ang masasabi ko lang:

- galing ng concept. hindi mababato ang spectator dahil maraming pwedeng gawin.
- incorporating the activities in a typical matsuri was ingenious. ang masaya pa dun, hindi naman tinaga sa presyo ang mga tao.
- daming cosplay groups kaloka! @_@
- organizers did a good job in coordinating. :D major props sa AME peeps!
- medyo di ko marinig yung sounds nung nasa stage ako (wag nyo nang itanong kung bakit).
- alam ko may online game na sponsor, pero tago sya kaya di ko nakita. hindi ko alam kung maraming nagpunta sa booth nila dahil na rin dito.

congrats to all cosplayers lalo na yung...

- kingdom hearts group saludo ako sa inyo! astig ng mga keyblades nyo. :D
- master pogi for teh wiiiin!!!

Phew! Kakagaling ko lang sa event and all I can say is... ANG GANDA.

It was definetely worth the wait and if you missed AME MATSURI, you just watched half of your life pass by! hahaha

Hindi lang cosplay yung ikinaganda ng event... lahat ng booths(pati sumo wrestling, fortune telling, goldfish catching, etc) unique talaga! Nasubukan ko yung sumo booth, fortune telling tsaka goldfish catching and masaya nga siya!

The fireworks display at the end of the con was very nice ending to the con. Para ka talagang pumunta sa festival!

Nadisqualify ata yung HxH group kasi nag-exceed sila ng 6 mins pero if they didn't sigurado ako sila panalo. Group cosplay that won was the PoT group, sa individual si majin bu haha

best major con of the year? YES OH YES!

Haha yeah laki ng kita ng goldfish booth hahaha :P
Sobrang effective ng event na napagawa nila ako ng account dito ng wala sa oras O_O

Nag-enjoy naman ako sa event. Maganda yung fortune telling at yung iba pang concepts na ginawa para magmukha ngang authentic yung matsuri. Dami nga ng cosplayers kasama na rin ang mga grupo. Yung ibang skit nakakabilib rin dahil talented yung mga gumanap.

Special Mention para sa kin:

HxH - Panalo kayo para sakin kasi ginawa niyong stunt fest yung skit. /no1

Tsubasa Group - ngayon lang ako nakakita ng Kurogane at Syaoran na nagbrebreak dance. Isa rin to. /no1

jactinglim - Grabe hindi ko man lang nakilala ang tao sa ilalim ng costume. XD ako nga pala yung kasamang kalbo nung mga enca peeps. It was nice meeting you. :)

Enca Group - kahit mukhang may sariling mundo, ok lang naman kasi andami ring naaliw sa mga costums niyo kahit iba naman yung purpose. Ang galing ng kuha ni Geo! /no1

Kahit hindi kinaya ng mga humidifier ang init ok lang sakin. (palibahasa tumakas sa Choc Kiss XD). Yung food ok din. Ang napansin ko lang, medyo mahaba yung linya sa admissions kasi medyo matagal yung proseso ng pagkabit nung tags. Pero nagustuhan ko rin yung tags. ^^

Congrats sa lahat ng dumalo ,sumali at nag-organize sa AME Matsuri. :D

Nag enjoy ako ng mabuti sa event (maaga akong dumating, mga 10 nandun na ako)

Congratulations sa UP AME, isipin natin na isang college organization ang nagOrganize sa event na ito at lahat sila ay may mga academic responsibilities bukod sa pag handle ng event na ito, pero nagawa pa rin nilang maging masaya ang Matsuri. Kung gugustuhin ay may paraan talaga, di ba? Nagawa nilang varied ang festival activities, merong ibat ibang bagay na puwedeng salihan ang mga attendees at siguro ay may natutunan sila sa bawat Festival activity na ito.

Congratulations sa lahat ng cosplayers lalo na sa mga Grouped cosplayers, dati ay mahirap magbuo ng cosplay groups, pero ngayon ay halos buo na ang mga cast of characters.

May time limit pala ang skits ng group cosplay at ang ibang groups ay nadisqualify sa paglampas dito? Oh well, alam naman natin base sa ating personal opinion kung sino ang may nagawang magandang presentation and skit. Huwag sana kayo madiscourage sa paggawa ng skits, sundin nyo lang ang rules next time!

At sino sa inyo ang gumawa ng Cosplay skit na nandoon si Darth Vader Abundork? Na-enjoy ko mabuti ang idea ninyo, hahaha! sabi na nga ba at kukunin din siya ni Jigoku Shojo...

