made note of the crazy number of forks and spoons and tried to work out what the extra sizes were for.

Ordin shifted uncomfortably in his seat. It was starting to get boring. He came for.. who knows what the fuck he came for... but Rufus was obviously a terrible host. Pulling the letter back from an inside-coat pocket, Ordin opened it and read it over once more. No specific information. It simply requested he come to the Junon base for a banquet, and something about Rufus. His brain worked furiously, trying to figure it all out. He's never met Rufus, or any other members of Shin-Ra, so what was his need for Ordin? Perhaps this was just a highly elabrorate bounty. That must be it. Rufus was gathering mercenaries to send them after one of his enemies. No doubt someone who opposes the reconstruction of Shin-Ra. Perhaps one of the heroes of the Meteor Wars? He didn't completely agree with these means, but the business is his employer's alone.

Feeling a need to break the uncomfortable silence, Ordin finally said, "Do you know anything about this? What are we here for?"

Trevlac looked at Ordin shiftily. "Why would I know any more than you? If Rufus called us..."

But he was cut off by another door disguising itself as a normal part of the wall opening and a small man in a bowler hat followed by Rufus himself.

Rufus: "This is the Mayor of Midgar. He's agreed to accomany me to Junon and I consider it an honor since Midgar is still being reconstructed. Things must be very busy for him."

Mayor: "Yeah, thanks Rufus...anyway...as you may not know, my father was the Mayor of Midgar before Meteor hit. He died and I ran for office in the delapitated remains. I knew it would be a big job, but I never expected what happened. I'll have to repeat myself since only two have yet arrived, but no doubt they will be here at least by tomorrow.

Seven years ago while reconstructing the underground of Midgar we discovered remains of Omega Weapon and this was quite curious and Vincent Valentine, ex SinRa employee, was said to have destroyed it. This was not all, apparently Lucrecia Crecent, a scientist of ShinRa Inc, was infused with Jenova's cells. Seems irrellivant? Omega Weapon absorbed her for a time. Omega's cells were infused with Jenova's cells.

Significance? Jenova finally had the vessel she needed to return. And we have felt her wrath. She hides somewhere on Terra, but what is important is that she is slowly sucking up the lifestream. She's feasting on the spirits of the dead plants and people of this planet. Without the lifestream replenishing itself, we have nothing.

You don't need to know why we chose you and the others to come, but this is your mission: destroy Jenova. ShinRa's militia will be on call with these."
the mayor pointed to a rack of communicators.

Rufus: "The only people who have higher authority than you in this matter is myself, and my direct subordinates. You will have all of ShinRa's resources. A fleet of airships waits for you on the top landing site, three fleets of submarines in the port, and several caravans of land vehicles. Off you go."

Trevlac stared at him. "What about the banquet?"

Rufus laughed and stared at him. "That is to take place in two days when the others arrive. Your rooms are out this door and down the hall. Your room number is on the back of your security card. Good luck gentlemen."

Trevlac quickly whipped out his security card and examined it. The number "128" was printed in small numbers on the bottom. He guessed since that was the only number, it must be his room. He looked at Ordin incredulously.

"So we're suppose to save the world..."

Ordin sat still in his chair for a few moments, moving his crucifix around his fingers, after a few moments, he stood bolt upright, nearly knocking over his chair.

"You're bullshitting us." he spat, "How are we supposed to find Jenova? Where is she? How strong is she? You're leaving us in charge of half your army, so how are you sure you can trust us? What if Jenova is controlling me, and she knows all about your plan? I'm up for a challenge, but as far as I remember, she damn near destroyed the world TWICE."

Dimitrius had reached Junon, finally. It took him a few days time but he did it. After reaching the perimeter of the militaristic city, two ShinRa guards approached.

Smirking, Dimitrius asked, "So, am I in the right place?"

With not so much as a grunt, the ShinRa duo led him into Junon's infrastructure. After the long walk, Dimitrius thought the soldiers could've passed for deaf-mutes, until one of them irked out an almost inaudible 'We're here' as he pointed at two large double-doors.

Slowly reaching for the doors, he heard the backend of someone's conversation. "Damn near destroyed the world twice? Who in the hell... ?" mused Dimitrius as he pushed on the door, obviously interrupting the conversation.

To his right was none other than Rufus ShinRa, and what looked like some official of the city. To the left were two men, the one sitting wore all leather, and the one talking with Rufus wore red. "Interesting..." thought Dimitrius.

"Well, well, well... if it ain't Rufus ShinRa... Oh--hey, don't stop on my account." he said as he walked coolly to the table, putting his gunblade on it, quickly finding his labeled seat "Shrike" across from the man he assumed to be 'Ehrgeiz', since his seat was labelled so. "Continue..." he gestured to Rufus and the man in red as he slyly put his feet up on the table.

Rufus: "Well you're just in time to miss hearing that you'll be going after Jenova. Good luck. Your passcard has your room number. Follow these two." The president seemed unperturbed by Demitrius' rudeness.

