.:Weather:.

It is winter now. The snows have spread from the tops of the mountains to the Valley floor, and through all four packlands, the thickest in Aeroica. Ellion and Kaluu also have fair amounts, and Zythari has only a faint dusting in the burnlands and the warren, with little to any in the badlands and Altis Vandari. Take special care when treading on the frozen surfaces of lakes and streams, for there is a danger of falling through the ice. Also, the herds have moved to the Wintering grounds in Andante.

.:Disasters:.

None Currently

.:Prey:.

Slightly scarce, most small mammals are in hibernation and the deer and elk have moved to the wintering grounds.

.:Welcome to FH!:. December 25th Merry Christmas (or –insert holiday choice here-) I’ve been working really hard to get all the kinks worked out of things, so things should be working more smoothly now.

We really need members to keep this place afloat, because, for all the work that we do as admins, it’s really the members that make the community!

Let it be known that out of character Apollo and I are here to help, no matter what seems to be going on IC between the packs.

Coming soon is a very shiny and nice awards system, and provided we can get the membership to pull it off, a new (and very, very secret) sub-plot. Hooray!

November 18thFH is now open!

FH is a brand-new, literate, realistic roleplaying community with a plot centered around wolves and other creatures. We have an extensive history located in the plot section. Help us build an awesome, active community by becoming apart of FH today!

Terminus Taedium
Carved into the face of a butte is a sansdtone bowl. This is the home for the Aeroica pack. The large sand stone depression is riddled with caves created by the springs that run through the area. Small waterfalls and streams dance down and pool along the terraced sides of the bowl, though many of the caves are dry and suitable for denning. An opening on the eastern side of the bowl allows the water to escape, falling nearly 70 feet until in winds away to the east.

Ularis Gorge
A river springs from the root of the mountain here, creating a breathtaking display of rapids as it makes it’s way through the territory. Though it is quite calm in some places, it is wide and deep enough to drag you off of your feet, should you loose you step, the current might overtake you. In other places it is whitewater and extremely dangerous. Various fallen logs and boulders afford wolves ways to span the gorge, but watch you step, and try not to let the pups stray to closely.

Katris Escalis
These are the Highlands of the Region, and make up most of Aeroica’s Territory. The mountain here is the highest part of the region, rugged and wild. Its slopes are dotted with pine and, lower, deciduous and fern.

Dechutes Wilderness
This area makes up most of the highlands territory and contains alpine valleys and numerous small lakes. It is a vast area and very rugged, so very few know all of its secrets. Most of the trees here are coniferous, though in several places the Deschutes is above the tree line all together

On the eastern Flank of Katris Escalis is a glacier – it has been here for thousands of years and will be for thousands more. From here you are awarded a spectacular view of the entire region, all the way to the sea. Use caution if you decide to step out onto the ice, though – as it gradually melts, many hidden fissures and crevices have formed.

Stone Circle
In the rolling hills of the Kaluu territory grows a thick stand of willow, cut through by a wandering stream. This area lies low and is lush. There are many good denning spots tucked within the roots of the giant willows. Atop a hill here stands a mysterious formation – the stone circle. Some say it occurred naturally, others say it was by the hand of mysterious gods. Either way, it hold special significance to the Kaluu pack, and it is also where they hold their meetings.

Ularis Descant
The Ularis river begins to slow it's pace here, as it leaves the highlands and begins to curve through the hills of the Kaluu pack. It is wide, deep, and calm here, peacefully curving across the landscape. The shores here are gradual and sandy, interspersed with towering oak trees. It is a good place to try and catch a fish or cool off in the summer. Good swimmers will find it easy to cross here, though it is quite wide.

Rosa Meadows
The meadows are named for their odd, reddish coloured grasses. The area is very peaceful and is a good place for pups to play and adults to relax. During the spring and summer, many types of wildflowers can be seen, and in the autumn, small maples are ablaze with colour. Even in the winter, the place remains colorful, with heather and holly bushes in the undergrowth.

Kaltoya Wade
This lake is formed by a small stream the branches off from the Ularis river. Don’t let the name fool you- though the banks are wide and there are shallows, the center of the lake is very deep – nearly 2,000 feet. This is a good place to relax or cool off during the summer, and the mirror like surface is beautiful at sunset of under a sky full of stars.

