Ramiel sighed and tugged Leithry towards the back of the house. She had seemed like she had been about to cry seconds before and he hoped she would be able to hold it together for the week or so they'd be in each others company. Or at least until they were out of harms way. He hated it when women cried, he never knew what to do with them. He had also hated watching leithry and her sister seperate, Reigan was a brat, they'd have a better chance of escaping without her. A good part of him hoped that Reigan wouldn't make it off the estate, it would take time but he was sure Leithry would get over it eventually if Reigan died. "We must move quickly. Stay focused on the here and now, I'm...sure your sister will be just...fine." he said, not even really pausing to look back at her. He couldn't have her getting distracted by thoughts of her sister and running into a trap.

Grumbling to himself he pulled Leithry to the library, he knew there was a passage way in the rather large room somewhere, he recalled Lord Belwen showing it off to him one afternoon, many years ago. He just hoped he'd be able to find it again. "Drat, where is that damned passageway?" He muttered to himself. At least the room was enclosed, he'd hear anyone coming before they even got there. "Do you know where it is?" He asked, scanning the room.

Making sure the doors were closed he frowned and quickly paced the whole of the room. He didn't see any indicators of a passageway, but he knew one was there. With a sigh he looked back at leithry, her father MUST have told her how to get out of the house in case of an emergency. If she didn't know they'd have to start pulling books off the shelves one by one and that would take far to long. "Any ideas??"

My god, he hates Reigan...*shrugs* That shouldn't make me laugh but it does. At least now he's distracted from his hatred of Serenity... rolleyes.gif

Liethry allowed Ramiel to lead her down the many corridors of her home, her thoughts consumed by concern for her sister and grief over her parents' deaths. She still couldn't fully accept that she would never again see her father's smile or hear her mother's voice, though the pain she'd felt upon hearing their fate had left her heart aching.
'Why did it have to be this way..?' she asked herself, hoping that she might find an answer hidden somewhere within the muddled chaos that had descended upon her life. Unfortunately, her only reply was Ramiel's attempt to comfort her, which, admittedly, did little to quiet her distress.

Still, Lord Ramiel was counting on her to be strong...as were her sister and Gideon. She had to make it off the estate and meet them, and that meant letting go of her sadness long enough to ensure her survival. As they entered the library, Liethry made a final effort to steel herself against the hurt in her heart before turning to Ramiel and nodding slowly.
"Yes...follow me. We should move quickly, before they catch up to us." Moving swiftly for the middle of the rows of bookshelves, Liethry turned down the aisle titled "Authors Ma-Pe", stopping in front of a shelf three stacks down. Sandwiched between two rows of books was a bronze statue, the bust of a famous novelist from the mid-third century. Reaching gingerly into the statue's ear, Liethry fumbled momentarily for a switch, her fingers finding the small button and pressing it lightly. A few paces away, the floor slid back to reveal a staircase descending down into a torchlit path.

Casting her eyes back to Ramiel waiting nearby, Liethry gave him a wry smile. "Let's go."

Ramiel nodded and looked down the corridor. "Good. Thank you." He said, moving in front of her and grabbing a torch at the door. He wasn't sure how long the corridor was, but they sure as hell were going to find out. With any luck it would take them through a good portion of the forrest. "Are you ready to go?" Asking more out of formaiity then anything else. They had to go, she didn't have a choice at this point.

He turned when he heard a bit of clamoring behind the door "Indeed, lets go." He said, as he pulled Leithry into the secret passageway, quickly sealing it shut behind her. With a sigh he started out, making sure she was still behind him. With his free hand on the hilt of his sword he made his way forward. He quickly supressed a slight smile, he would be lying if he said he wasn't looking forward to killing a few assassins. It wasn't often they came to him, usually he had to find them on his own. "Stick close to me once we get to the end, and I promise you, you'll be fine." He said, knowing he wouldn't have to worry to much. He was rather proficient when it came to killing. Unfortunatly he couldn't say the same for the company Reigan was in, but he also didn't care much. "All you have to do is follow me, and keep moving...it'll be ok."