Mayor: "Mr. Wales, she has indeed come close on two occasions, but if you remember that on one she was thwarted by a rag-tag group of adventurers much like yourself. Rufus and I also have other interests in the matter...but we will discuss those later."

Rufus: "As for Jenova's location, that's easy. Underground Midgar. Follow the screams. And she's powerful enough to have absorved the thing that nearly beat Chaos, and nearly beat a Sephiroth clone. As for trust, don't mistake me, I don't trust you with the blankets on your beds, which is why my guards will be monitoring everything you do and say with direct radio communication and audio and video streaming to my personal record archive wirelessly." Rufus smiled.

Trevlac understood them to be excused, and so he rose from his seat, bade Rufus good night, and waited for the other two men to go to the doors as well.

Dimitrius looked somewhat dumbfounded, but not for too long. He clicked in fast enough. "Jenova, eh?" he thought as he grabbed his blade, and rose. Curtly nodding to Rufus as he passed by him, his way of saying 'good-night'.

Once he reached the double doors, he looked over the leather-clad Ehrgeiz. " Well, just peachy, huh?... Seems we'll be gettin' to know eachother. Name's Dimitrius, you?" he spoke as he extended his hand.

Ordin smirked, and looked down to the table and his bleached knuckles. 'Simply fuckin' amazing,' he thought to himself, 'simply fuckin' amazing.' Removing has hands from the table, he made for the door without another word. He better be paid well.

Trevlac stared at the man's hand. This was obviously some sort of social gesture where the man was from, but he had never seen it in the Icicle area. Trevlac extended his left hand (his right being on his backpack) and made a small bow (feeling like a robot).

"Trevlac Ehrgeiz at your service." And then he rose to beckon Ordin towards them.

"I think the beds are this way..." he said pointing down the left path out the doors. They were clearly marked 117, 119, 121, all on one side and Trevlac supposed the evens were on the reverse.

Oddly looking at the one named Trevlac, Dimitrius shrugged, withdrew his hand and followed. As he walked he took out his keycard, reading 131 on the back.

Dimitrius began to think, "Guess I'll need the rest after that god-forsaken trek here... Damn, was lookin' forward to that banquet too... Wait, what the--" slowly but surely, Dimitrius noticed that no banquet had taken place. He supposed they had to wait till everyone was there.

Shrugging, Dimitrius muttered a quiet "Feh..." and continued walking.

Not looking at his security card until now, Ordin reached around to his back pocket and drew the card out with a snap. It was in perfect condition and gleamed in the flourescent lights. It stated his room was 127. Hopefully he'd have a comfortable stay here. He didn't bring anything, seeing as he didn't own anything. That is, except Fenrir.

Trevlac gave them both a bow and worked his way downt he left hall to 128 and slipped his card in the hole. A green light appeared and he marched inside. The lights automaticaly came on to reveal an illustrious room decorated with all the creature comforts including a gas-log fireplace and a real running waterfall that ran under a glass tunnel that made up part of the floor.

An ornately decorated oriental rug was on the floor and lavish paintings adorned the walls. Trevlac could see why he wouldn't trust them with the blankets. They were also ornately decorated with red silk and gold hems.

Trevlac stifled a yawn and he pulled off all his clothes into bareness and sank onto the bed, not covering up so that he could relish in the comfortable 68 degree coolness of the room and the rushing waterfall. He fell asleep almost instantly not noticing he left the door unlocked.

When Ordin found his room, he slipped his key through the sensor and was permitted entrance. At once he realized that the room was far too decorative. The walls, floor, and ceiling were a glaring white, which blinded him momentarily, until he found the light switch. A small table stood near the door with a white-and-blue vase decorated with scenes of a mountain and a flaming ball of some sort.

Not paying any attention to the other over-lavishly decorations that spattered the room, he removed his leather coat and hat and placed them on an ornate coatrack. That is when he noticed a fine reading table on the nearby wall. A shelf that sat above it was crammed with many ancient books. Not feeling in the least bit tired, he pulled back the chair (which made an obnoxious scraping noise) and sat.

EDIT (TREVLAC): Ordin surreptitiously pulls off "Firearms and Targets". After reading for nearly two hours he takes out his gun and tries a few of the tricks without bullets. Seems to work too. [Ordin has gained the Red Mage ability: Sharpshooter!"]

Watching the retreating form of Trevlac vanish within the confines of his room, he looked at the man beside him only to find he had already headed off. Taking his cue, he set off to find his room, noting the ominous feeling he kept getting throughout the entirety of his being here. "Who knows?... Jenova? Saving the world? I mean, she's just another monster... Right?" Dimitrius mused.

Quickly enough, he found his room. Slipping the keycard in and out, opening it, he unstrapped his blade, swiftly setting it beside the bed. He looked around the room, not taking too much time to note the surroundings, aside from the fireplace across his bed. Locking the door, he undressed, and lay down. Silently musing on the days events until he fell into a deep slumber.
