I. Town History
The Point.
No one is certain when it started happening, but it did. Dimensions started folding in on themselves, crossing unsuspecting people into our world, into our dimension, the world known as Earth. These diverse people would come in all shapes, sizes, colors, smells, and creeds, from worlds that humanity couldn't even imagine. And they would all arrive here.
The Point.
Folder's Point was founded several hundred years ago by a group dedicated to providing those that found themselves in this dimension with a home. Those that had been Folded and a group of dedicated Earthlings banded together to create this small town. They built it from the ground up, established the rules and set the foundations for a thriving community. No one knows exactly when Folder's Point became a full fledged town. But it has become the most diverse community to ever have existed.

III. Town Laws
Article A
Article A, section I - follow all rules of the governing body of the nation in which Folder's Point exists.
Article A, section II - except for when such rules directly contradict with rulings passed down by those of Folder's Point.
Article B
Article B, section I - contact with the outside world shall be strictly regulated by those of the Offices of Regulation and Registration. All contact should be funneled through proper channels and paperwork filled out as set to official standards and guidelines.
Article B, section II - any unauthorized contact will be dealt with harshly; punishment is up to the decision of the Offices of Regulation and Registration and the governing bodies of Folder's Point.
Article B, section III - attempted contact with other dimensions is strongly discouraged and not allowed with express permission and appropriate forms.
Article C
Article C, section I - all citizens will register with the Offices of Regulation and Registration upon arrival to Earth Prime. They will receive (1) Guidebook for the Folded as well as any and all personal effects are required for transition.
Article C, section II - your old life is to be respected, but due to constrains on this world, you are not entitled to the same rulings, positions and regulation you received back on your home dimension. The Offices of Regulation and Registration will not restore lost thrones, powers, armies, et al, nor will they be responsible for any crimes you have committed in the past.
Article C, section II, subsection i - the governing bodies are not responsible for personal reactions to old dimension relations. However, we advocate a new life at the Point, and strongly recommend all residents keep this in mind.
Article D
Article D, section I - all citizens under the age of eighteen or the equivalent level of maturity shall enroll in the appropriate schooling
Article D, section I, subsection i - All citizens between the ages of thirteen (13; puberty) and eighteen (18; adulthood) shall be enrolled at Vitas High School.
Article D, section I, subsection ii - Folder's University will provide all necessary secondary education required for the Folded. Seeking education outside of Folder's Point is strongly discouraged.
Article D, section II - all new arrivals must undergo a mandatory education seminar on Earth cultures and adaptation. They are also to be provided lodgings with an established family and/or in the provided apartments. All citizens are to contribute positively to Folder's Point in some method.
Article E
Article E, section I - the Knights of the Fold, a.k.a. the Knights Kevlar are the enforcers of the law, as instructed and interpreted by the Offices of Regulation and Registration.
Article F
Article F, section I - residents are not allowed to attempt to rip holes in the fabric of the dimensions.
Article F, section I, subsection i - this includes holes of any size, shape, or depth. It also includes "accidentally" attempting to create holes or "asking someone else" to create one for you.
Article F, section I, subsection ii - repeated offenses of Article F, section I, subsection i will be dealt with strongly.

IV. Important Locales
The Offices of Regulation and Registration
The Offices of Regulation and Registration, more popularly known as the Offices of R&R, predate the existence of Folder's Point itself. These offices are house in an impressive, one story building located just within the limits of downtown Founder's Point. The most advanced in trans-dimensional technologies are employed to insure maximum security, utility, and aesthetics.
Over two hundred offices exist within the walls of the compound, and many more exist in pocket dimensions and compressed spaces, produced thanks to the more magically inclined workers at the Offices of R&R. The offices serve as the primary workstations for those employees busy working to insure that everyone assimilates to the best of their ability, and that everyone works well within the guidelines of the articles.
the Offices of R&R also serve as the Headquarters for the Knights of the Fold, more popular known as the Knights Kevlar (KK). The KK was founded shortly after the Offices of R&R and are charged with dealing with hostile Folded as well as finding Transients.
This sprawling complex is the reason why the town exists; just ask anyone who works there.
Vitas High School
Vitas works to provide the perfect Earth education experience. As such, the school has been constructed to closely model your average secondary school. Standard linoleum flooring, lockers everywhere, coatrooms, restrooms, etc. The school itself is of moderate size and generally boasts over a hundred students, give or take.
Magic and technology also work side by side at the school, to offer a Folded education as well. Classes on the different races as well as inter-species relations are offered and generally highly attended. The fully integrated curriculum prepares its students for the future they so richly deserve.
*Note: the entire school has been shielded for defensive purposes. the building itself will not be easily harmed by forces. Additionally, all faculty have been trained in dealing with the student body, and several security personnel are on standby, including at least one member of the KK.
Folder's University
Folder's University has been providing an extensive liberal education to the residents of Folder's Point for generations. The school grounds itself are extensive and representative of the mixed cultures that coexist within Folder's Point. the buildings represent architecture from across the dimensions, brought to life from the brilliant minds of the residents. Additionally, an impressive gardens exists within grounds, leading into the City Park of Folder's Point. These gardens boast flora ranging from the most beautiful of roses to the rare lithos flower of lifegiving.
The diverse faculty are available to handle all student needs. Small classes insure hands on, personal instruction and an education that rivals that of the greatest universities in the universe. The staff and faculty promise an incomparable educational experience in a wide array of degrees. scholarships are provided for students that cannot afford funding, and all graduates of Vitas High can expect half tuition.
The school also boasts the largest library of magical texts and technological resources available in this dimension or any other. Books considered long lost have a tendency to arrive within those walls. Furthermore, a dedicated team of researchers are always available for questioning and aid.