Pros:
Astig yung event, maraming booths at activities. Too bad di ko na-enjoy yung iba dahil sa sobrang pagod.

Okay yung idea na may space yung cosplayers sa 3rd floor, at least pwedeng makapagpractice nang hindi masyadong cramped yung space.

Cons:
Yung sa sound system lang po. Nainip ata yung mga tao dahil hindi mahanap yung bgm namin. <.<



Congrats sa lahat ng cosplayers. Andamiiii nyo! Parang kahit saan ka lumingon may cosplayer. Haha. :D Congrats din pala sa mga winners. ^^



Salamat po sa mga bumati sa group namin (ako po yung Jigoku Shoujo "ninja guy"). Matagal ko na rin gusto ipadala sa Hell si Boobman. Kaso hindi tinablan ng powers ni Ai. XD (at kala ko totoo na pina-page ni MA si kuya sephy >.<)

KUDOS to UPAME especially to boom (garu_daisuki) who pulled off a successful event despite of some problems and obstacles that they encountered in producing this event and i really enjoy the event ^^

finally! it's time for us event organizer regulars to take a break and enjoy AME's event but of course we can't help our selves to observe the event and here are somethings that we've observed during the course of the event.

GENERAL EVENT INSIGHTS:

1. MATSURI CONCEPT = we were impressed on the matsuri concept. it may not be perfect but it's a very nice concept of replicating a traditional japanese festival mix with a pop-culture twist ^^. the only problem that i see here is that there were very few matsuri activities to go through. correct me if i'm wrong but maybe due to logistic obstacles that some matsuri activities weren't included.
2. SECURITY AND BARRICADES = another thing that we were impressed at is the barricades and the security. the strategic positioning of the barricades to serve both matsuri event attendees and bahay ng alumni tenants and customers is something to applaud at. there were a lot of staff scattered around the venue to secure some areas like the cosplay lounge but of course there were times that there was a security lax during the course of the event especially around in the evening but that's understandable since everyone is tired but even though one is tired, one must still be alert for possible security problems that might occur like theft. correct me if i'm wrong but i didn't noticed that there was shifting in the staff and staff relievers.
3. BOOTHS AND 2ND FLOOR SPACE = while the ground floor was occupied with sponsors and exhibitors, the 2nd floor was occupied with ame's matsuri booths like the fortune telling, gold fish catching and sumo wrestling. imo, the 2nd wasn't fully utilized. a lot of the audience were concentrated at the ground floor and there were so few who went to the 2nd floor.
4. TICKET = TEH TICKET IS LURVE :wub: :wub: :wub:

AME MATSURI COSPLAY INSIGHTS:

1. COSPLAY REGISTRATION BOOTH = the exclusive back-stage entrance for the cosplayers and ticket selling is great convenience and the barricades controlled the influx of cosplayers.
2. COSPLAY SYSTEM = the cosplay registration system needs refinement and fine tuning. there were a lot flaws that we saw namely in the cosplay guidelines, the cosplay call-time, the judging sheets and the registration itself.
3. COSPLAY CATWALK = we really liked the two catwalks and the segregation of odd-even cosplay numbers. there was a minor problem with the extended stage/catwalk 'coz there's a little elevation between the stage and the catwalk and this caused some inconvenience and a minor danger to some visual impaired (mecha and kigurumi cosplayers) and high-heeled cosplayers (visual kei cosplayers).
4. STAGE MANAGEMENT = we were so disappointed at the stage management. there wasn't much coordination between the stage, cosplay staff and with the sound/technical booth resulting to delays with the flow of the cosplay program and caused some minor frustrations. the sounds for the catwalk should have been organized prior to the catwalk and both the stage management team, the cosplay staff and the tech booth team have coordinated with themselves and with each other before the catwalk.
5. GROUP COSPLAY = i've got three words on the group cosplay event...TOO MANY GROUPS. i'm quite impressed at the turn-out of cosplay groups who participated at the event...imagine 21 COSPLAY GROUPS. this event has created a record in terms of cosplay group participation but of course this also caused a problem. the group cosplay event took a very long time to finish and this caused some boredom but this dissipates with some of the crazy and scandalous antics of some cosplay groups XD

that would be my observations for now and i might add more once i gather my thoughts on the event ^^

Just give credit where credit is due, adding self-appointed titles and high-falutin' gibberish isn't really necessary, right? Imagine me commenting on a costume going "As the winner of the blah-blah-blah cosplay competition and a pioneer cosplayer, I am so disappointed at your skills in making a costume". Ang sagwa at para akong langaw na nakatungtong sa likod ng kalabaw, 'di ba?

