Okay, so it is known that generations 1 and 3 are set about the same time, it is also known that generations 2 and 4 are set at the same time.

This may indicate that Gold and Silver remakes are definitely heading our way, it follows logic after all.

Mechanics have also been found in Diamond & Pearl which may suggest future trading compatibility with Gold & Silver remakes.

Also, Jasmine of Olivine city (Johto) appears in D & P to apparently train to make herself stronger, this has made me wonder if she is the new Johto champion in the same way that Wallace replaced Steven in Emerald.
This will also mean that a new Olivine gym leader is required.

There are many references to Johto throughout the game, so like Kanto was mentioned a few times in Ruby & Sapphire, I am now more certain than ever before that Gold & Silver remakes are coming.

And if things are following the same path as the generation 1 and 3 crossover, then we should be hearing the first official news before February 2008 and the games should be released in Japan mid-late 2008, USA late 2008 to early 2009 and Europe mid 2009, that is unless Pokemon start speeding up releases (my guesses are based on the way they are currently released). Who knows, Nintendo may have started already and might just be keeping it secret, which would mean even earlier release dates.