Estaris Hollow
Deep within the woods of the Ellion pack is a hollow. It is well hidden from the eyes of any who are unwanted. The tree’s branches grow thickly, reaching up toward the sky and choking out sunlight. In this hollow are a series of slate rock formations, flat and terraced on different levels. This is where Ellion pack may choose to hold it’s meetings.

Slatewater
After it’s descent from the Aeroica Highlands, Ularis river winds it’s way slowly across the flatlands of Ellion. The river bed here is littered with slate rock from the mountains, hence it’s name. Reeds and water plants grow thickly on it’s banks, as well as cattails. There are few trees along the banks, though, instead it is choked with brush. As it winds it’s way through the forest, however, the banks thing out and are rplaced with trees fanning overhead. The banks here are often dotted with wildflower.

Mist Valley
This Valley is blanketed in mist at all times, lending it and air of mystery and intrigue. Various paths criss-cross, leading who knows where. The valley is vast, and Most of Ellion’s Territory is found here, beneath the blanket of concealment. Perhaps this is why they are so secretive. If not, the area is surely fitting, at any rate.

The Blackwoods
The trees here are tall and dense, and sunlight almost never reaches the floor, hence the name. The ground is lushly covered with fern, and fallen old growth logs and made place for moss and various other forms of plant life to take hold. The land is not nearly as sinister as the name implies, though some say they hear strange noises at night…

The Warren
In the sandstone canyons of the Zythari lands are a network of passages and slot canyons known as The Warren. The Warren is extensive and holds many small, secluded places. There are several areas which would make good dens, as well as more open locations which the pack may use to hold meetings. Be careful, however, as know living wolf knows all the secrets of the warren. It would be easy for a pup to get lost, and flash floods may prove dangerous.

Kanskiri Delta
The lands are drier here, and the Ularis river speads out to form a vast Delta. This is a wintering ground for many types of prey and the most fertile ground in the region, making it a good place to look for herbs. The land here seems to stretch out beyond where the eye can see, the horizon blending into the sky.

The Burnlands
A vast forest once grew here, running the border between Zythari and the other packs for miles and creating a natural defense. Then a freak lightening storm set it ablaze. The flames were visible from as far away as Terminus Taedium and the Slatewater. Since then, the land lie empty and scarred. Few wander here, unless it is to think. Smoke still seems to linger in the air, though it is more likely due to the fog that blankets the low-lying area. Still, though, it affords an eerie atmosphere, and is hardly a very pleasant place to tread. That said, it does make the Zythari lands very defensible, as few are comfortable crossing this area.

Niilhys Badlands
This vast area of desert stretches away to the west across the Zythari lands. Water is scarce and there are often snakes and other types of danger. Still, the area is not completely arid, and a kind of rugged beauty clings to it, especially in the spring of after rains.

Altis Vandari
This vast dry lakebed may once have been rivaled only by the Kaltoya wade – now, however it is dry, its bottom a pattern of cracks from long ago water. Scattered around it, though are several small streams and springs, affording solace to those who need it.

Wintering Grounds
This is where most of the large herds (elk, deer, and caribou) move to in the winter, to escape the harsh mountain climate. All four packs need to hunt here in order to survive through the winter, though be careful who you run into – something bad might happen if two hunting parties were to encounter one another. In the summer, the land is covered with long grass and various stands of elm, and is still frequented by a few deer. There are also many small rodents and mammals to be found if you nose around enough in the brush.

The Star Fields
This series of meadows and hills sit in the center of the region, touched upon by all four packs. This place is extremely peaceful, and it is here that one can best study the stars and the Aurora. It is said that once, during a meteor shower, one landed here – and, indeed, a large and ancient stone sits in the center of the fields, surrounded by what may or may not be the remains of a crater. This site holds significance to all four packs, except possibly Zythari, and none should taint the ground here by spilling blood. It is the safest place to meet with members of other packs.

Nelendiel Forest
This vast forest stretchs way to the east. Great pines and sitka spruces grow here. There are also numerous vocanic caves in the area. Wolves, beware, for Lynx and other large animals may make their homes here.

Great Western Vale
This great valley, almost as vast as the valley of Ellion, Is located west of Kalluu and Aeroica's lands, though it can be reached without going through them if you truly wish to travel that far around. The slopes of the valley are steep and clothed in fern and various deciduos trees. This is also a home for many animals besides wolves.