No offense meant, prangka lang.

Anyway, I didn't go inside anymore since I was just going to meet some friends who attended AME Matsuri. Even so, I was aware of some of the things that was happening during the con (like the cosplay) and it looked like the event was a success based on the number of attendees, activities and the talk between my friends (one of them cosplaying for the first time) regarding how it was a "tiring but fun" event.

Ang daming cosplayers, which almost made me wish I participated in the event. Hehe, 'di bale, kita-kita na lang siguro sa isang taon.

Answers to some comments:

- Yung sa sound system po, hindi talaga marinig nung mga nasa stage, kasi nakaharap yung speakers sa audience. LOL. Wala man lang iniharap kahit isa sa stage. Yun po yung major inefficient factor ng sound system. We're really sorry about that.

- About the security, meron po talaga kaming shifts on all sides of the venue. But by 8pm po kasi, (or rather when the bands started playing), nagpull-out po kami ng people (mostly men for security) to be bouncers for the stage. Kaya yun, nawalan yung ibang sides ng venue. We're really sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused (concerning the street kids na nagsi-sneak in). Saka nag-pahinga yung ibang members kasi super pagod na (by that time I was running on adrenaline nalang). Not necessarily nawala po sa posts nila yung ibang members namin (though yung iba talagang nawala), we just needed more concentrated manpower on one spot. (@garu: what whipping? @_@ nuuu~ T_T)

- (@seph) Months before, we considered what typical Matsuri booths we could set up which were possible considering our financial status and also our manpower. Then we picked those we knew we could build that people could enjoy participating in. Also, alam po naming ka-kailanganin namin ng tao sa iba pang events ng con like cosplay, arcade, etc., so we minimized the number of booths. Yung mga booths na nakita niyo po sa AME Matsuri, yun na po yung mga matagal na naming napili. Hope this answers your comment.

- (@tiger18) Naubusan po kasi ng tickets, sobrang dami ng tao. 45 minutes after the start of ticket sales sa front gates, naubos po siya. ^^;;

- Takoyaki is teh smex. Salamat po sa pag-compliment sa food! Nag ala "Search for the Takoyaki Stand Contest" pa kami sa org. Haha. Thanks to super_genin who found the store for me. XD

Naku, pasensya na po. We printed the number of tickets equal to last year's audience turn-out, pero naubos din within 45 minutes from start of ticket selling. Ang dami talagang tao! XD

RE: tickets -- just a suggestion ~ next time siguro sobrahan ninyo ng at least mga 100pcs yung tickets -- or created subsitute tickets with control numbers (or at least a form of distinct identification that it came from AME) nung naubusan kayo ng tickets.
(1) Its unfair for those who paid tickets and then there were some who came in late and got in for free
(2) Security reasons -- anybody can go in and you lost control of the crowd simply because, you ran out of tickets? (im on the assumption everybody can just go in and it was free for all once tickets ran out -- i might be wrong so feel free to correct me, BUT this can happen)
(3) Sayang ang ticket sales :P

Its a good learning experience! next time you know ticket sell-out kayo lagi :)

the event was ANOTHER BLAST! and I congratulate the whole UPAME family and it's president Boom-chan!~ you guys done it again! next year ulet...ano kaya? hmm...

well...comments...since Sephiroth already pointed out our observations as event organizers, ako in-particular lang sa SOUNDS/Technical kasi yan ang pwesto ko lagi pag may hina-handle kaming events (so much for so-called expertise kasi I'm also learning new ideas din). siguro it would be much better once you got the background music of the group, if it is an audio cd convert nyo na agad to mp3 using windows media player and make a playlist for all of the groups para iwas delay. much better if next year you can provide a video projector para mas masaya! if you guys need help next time (na sa tingin ko naman hindi na rin kasi kaya nyo naman eh! hehehehehe!) just ask us and we're very much willing to help!

after naubusan po ng tickets, we continued to stamp the people's wrists po. hindi po free for all na siya nung nawalan ng tickets. (kung ganun, kawawa naman kami, hahaha!!) XD