The Castle
The very mighty Castle isn't what most would imagine. This is the sub-division of the main offices, almost completely disconnected from the primary offices. Technically still within the complex though. Taking the left hallway, you'll find yourself entering another building. One much less organized, full of people wearing uniforms and badges. This is where the knights are found.
The Castle counts with training rooms, for both weapons and body. Trying to keep their knights in shape is an important thing for the Castle, and so they provide them with the necessary equipment. The knights risk their lives to protect the citizens of Folder's Point, always showing excellent behavior no matter what.
Regular citizens don't visit the quarters unless they have a felony to report. Even then, the place is usually deserted from civilians and you would need an appointment to enter the place. Unless you have friends in high places, the inner offices are forbidden to you.

V. Essential technologies
The MTD
The MTD (Multi-dimensional translation device) is a basic translating device given to all Folded once they've arrived for registration at the Offices of Registration and Regulation. These devices have been created for the benefit of all Folded, and show a remarkable adaptation of advanced technologies in our melded Earth today.
The MTD is a simple device in appearance, nothing more than a simple piece of dura-plastic, a unique hybrid product that has proven to be remarkably resilient. This device is placed within the ear of the Folded, to best serve its intended purpose. Thus far it has been proven that it cannot suffer mechanical or technological failings, nor is it susceptible to electromagnetic pulses (EMPs). furthermore, it has proven waterproof and shatter resistant.
What the MTD does is read the aural waves produced by various individuals. It then matches those aural waves to various files that exist within a constantly growing database. It then matches those files to languages already programmed in, via registration, or finds languages that are close enough. The MTD determines what is being said, then reroutes the language in the language of the user. This means that such intricacies such idioms and expressions can often be lost, and that some advanced or primitive languages will have extreme problems with translating. for example, if your language has no word to describe a "laser" because such a thing doesn't exist, then the translator has to give you as close an approximation as it can manage.
As of yet, no language has proven to be too complex or too simple to not be translated, though various languages can take longer or shorter for the listener, depending. Please see language notes in world descriptions if there is any confusion.
The PODs
Several individuals are granted PODs (personal organization devices) upon their registration. These devices are especially utilized by researchers, bureaucrats, and Knights for their various activities. to some extent, they function much like the current Earth Prime technology known as the "I-Phone." The basic POD stores immense streams of data that can be accessed by the user, mostly consisting of files relevant for that user's profession. Files and information are kept under careful consideration, and only certain privileged people are allowed access.
Further functions of the POD include basic communicator, such as a cellphone or walkie talkie might provide; basic notepad; calender; and organizer. It lives very much up to its name, providing the basic functions necessary for organization.
Naturally, some citizens have taken it upon themselves to fiddle with their own devices. The producers of the POD are not responsible for any damage or problems that may result from such alterations.

