it was a novel first then an anime, ive also seen the first chapter of the manga, and sad to say its nowhere near as good as the original novel and its anime counterpart.. the manga loses this time around.

as it goes, the ep jumping order makes this series a whole lot more interesting..

its kinda a 'reverse expectation'.. u get to see what happens first then youd want to know(be interested) on what transpired for that to happen.

if they did it the regular way, youd pretty much be able to predict everything hence, the story would lose some impact. although i guess not that much would be lost if you watch it chronologically afterwards, its really damn excellent animation and quite a unique story. in a way, the order in which it is shown also keeps things interesting.

we need to get more harutards in here! i guess more ppl would catch up on this craze after a year or two.. but its already quite a sensation in japan so i guess it might not be too long till that happens.

this series is quite a find, it gave me that feeling like whenever i see or discover a new one, like something not really 'mainstream' and it just pops out out of nowhere and it really stands out. kinda like how evangelion was to me during the late 90's -that is until it made history and everyone knows about it...

i watched the first ep. kakatwa yung song at dance ni haruhi. hehehehe so cute


but the story... er... i didnt like the first ep so i stop there.

i plan to the read the manga though.

IMO the first episode was the bomb.
Kyon's sarcastic comments were hilarious.

watch episode two; that's where the story begins.

iv been downloading the series since it started but only got to watch it recently (so i got to avoid the "eh?" effect of the jumping timeline) and i truly enjoy it awang-awa lang ako kay mikuru

you can also use the episode numbers mentioned by Haruhi (as opposed to the one mentioned by Kyon) to sort of figure out the "correct" order of the series.

its nearing its end at episode14, while the chronological episode14 was already shown, i guess they plan to end it at its climax as to when Haruhi truly first manifests her omnipotence!!! bwahahaha!!!! bow down to haruhi u harutards!!!

i hope that the rumors are true tho, that after the melancholy of haruhi, they would show either 'the melacholy of yuki nagato' or 'mikuru asahina' coz i think its really cut short of where the novel is right now.

i would suggest not to go with the manga with this, the anime is much closer to the novels than the manga. or at least watch the anime first before the manga. besides they made kyon look like a typical lead character in the manga.. it has a very generic feel to it unlike the novel and anime.

i plan to rewatch the whole thing in order after it finishes to get a more roundup feel of the series.

well for me, since tokyo animation is the one doing the series, i'm hoping that they would make a 'fumoffu' season.

you shouldn't watch it like that. while it may be chronologically correct, it wouldn't be appropriate.

for example i think that the last episode(ep14, haruhi's episode 6) is way better watched as the finale.
