~The Folded~
|GUY JOSIAH PARNELL|MALE|THIRTY|HUMAN| ~The World Left Behind~Where do you come from? Coronado
Character’s Role: Guy grew up in a home where there was always just enough to eat, but not a whole lot in the way of extra goods. He used his skills and talent to pull himself up till he eventually reached middle class, mostly through work as a both a musician and a bounty hunter. As the latter, he had permission to move between towns and dispense justice as he saw fit. Other than that, he lived comfortably, and that was that.

Appearance: Guy realizes that people have a tendency to judge based on appearance, so, despite what it may look like, he actually spends a fair amount of time on his dress and hair. Meaning that Guy knows what to wear and when to wear it. That being said, he's not above dressing a certain way to garner a certain reaction... much like most people.
Most commonly, Guy will be seen in jeans and a button up shirt, likely flannel and likely warn. He never did quite adapt to modern dress, seeing something a little wrong in it (though he does happen to enjoy the amount of skin that women are allowed to show now). He carries himself well though, and always seems to walk tall. There's a confidence about him that comes from being outside the law for several years of his life, not to mention carrying a gun and knowing how to use it.
Personality: Guy spent several years rounding up criminals and bringing them to justice, no matter the consequences. That attitude didn't leave him, even though he has acclimated more or less to Folder's Point now. He still has a feeling that things should be done instead of talked about, and he will go against law and order if he believes there's greater good to be had in going a different route. However, he has recently decided that he wants to relax and "not be as involved," though it's unlikely that this is going to stick.
Guy also happens to enjoy some of the briefer things in life. He enjoys beautiful women, and has no problems with letting them know. As mentioned earlier, the changes in fashion have met with his approval... on the women's end. For some reason though, he's still stuck in the cowboy mentality, which means talking with your fists to settle a fight, and using your words and gentlemanly ways around a woman. It also means that he likes to spend money on gambling: a nearly constant struggle, since he's also trying to "save up for a rainy day."
In other words, he's a mess of contradictions, much like most people.
Strengths:- excellent shot
- exudes confidence
- gentleman to women.
- above average fighter
- quick on his feet
Weaknesses:- will break laws.
- doesn't take "no" well
- womanizer
- enjoys gambling more than most
- puts action above thought.
History: As mentioned earlier, Guy was born to a family with bread on the table, but no toys in the chest. He learned to make due with what he had, which also meant learning to shoot as soon as he could hold up a gun. He and his siblings all hunted, fished, and generally did what it took to help out around the house. Eventually, each went on to make something of themselves, even, oddly enough, one of Guy's sisters.
Guy himself originally wanted to be a musician. He'd saved up and purchased a guitar, which he happened to have a knack for playing. However, Fate intervened one day, and Guy found himself caught up in a mess of trouble. He managed to outwit and out shoot those who'd dragged him along, and when he was given the reward, Guy knew what he had to do.
So Guy spent the better part of a decade and a half riding around and catching bad guys. He did fair enough, though he was by no means perfect. In fact, rumor had it that he took bribes from some, and "favors" from others, rumors that Guy himself never bothered to confirm or deny. Perhaps that was part of the reason whey he wound up in Folder's Point, for, you see, he'd followed a certain female outlaw for some time, till they both wound up mysteriously vanishing. They wound up in different places though, and Guy tried to actually assimilate, as opposed to causing a ruckus. Since he learned he could start over, he's been trying to do so, living by his guitar instead of his gun.
The reflexes are there though, and he's got a feeling that things aren't going to be as peaceful as he'd like.
Unique Powers/Abilities: Nothing more than the average human, except perhaps a slightly better shot and a lot better tolerance for alcohol.
~Necessary Details~Other: Guy actually folded over
with his horse, whom he keeps and rides whenever he feels like it.
Rp Sample: "All this about a rock?" muttered Guy. He pushed up the brim of his hat, staring across the rim of his glass at the display that his POD had put up for him. While Guy didn't particularly have a knack for tech, or a yearning to uncover anything, he still knew that you should use a tool when it presented itself. So he'd convinced someone to show him how to use the POD, and he'd never regretted it.
Muttering, Guy leaned forward, taking another sip of the drink and wincing. Lukewarm. He'd let it set too long. Sighing, he rubbed at his face and looked at the screen. He really should volunteer. Chances were that Cerberus could use an extra hand, and he was probably anxious. Rumor had it that the Knights were falling apart, and they weren't exactly making a good showing. Extra hands would be helpful.
But Guy had left that life behind him. He finished off the glass, punched in the amount to transfer, and turned to leave. As he was nearing the door, he heard something behind him, something fairly familiar to the Puking Goat: the sounds of a fight. Guy stopped, turning his head slightly, just looking. Two people were arguing, fighting about something. It looked like one of them was a woman, and one wasn't. That was all it took for Guy. Without thinking twice about it, he was turning and storming toward the fight, already rolling up his sleeves and cursing up a storm.