VI. Notable PersonsWhile we treat everyone at Folder's Point with equality, there are some individuals that, for whatever reason, are more known among the population. We offer information on these persons here, in hopes that this will aid our Transients in their adaptation. Mayor, N/A - the mayor and lifelong resident of Folder's Point. Open.Victor Lyrosia, 29, Durian - the mayor's aide, who handles most of the day to day rulings and dealings at Folder's Point. He naturally comes to the aid of the benevolent mayor whenever needed, though some have commented on his rather unscrupulous method of doing so. NPCCerberus, 449, Heidenlothian - the brash and gruff Commander of the Knights. Cerebus is known for his no-nonsense decision making tactics and his hands-on style of leadership. Lux, 40s, Arian - the charismatic, "sneaky/oily/slimy" politician and businessman. Apparently newly Folded into Folder's Point, Lux has been attempting to gather support behind his various business ventures. However, those of Aria have heard of his reputation as a crime boss... something which was never proven, of course. He's gathered a bit of a mixed reputation in his already short time at Folder's Point, and who knows what lies ahead? Faye Winchester 40's, Aria - The woman that knows it all. Faye is the main reporter of the Conglomerate, suing any means she has to come up with a good story, even if it means throwing dirt to those who don't deserve it. Faye's words are almost the law with the weaker minds of Folder's Point, so easily manipulated with a few fancy words. VII. Occupations and RolesWith such a diverse population here at Folder's Point,we offer a plethora of occupations. Listed here are just a handful of our wonderful job offerings, along with some of the persons who happen to be employed in that field. We encourage all members of Folder's Point to contribute to society. GovernmentMayor-OPEN- -As to be expected, the mayor of Folder's Point holds a great deal of responsibility. In addition to standard mayoral duties, our mayor also must deal with interdimensional/intercultural issues, public relations between Folder's Point and the rest of the world, and many other unique problems. It is even said that the mayor holds a great many secrets, secrets that the average citizen isn't allowed to know. That's utter nonsense, of course. Mayor's Aide:-Victor Lyrosia(NPC)- -If you think the mayor's busy, you should see how active the Mayor's Aide(s) is/are. This job requires a great deal of training, not to mention patience, understanding, and just plain hard work. Naturally they are to be respected at all costs. As for what the mayor lets them in on, well, that's his decision, isn't it? The Offices of Registration and RegulationHead Bureaucrat-OPEN- -The Head Bureaucrat of the Offices of R&R must run the offices as smoothly as possible. It is their job to regulate the Offices, hire staff, and insure that everything is in its place. Officially, they have as much power as the Commander of the Knights. Unofficially, their power seems to be much, much greater. Bureaucrat/Diplomat-UNLIMITED- -Bureaucrats must regulate and register all Folded, as is to be expected. They officially process any and all paperwork for Folder's Point, administering basic necessities. It is the bureaucrats that guide the Folded through their early time at Folder's Point. All bureaucrats are expected to serve as Diplomats to the Folded at some point in their career. Many seem to prefer this over regular work. All bureaucrats must undergo training, and having a background helps immensely. The Knights of the FoldCommander-Cerberus- -The Commander of the Knights of the Fold is one of the most respected members of all the Point, nearly equal to the mayor and certainly equal to the Head Bureaucrat. The Commander must run the Knights in an orderly, organized, intensive fashion. They have to deal with the relations of all those under their command, as well as being willing to lead the people if any crisis should occur. Knights-UNLIMITED- -The Knights function as a police cum military force for Folder's Point. It is there job to deal with disturbances among the populace. Furthermore, they are generally the first people to find and deal with newly Folded, often accompanied by Diplomats. All Knights undergo special training, as mentioned previously, and are granted a firearm as their personal weapon. Furthermore, all Knights must be accompanied by a Partner for all official business. Rosie's DinerOwner-OPEN- -Not necessarily named Rosie, the owner of Rosie's Diner is expected to run the Diner. in that function, they would do what you basically expect a diner owner to do. However, the more hidden function of Rosie's is as one of the town's three "Sanctuaries." Rosie's provides sanctuary for the Good and Innocent who Fold over, aiding them in times of strife and offering them solace. The Owner serves as a reminder of that. (currently open; PM Will account if interested) Staff -UNLIMITED- -basic service position; whatever they know of Rosie's true nature is up to the Owner. Includes waitresses, cooks, bus boys, and all your basic Cafe staff. YMCADirector -OPEN- -the Director of the YMCA is responsible for all activities, be they community based or facility based. Furthermore, the Director is responsible for hiring staff as well as maintaining quality. The more hidden function is, of course, as one of the three "Sanctuaries." The YMCA provides sanctuary for the morally ambiguous, those that fall outside the normal boundaries of good and evil. They will offer solace and good will to all who need it. The Director serves as a reminder of that. Staff -UNLIMITED- -includes a variety of positions: trainers, counselors, coaches, clerks, etc. The Puking Goat"The Man" -OPEN- -the mysterious person who owns and operates the Puking Goat. Must do everything to keep a bar in order, obviously, must like the two executive positions above. The Puking Goat also serves as the "official Sanctuary" of those that are black, immoral, or just plain evil. They offer solace and support of a sort to those. "The Man" makes certain they know who to thank in the end. Open Staff -UNLIMITED- -basic bartending staff. Includes: barmaids, bartenders, bouncers, and a cook. EducationPresident of the College/Principal of the High School-OPEN- -it's highly believed that these are, in fact, the same person, though there's no evidence of this. As usual, the position sounds relatively standard, but nothing in Folder's Point is ever standard. The President and/or Principal are privy to all the secrets that exist within the walls of Academia, not to mention having the capability of swaying large amounts of researchers and/or students. Professors and Teachers -UNLIMITED- -those that educate, poor souls. College Students -UNLIMITED- -those that learn at the University, poor souls. High School Students -UNLIMITED- -those that learn at the High School Health and Medicine -UNLIMITED- Doctors/Nurses-basically the poor person/persons who are responsible for tending to the sick and wounded at the Point. There is a medical facility, a beyond top of the line medical facility available at the Point and it is well staffed by a highly skilled team of expert physicians and nurses. We specifically have a handful of private practices as well, and all healers are encouraged to work their magic at Folder's Point Private Businesses-UNLIMITED--Nothing's stopping people from owning and operating their own business within city limits. Folder's Point encourages all residents to live their dream within the city limits. Several residents have opened up various businesses, and we hope they succeed. - Magic Man - Magic Store
